Scum Of The Earth Week: Macabro Expectaculo
antiMusic reports: When it came time to pick a band to feature for Halloween week a perfect opportunity presented itself in the form of Scum of the Earth. For those not familiar: the band is spearheaded by former Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs and the band's new album 'Sleaze Freak' hit stores last week. So we asked Riggs to pick his five favorite tracks from the CD and tell us a little about each and he more than delivered in true Riggs fashion. Here he is with today's song "Macabro Expectaculo":

Well I had to take a jab at organized religion while I was at it since that's the biggest horror scene around. God's the enemy...blah...blah...blah...leaves us bitter and full of hate. Killing in the name of (insert your god's name here).

Now if that didn't get your attention nothing will. Learn more about the band, the new CD, listen to some tracks and more - right here

Injury Delays Zeppelin Show
Metal Underground reports: Led Zeppelin's November 26th reunion concert has been pushed back to December 10th because guitarist Jimmy Page fractured his finger. The injury, which he sustained this past weekend, will make him unable to play guitar for the next three weeks.

"I am disappointed that we are forced to postpone the concert by two weeks," Page said in a statement. "However, Led Zeppelin have always set very high standards for ourselves, and we feel that this postponement will enable my injury to properly heal, and permit us to perform at the level that both the band and our fans have always been accustomed to."

The show, a memorial for late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, will also feature performances by Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman, and Foreigner. - more on this story

MTV Kill Fiddy
antiMusic reports: 50 Cent is mystified that television networks would not want to run a video for a song called "I Still Kill." Fiddy sees some kind of hypocrisy at work here, conveniently ignoring a long history of the leading "music" networks not airing songs with questionable titles, or having the songs changed for mass consumption (for example Weezer's "We Are All On Drugs" was turned into the ubber lame "We Are All In Love")

Launch has the story: 50 Cent's new single "I Still Kill" has been banned by TV stations MTV and BET in America. The track has been renamed "I Still Will."

50 Cent told New York Magazine: "I don't think they have a problem with the group the Killers being called 'The Killers' and I don't think anyone's protesting that Guns N' Roses is called 'Guns N' Roses.'" - more on this story

Meat Loaf is Burnt
antiMusic reports: Seems Meat Loaf is burnt. Burnt out that is and now there is speculation that he is planning to retire from music after he prematurely left the stage during a concert this week, telling fans that this was his final performance.

BBC has the story: Fans were left disappointed last night after US singer Meat Loaf cut short a concert in Newcastle after an hour. His tour promoter has played down reports that the 60-year-old told the audience it would be his final gig.

"I've spoken to his doctor, and it's clear it's just exhaustion and stress," said Andrew Miller. "It's not his last ever gig, that's for sure."

Dimmu Borgir Vs Bushido
BW&BK reports: In an article by Uli Pupils at German online paper Bild.de, it is revealed that Dimmu Borgir are set to sue rapper Bushido for copyright infringement.

Dimmu Borgir Manager Yvette Uhlmann has stated that the band were alerted online that the rapper's song 'Mittelfingah', lifts the melody from the band's song 'Mourning Palace'.

Dimmu Borgir guitarist Silenoz has said that if the two parties fail to reach an agreement, the band intend to file a lawsuit - more on this story

Dio Confirms Heaven and Hell CD Plans
Metal Underground reports: Komodo Rock recently conducted an interview with legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW, HEAVEN AND HELL). A couple of excerpts from the chat follow: Komodo Rock: So with it having gone gold there has been talk of maybe a new studio album from HEAVEN AND HELL next year. Is that something that could happen?

Dio: Yes, we have decided to do that. When it would be, I couldn't tell you. This is the last part of the tour after about 9 months on the road. It's time for us to take a little breather. When the time is right we will get together and start writing for the next album, but as far as the release date goes it will probably be later next year.

Komodo Rock: Does that mean that you won't be going back to the solo DIO stuff for a while then? - Dio: I will. I plan on doing some touring around March or April. Sometime like that. I want to keep a hand in on that one. I love this band that I play with as well, and it's another career, another career with a lot of great music as well. - more from this interview which includes an apology to Def Leppard and Vivian Campbell

Linkin Park Aid Fire Victims
Metal Underground reports: Linkin Park is working to help Southern California recover from the recent wildfires that devastated the region through its charitable organization, Music For Relief.

According to MTV.com, the band has contributed $50,000 to Direct Relief International, a non-profit organization based in Santa Barbara that has been providing medical supplies to victims of the blazes.

Linkin Park bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell said in a statement, "The wildfires are an unfathomable tragedy. Being able to help victims of a natural disaster like the wildfires is exactly why Music for Relief was founded." - more on this story

Da Brat Hits Waitress With Da Bottle
antiMusic reports: We couldn't end the week without a story about a rapper being arrested for doing something stupid. This time it is Da Brat who lived up to the stage moniker and now faces a charge of aggravated assault.

Jam has the story: Rapper Da Brat was arrested early Thursday after a dispute at a night club in U.S. state of Georgia.

Witnesses told police the 33-year-old rapper got into an argument with a waitress and later hit her over the head with a bottle of rum, Atlanta television station WSB reported. - more on this story

Fall Out Boy Wanna Pop
antiMusic reports: Here is a real shocking story. It seems Fall Out Boy plan to go pop. We already thought they were pop but apparently they want to complete the cross over, perhaps to further increase their MTV darling image? We don't know, but here is Contact Music with the story:

Fall Out Boy are abandoning their rock roots to record a new album of pop songs. Frontman Patrick Stump reveals the band already has an album's worth of material prepared for the project.

He says, "It's probably going to be a pop record. We're experimenting with piano, too." - more breaking news

Another Surgery for Hanson Brother
Contact Music reports: Isaac Hanson is preparing for a second session of surgery in a bid to cure him of a life-threatening illness.

The 26-year-old was hospitalised after he experienced shoulder and chest pains during a Hanson gig in Dallas, Texas earlier this month (02Oct07) and underwent surgery to treat a pulmonary embolism.

[Hanson] is now taking blood-thinning medication to prevent future clots and has been scheduled for a December (07) operation to remove a rib pressing against a vein.

Britney Poised to Top Charts
E! reports: Britney Spears has done it again. And this time it's no oops. Despite the media circus surrounding her custody battle with Kevin Federline, endless tabloid tales of her head-shaving, underwear-eschewing escapades and a lip-synching debacle at the Video Music Awards, Spears seems poised to do the unthinkable: resurrect her faded career.

The "Gimme More" singer is on track to defy naysayers and top the charts with Blackout, her first studio album since 2003's In the Zone. And perhaps even more astonishing, Spears has managed her comeback while virtually refusing to promote the album in the traditional ways, ticking off her label, Jive/Zomba Records.

According to sales figures from Nielsen SoundScan and Billboard, Blackout sold 124,000 copies its first day of release on Tuesday - more on this story
