antiMusic reports: Alternative rockers ism's great new sophomore album 'Urgency,' just hit stores last week and to celebrate the release we asked frontman Andre Mistier to tell us a little about his five favorite tracks. Andre went well beyond the call of duty! So let's cut this intro short and let Andre tell you about today's song:
Resistance Lullaby: The last song written for the album. We started pre-production in the end of fall, then took a break. Our A & R guy, Michael Caplan, told me to write at least one new song while I was away. I came back with Animadversion and Resistance Lullaby. The cellist Marika Hughes did a fantastic job on this song, using the cello both as a swelling pad and to make the eerie somewhat percussive noises.
This song is about the abyss and uncertainty many people feel upon graduating college. A lot of people I know spent the first year or two out of school just dealing with this rising dread- what do I do now? Aren't I supposed to already have succeeded? And the rest. The big issue to me about liberal arts educations is that they don't explain what they are useful for. I mean, in most cases, what you've learned is really not that important to what you do next. An English, French, literature, history, psychology, or anthropology major is equally qualified to go to law school, work for a non-profit, work for a bank, hitch-hike, or become an actor. So what do you actually learn?
Metal Sucks reports: Well, it was only a matter of time: yet another song from Axl Rose's revamped Guns N' Roses has leaked online, and, as usual, it's surrounded in some mystery:
It would seem obvious that the song is "Shackler's Revenge," which is scheduled to appear on the new edition of the Rock Band video game next month but the mp3 is actually labeled "Chicken Dinner."
Could this be some sick joke by a misguided Buckethead fan (the guitar playing on the track is pretty clearly by the former GN'R guitarist)?

Marty received a gash to the head and was taken for medical attention. After an hour and a half trip to the ER, Marty received 5 staples to the close the gash.
Tracii accompanied Marty to the ER and sat waiting with him throughout the ordeal. There were also fans waiting at the hospital.

Folds said he recorded the six tracks over eight hours in Dublin, Ireland, and had his friends release the material in a spoof online leak.
However, Folds tells Rolling Stone that he reckons the 'fake' material was good enough to have made it onto the actual record, entitled 'Way To Normal'.
EMI reports: Hot Chip have spent much of the last 12 months compounding their status as one of the hardest working bands around. Apart from numerous musical side projects, remixing duties and running a record label, they have had sold-out tours in the UK, Europe and the US. Now the band are set to return to the US for a second tour this Fall. The dates include two shows each at the Wiltern in L.A., the Metro in Chicago, and Terminal 5 in NYC.
In addition to the music making partnership of Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Owen Clarke, Al Doyle and Felix Martin, the band will be adding a live drummer on these dates. If the band aren't playing in your area, you can enjoy a slice of their live experience from their new EP entitled iTunes Live: Berlin Festival. Recorded at Radialsystem V in Berlin on May 8, the 6 track EP features: "Over and Over", "Out At The Pictures", "One Pure Thought", "Don't Dance", "No Fit State", and "Ready for the Floor". It is available now exclusively on iTunes.
antiMusic reports: Who hasn't misheard a song lyrics. We thought it might be fun to feature some favorites here for you to enjoy.
Today's misheard lyric is to Bob Dylan's "Blowin' In The Wind" and the line "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind." That lyric has been misheard as "The ants are my friends, they're blowin' in the wind. The ants are a-blowin' in the wind."
If you have a misheard lyric we'd love to hear from you. See the contact link at the bottom of the page for how to get a hold of us to tell us about your favorites. If you want to check out more misheard song lyrics like this one you can go
antiMusic reports: This one was just too cheesy to pass up, looks like Tommy Lee is now taking Brett Michael's leftovers. Here is the E! report: Maybe this is how Pamela Anderson and her ex Tommy Lee play dating poker. Pam goes, "I'm dating a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family." Tommy goes, "I'll see your Arab prince and raise you one reality-TV vixen." Or maybe that's all just in our heads.
But in any case, you probably caught our exclusive earlier today about Pam's new man. Now it seems that Tommy's going tit for tat. Literally.
Sources tell E! news that the Motley Crue rocker is dating Rock of Love 2 hottie Daisy De La Hoya. And despite assertions from De La Hoya's rep that the duo are "just friends," our source says they're much more.
