punknews.org reports: Say Anything frontman Max Bemis recently launched a unique initiative, offering to write new acoustic songs for paying fans. The band explained: In an effort to minimize the gap between music listeners and performers, take up time on warped tour, and find some solution for the fact that anyone can download any of his gosh-darn albums for free, Max came up with a predictably crazy idea in a haze of sleeping medication. Max has decided to open the door for a limited time to Say Anything fans to submit ONE to TWO paragraphs about an issue they are having, a serious problem they are going through, or even something they just felt should be written about. Max will take two to three days to deliver an acoustic, full length actual Say Anything song based on your experiences and what you submitted! Each song is 100 percent written by Max for YOU, the buyer.

Blabbermouth reports: Co-host Red and intern Jim Bob of the "Rockin Metal Revival" show recently conducted an interview with former Dokken lead guitarist George Lynch. When asked about the possibility of a Dokken reunion with him on guitar, Lynch said, "I did an interview yesterday with Metal Hammer [magazine] in Europe and the guy had just spoken to Don [Dokken]. And Don's response to that same question was the interviewer told me was that this is all coming from George, nobody else has any interest. Now that is absolutely not true. "The actual truth is that, yes, my management company has been instrumental in encouraging this to happen, and I'm all for it. But everybody else has agreed in principle at three different occasions over the past few years at looking into doing this to try to put it together and have it make sense. And for various reasons it has not happened. But to characterize this as I'm the one that is pounding the table, and everyone else is reluctant astronauts is completely false.

"A.I.'s" ratings slipped last season, and the show was getting a little boring. We're also told Lythgoe is working on some kind of a joint venture with Simon Fuller, who created "Idol." Lythgoe wants to spend his time on "So You Think You Can Dance." [wow, even more vapid!]

Kayos reports: Armoury Records (through Eagle Rock Entertainment) will release Seven Days Live by Poison- Bret Michaels, Bobby Dall, Rikki Rockett and Richie Kotzen- as captured at the height of their international success with a full show recorded at London's Hammersmith Opollo in 1993. Featuring classic tracks like "Unskinny Bop," "Talk Dirty To Me," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Ain't Nothin' But A Good Time" and more, Seven Days Live is a rare live recording of the Richie Kotzen era of the band, shortly after he replaced original guitarist CC DeVille. Poison became icons of glam in the late '80s/early '90s with a striking visual image and incredible success selling records upwards of 14 million in the U.S. alone. With six Top 10 singles to their credit, they continue to tour to this day. The Pennsylvania band moved to Los Angeles in 1984 and developed a hardcore following along the Sunset Strip (Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash once auditioned as lead guitarist). With plenty of make-up and hairspray, they played their androgyny into major stardom, becoming the house band at popular West Hollywood hang-out The Troubadour. Open Up And Say
Ahh! (1988) made them into international celebrities.

Band arrangements of material featured on the album include covers of Big Mama Thornton's version of "Hound Dog," Junior Walker's "(I'm A) Road Runner" and "Wichita Lineman," (one of the most revered country songs penned by Jimmy Webb). PR reports: "Everyone is looking out for the little piece that they've saved away," sings Pierre de Reeder in "Not How I Believe," the closing track of his debut solo album, The Way That It Was. Already revered by one of music's most passionate fanbases as the bassist for wildly successful indie-pop quartet Rilo Kiley, Pierre is finally ready to share his own "little piece" in a series of poignant and engaging plaintives on love, life and the reflective moments that weave throughout them. The Way That It Was, which will be released on Little Record Company on August 12th, 2008, sees Pierre transition seamlessly into the role of frontman after years on the road and in the studio with his Rilo Kiley bandmates. As one of the band's co-founders, Pierre has been front and center as they have progressed from local fan-favorite to celebrated critical success, with their latest album Under the Blacklight landing at #8 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 albums of 2007 and #10 on Blender's Best Albums of 2007. For his solo debut, Pierre decided to eschew the lush powerpop and smooth beats of the band's current stylings in favor of creating an intimate collection of songs that feed from the singer songwriter tradition of classic folk-rockers like Harry Nilsson. However, the influences of his musical past can be heard in the strong melodic structures and pop sensibilities that permeate the album.
