antiMusic reports: A club bouncer sent Stereophonics
singer Kelly Jones to the hospital with a serious injury. The band was
at the London nightclub club Amika following an appearance at the Vodafone
Live Music Awards and got into an argument with a club bouncer as he was
leaving the establishment early Thursday morning.
The Press Association reports that "The
altercation, allegedly with a member of the club's security team, left
the 33-year-old bloodied from a deep 2in gash to his forearm." The band
reportedly issues the following statement: "Kelly and friends were leaving
the club when he had an altercation with an over-zealous security guard.
"As a result of the ensuing fracas, Kelly
badly injured his arm and is currently in hospital, where he has been since
the early hours of this morning awaiting a consultation with a surgeon."

antiMusic reports: Someone better tell all
of those My Chemical Romance fans to throw away their mascara and turn
their frowns upside down because the band's frontman Gerard Way says in
a emotional new interview that his band has nothing to do the "pile of
sh*t" that is emo.
Brett Sowerby conducted an interview with
Way for The Maine Campus. Most of the questions were from students at the
university but this one was not attributed to a student and really seemed
to make Gerald "emotional". Here is the exchange: TMC: I understand you
don't really like the term emo to describe your music. Is there anything
you'd like to say about that?
GW: Basically, it's never been accurate
to describe us. Emo bands were being booked while we were touring with
Christian metal bands because no one would book us on tours. I think emo
is F--ing garbage, it's bulls--.
I think there's bands that unfortunately
we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default that starts
to make us emo. All I can say is anyone actually listening to the records,
put the records next to each other and listen to them and there's actually
no similarities. I think emo's a pile of s--. [we took this test here at

antiMusic reports: It looks like the Rage
Against the Machine reunion will roll on and this time they are taking
their show Down Under. The communist leaning band's multinational corporate
record company's Australian branch issues a rather comical press release
when you consider the source. Yes the man is selling rebellion again! Here
it tis mate! Via la revolution, but you gotta buy a ticket and don't forget
the Che T-shirt!
It has been 11 long years since Australians
last pointed their middle fingers heavenwards and declared: "F--- you,
I won't do what you tell me!" and this January the opportunity beckons
against with Rage Against The Machine announcing their return to Oz for
two massive shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Ticket go on sale Thursday,
September 27 - be quick.
The drought will break and the rebellion
will rise again this January with the long-awaited return of Los Angeles,
California's Rage Against The Machine. The re-formed Rage - vocalist Zack
de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford
- will set the Australian summer ablaze with two very special shows in
Sydney and Melbourne. - more

antiMusic reports: KNAC posted a preview of
their candid interview with Sammy Hagar. The full interview is set to run
this weekend acording to the site but they did post the portion where Sammy
discusses the Van Halen reunion and the exclusion of Michael Anthony. Here
is that exchange - KNAC.com: I know you love playing music with Michael
Anthony, so that being said, what does a Van Halen reunion mean to you
without Michael Anthony
.or David Lee Roth's original hair?
Hagar: "I wouldn't do it without Mike.
On the last reunion, and I'm telling you this straight up - this is stuff
I've never really said actually - they wanted to throw Mike out then. Why?
I don't know. I still can't understand why Ed has it out for Mike. Mike
is the nicest guy in the world, and he's an unbelievable player. He's also
an incredible singer and a professional. Mike is a guy who goes out every
night and does a perfect job - a 10 every night - it's not even a 9.5.
Why would you want to get rid of a guy like that? I don't know what happened
between them somewhere when I wasn't around, but I just said, 'no, I won't
do it without Mike.' My manager said, 'you put a gun in Mike's hand to
negotiate with these guys.' I said, 'you're damn right because I'm telling
you, the agency, the promoters and the band that I will not go out and
do a Van Halen reunion show without Michael Anthony.'
"Obviously, someone else doesn't feel that
way because Mike isn't there. Honest to Godit's none of my business. If
Eddie wants to play with his son, fine. I love my son too, but I got him
a different job. (laughs) I just think that it should be Mike. They will
do good without him, and it's a shame. At the same time, I just think the
fans are gonna walk away with a little bit of a disappointment because
Mike's a big part of that band." - Check