PR reports: VH1 Classic is celebrating the 39th anniversary of the 'summer of love' with a weekend of classic rock documentaries and concerts celebrating Woodstock. In tribute VH1 Classic will air Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same, The Last Waltz, Woodstock: The Movie, Lets Spend the Night Together, and U2's Rattle and Hum.
[A few factual problems here. The "Summer Of Love" was in 1967 not 1969 as Vh1 thinks. So that being the case, Led Zeppelin didn't form until a year later and the hippies hated them when they came out! Just go back and read the hippy press like Rolling Stone of the day. Zeppelin helped kill the hippy music trend. The Last Waltz kind of fits since The Band was part of the hippy Frisco scene but this concert didn't happen until well after the "Summer of Love". Woodstock took place two years after the "Summer of Love" and The Stones tour covered in "Let's Spend the Night Together" was almost 15 years after the media glamorized "Summer of Love". Finally, we still have no fricken idea how U2 fits anywhere in the mix, unless the folks at Vh1 writing this stuff are under 25 and think anything before Nirvana somehow fit in with hippies. Now back to the press release]
Air-times: The Song Remains The Same Airs on Friday, August 15 at 8PM ET/PT Led Zeppelin's seminal documentary, The Song Remains The Same, goes behind the scenes of the group's three night run at Madison Square Garden in 1973. The documentary includes concert footage, exclusive behind-the-scenes moments of the band, and the 23 minute-long version of the song 'Dazed And Confused'.
PR reports: ATO Records is proud to announce that the soundtrack to the subversively comedic film "Choke," will be released on September 23, 2008. The album, a digital-only release, will have the seven songs from the film and eight others that are significant to actor, director and screen writer Clark Gregg's vision while he was making it.
Highlights include previously recorded songs by the likes of Radiohead, Death Cab For Cutie, My Morning Jacket, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Fiery Furnaces, The Twilights Singers and Ben Kweller. Most notable additions are the previously unreleased or rare tracks that appear on the record, among them "Orgasm Addict" by The Buzzcocks as sung by the band's original singer Howard Devoto, a great version of The Doors' "Crystal Ship" by the incomparable Nicole Atkins and The Sea, and the original version by The Natural History of Spoon's current hit single, "Don't You Ever." The full tracklisting and comments on each song by Gregg are below.
Fox Searchlight Pictures and ATO Pictures present "Choke," a Contrafilm/ATO Pictures Production, based on the novel by maverick author Chuck Palahniuk ("Fight Club"). Actor-turned-director Gregg shows he is as adept behind the camera as he is in front of it with this wickedly comedic tale of Victor Mancini, con artist, sex addict, Colonial village re-enactor, angst-filled son, serial restaurant choke -- and unsuspecting romantic antihero for our unsettling times.
antiMusic reports: Ludo will be checking in with us all summer as they rock the Warped tour in support of their Island Def Jam CD "You're Awful, I Love You". Here is the band with today's entry:
In preparation for the arrival of Warped Tour, the city of Calgary suspended all grass growth for the spring and summer 2008. They had to make the dust bowl perfectly dusteriffic. And they pulled it off! It was just like a Western out there. A sunny day with variable cloudinesses. Played around 1:00 I think. Taught the trumpet player from Oreskaband, Saki, the notes to play for Epic. She was very excitey and a great player.
Convy and I met the fine people at the Calgary rock station and did an interview with them. We played to a fine crowd, as Byron left the merch attended by a friend while he took in a rare Ludo show. After all, we were finally in his hometown, and we looked to him to translate our culture to the beautiful Calgarians who surrounded us. He did wonderfully well. That evening, we sang Happy Birthday for Megan from Ta-Da Catering. She was embarrassed. Then the ladies from Oreskaband came over to our bus, and we went over all the horn parts to Epic. They were not only transposing all the notes I gave them from concert to their instruments, they were also translating what we were saying from English into Japanese. Smarter than us, they are. They also really liked our Minute Maid apple juice. Ludo truly has the party bus, Warped Tourians. Headed south. We had a date with a border crossing, an accusatory driver of a different bus, and the capital city of Montana.
Find out where you can see them, preview tracks from their new CD and learn more about Ludo here.
