Tool Tour for Xmas?
Blabbermouth reports: Although no dates are officially confirmed at this point, it appears that Tool will be touring the West Coast of the USA from mid-November until Christmas. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

Billboard reported several months ago that TOOL is mulling the idea of making a band movie. Guitarist Adam Jones said, "We all have ideas about it. If I had my way, it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects as we could throw at it...It's just talk right now."

PUSCIFER, the side project of TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan, will release its debut album, "V Is for Vagina", on October 30 via Puscifer Entertainment.

What about the next album?- Find out here

The Real Tuesday Weld Soundchecked
PR reports: The Real Tuesday Weld a.k.a. Stephen Coates recently appeared on WNYC's Soundcheck with John Schaefer. Coates discussed his album The London Book of The Dead, his inspirations, and life growing up in England. Schaefer described The Real Tuesday Weld as "Serge Gainsbourg and Cole Porter on Absinthe creating an old-fashioned radio play."

The London Book of The Dead may sound at first like a startlingly morose title, but in fact it's more whimsically humorous than morbid. It refers to the Bardo Thodol (or "Tibetan Book of The Dead"), which describes the passage of the soul from the end of one life to the beginning of another. "I thought it would be funny if there were a book like that for the English," says Coates. "The album felt like that to me – a way of moving from one state to another, and all set against the backdrop of this city."- more including the link to the performance

The Payola Reserve America Roots on the Road This Roctober
antiMusic reports: The Payola Reserve is hitting the road next week in support of their new album 200 Years. Here is what their hometown paper the Baltimore CityPaper had to say about them:

"It's time to wake up, America! It's okay to love tradition, but don't let your love for roots rock and Americana music stay mired in the past. On The Payola Reserve's blistering new DIY album 200 Years, the Baltimore band pays homage to its folk rock heroes (Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Band), but brings the genre right into the 2000s with incisive, straight to the gut songwriting and the intense, sarcastic energy of their live shows. All of this bodes well for the genre's future. That is, if lead singer Ben Pranger could get off the freewheeling apocalyptic trip he's on"

East Coast / Midwest Tour as follows:
Oct 5 Baltimore, Maryland
Oct 13 New York, New York
Oct 18 Baltimore, Maryland
Oct 27 Richmond, Virginia- more dates

Sophomore Album Coming from the Stephen King of Indie Pop
PR reports: Many songwriters will model themselves as "tortured artists", penning poor, sad songs from a place of pain and pity in hopes of sharing "their story." Portland, Oregon-based singer-songwriter Chris Robley isn't one of them. Known amongst his friends as "the Stephen King of Indie Pop", Robley writes songs out of pure obsession and intrigue with the dark side of human relationships.

This is certainly demonstrated on his sophomore full-length, "The Drunken Dance of Modern Man In Love" (Cutthroat Pop Records), an album chock-full of clever pop, experimental folk, dark rock, and Robley's sympathetic lyrical tales of down trodden, heart-wrenching American life.

Chris Robley & The Fear of Heights is set to release "The Drunken Dance of Modern Man In Love" this fall, and plan to tour extensively in the West and do a national run in support of the album.- more on this story