antiMusic reports: We do have a ban on Disney
coverage right now but we can't resist a story about a Disney star making
lesbian photos. That's not the focus of the story but that's what caught
our eye. Funny how the Goofy company can ban metal bands but when one of
their kiddy show stars has provocative photos pop up online, they act as
if nothing happened. Hecklerspray have the story: If you ever wanted proof
of how successful Disney's High School Musical cable movies have been,
you only need to look as far as Vanessa Hudgens. A series of lewd Vanessa
Hudgens photos have been posted across the internet recently, showing 18-year-old
Vanessa Hudgens naked and playing at being a lesbian - and still High School
Musical fans have rushed to Vanessa's defence, claiming that Hudgens is
only doing what any normal teenage girl would do. While we'd argue with
that judgement - we've met plenty of teenage girls in our time, and getting
them to send us naked lesbian photos of them has proved to be damn near
impossible - you have to respect the passion of her followers.
One of Vanessa Hudgens' old lawyers has
decided to sue her for $150,000 over something to do with Vanessa Hudgens
that shockingly doesn't involve any amount of teenage nudity whatsoever.
E! Online reports: The scandal-tinged High
School Musical star was sued Monday for breach of contract by her former
lawyer who says that the 18-year-old hasn't yet paid a $150,000 bill. In
his complaint, Brian L. Schall claims that Hudgens has raked in more than
$5 million from songwriting and recording deals that he helped negotiate
starting Oct. 1, 2005- more

antiMusic reports: Great White's former manager

in Rhode Island that killed 100 people has been granted parole that will
take effect in March, meaning that he will have served less than half of
his 4-year prison sentence.
The state parole board voted unanimously
to grant Daniel Biechele early release, the board's Chairwoman Lisa Holley
told the Associate Press.
Biechele was sentenced to 4 years after
pleading guilty last year to 100 counts of manslaughter for his part in
the deadly fire at the night club in February of 2003 which took 100 lives

antiMusic reports: We knew they'd come through
with a video. Jimmy Kimmel's PR company sent this over. In case you have
not already seen the incredible BACKWARDS performance by art-rockers MUTEMATH
last night on ABC's late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live" you need
to check out [the link at the end of this article]. For the first time
ever on late-night television a band performed in reverse!
The idea for this unique performance stemmed
from the video for the track which was a collaborative concept between
video director Israel Anthem and the band. Every move and detail by each
band member was conceived and painstakingly plotted and choreographed.
Band members learned and rehearsed their
individual parts of the song backwards so when filmed and viewed would
appear as accurately and naturally as possible in real time though the
film runs completely in reverse.- [You
know you HAVE to check that out!]

antiMusic reports: GirlFrenzy, the all female
"concert event" you have heard nothing about looks to have died from lack
of interest, or at least has been delayed. We'll let E! be the smartasses
this time with their report: Is GirlFrenzy more like a GirlFizzle? The
one-off daylong music festival, set to take place in October and feature
an all-estrogen lineup of singers, has been indefinitely postponed, without
so much as an explanation to fans or performers.
"Right Arm Entertainment and Live Nation
have postponed the first annual GirlFrenzy," read an announcement on the
concert's official site. The promoters said the show would be rescheduled
sometime for 2008.
Among the topliners slated to appear at
the show, which was supposed to take place Oct. 27 in Irvine, California,
were Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Fiona Apple, Miranda Lambert, MySpace
stalwart Colbie Caillat, Starbucks playlist staple Antigone Rising and
iTunes heavyweight Sara Bareilles.

PR reports: John Fogerty, whose searing new
album Revival is out October 2 on Fantasy Records, will kick off a Fall
tour at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on November 2. Fogerty
will bring with him songs from 'Revival,' which USA Today says "evokes
the swamp pop, rockabilly stomp and guitar chomp of his Creedence Clearwater
Revival heyday," as well as classics from his deep Creedence and solo catalog.
The same day Revival hits stores; Fogerty will appear on the Late Show
with David Letterman.
Revival, Fogerty's first album of new material
on Fantasy, represents a renewed musical spirit and heart. Standout tracks
include the hopeful first single "Don't You Wish It Was True", "Gunslinger,"
with it's cinematic western-theme evoking vintage-era Creedence Clearwater
Revival, and the deliciously swampy "Creedence Song," where Fogerty correctly
and humorously concludes, "You can't go wrong, if you play a little bit
of that Creedence song." - more

Hecklerspray reports: Hey kids, forget everything
your parents told you about working hard - it appears the best way to achieve
success is to start wailing uncontrollably on YouTube because someone you
inexplicably admire is acting like a dickhead.
Pretty much the whole world has seen the
YouTube video called 'LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!' in which a desperately androgynous
young person cries and cries and cries and threatens to kill himself unless
people stop writing mean things about Britney Spears all the time.
Well, it seems like the TV buzz-phrase
this season is 'uncomfortably unstable Britney Spears obsessives' because
Chris Crocker, the star of the 'LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!' YouTube video has
just signed a deal to star in his own TV show. Although details are scant
about Chris Crocker's TV project, it's thought to be a cross between Avocats
et Associés and a sobbing f*cking moron getting disturbingly worked
up about someone he's never met doing something that'll never affect him
like a tit.- more
