PR reports: Gearing up for another relentless touring schedule in 2008, metal marvels As I Lay Dying are not waiting long after the New Year to get back on the road. The January 2008 leg of their acclaimed AN OCEAN BETWEEN US tour will feature a fresh crop of opening bands - August Burns Red, Evergreen Terrace and Still Remains and will continue to bring their genuine brand of fist-pumping metal to a theatre near you. The outing will begin on January 10th in Las Vegas, NV and will continue on through February 1 in Omaha, NE. Guitarist, Phil Sgrosso says of the upcoming trek "2008 is going to be a very busy year for us and there's no better way to start it off than with a US headline tour.

Metal Underground reports: King Diamond's North American headlining tour - which is scheduled to launch March 23 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and run through May 8 in Houston - has been cancelled due to a herniated disc."I can't sit down, even on my couch, for more than a few minutes," King recently told MTV.com. "About [two months ago] I tried, and after 15 minutes, it started feeling like my left leg was getting set on fire." "It can take up to a year and a half for a severe herniated disc to heal properly, but it varies from person to person," he added. "Right now there's not much more we can do."

PR reports: While your stomachs and wallets are recuperating from the Thanksgiving holiday, mellow out to the rock n' roll hardcore styling of Buffalo's Every Time I Die on ABC. In case you missed it the first time, Every Time I Die's performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" will re-air this Friday night, November 23, at 12:05 AM. The band's October 31 performances of "We'rewolf" and "No Son Of Mine" will re-air in all their nationally-televised glory. Every Time I Die recently wrapped up a tour with Underoath, Poison The Well, and Maylene & The Sons of Disaster, and are currently looking ahead to their co-headlining spot on the Take Action Tour.

Contact Music reports: Musician John Hughley has died. He was 73. The steel guitarist, who made a name for himself playing for country stars Conway Twitty and Vince Gill, passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday (18Nov07). The Arkansas native worked with childhood friend Twitty for two decades until the late 1980s, before going on to play for Loretta Lynn and Gill. Most recently, he became a member of touring musicians the Time Jumpers.

PR reports: Asia are pleased to officially announce that the band lineup has finally been completed with the addition of keyboard wizard par excellence Erik Norlander. Erik's evocative synthesizer technique and style is reminiscent of the legendary Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson and Jon Lord while still creating a very unique musical voice of his own. Jam! reports: Two people in charge of a portion of James Brown's estate quit their positions Tuesday amid ongoing questions over the late soul singer's finances. The resignation of the trustees, who included a longtime adviser and close friend of Brown's, was announced during a court hearing shortly after David Cannon, a former trustee, was held in contempt. Administrators looking into the handling of Brown's estate told the judge in September that Cannon, who stepped down as a trustee the month before, may have misappropriated up to $7 million.

PR reports: After a 24-year sabbatical, Dr. Noah Drake has returned to ABC daytime, and the music of Rick Springfield is about to fill our speakers once again. Sleeper Car is a five-piece band steeped in roots music. Michael Musikantow's vocals are somewhat reminiscent of Jeff Buckley. The vocals combine well with the pedal steel and fiddle to give each song a rich texture of sound. (4 stars)
