Grand Illusion Hits Stores
PR reports: GRAND ILLUSION: Love, Lies, and My Life with Styx book, by Styx bassist, Chuck Panozzo with Michele Skettino hit stores yesterday.

A founding member of Styx and its iconic bass player, Chuck Panozzo remembers what it was like on the road to success, riding between local gigs in the back of a station wagon, and at the peak of his fame, playing before thousands of screaming female fans and torrents of panties, bras, and propositions. He also recalls the loneliness and gnawing fear of being found out and exposed as a gay man. He tells the story of his struggle to come to terms with himself while navigating a rock ‘n’ roll odyssey in THE GRAND ILLUSION: Love, Lies, and My Life with Styx.- Click Here for the Full Story

Collectors’ Choice Get Heavier
PR reports: There are many indie-rock, punk and metal albums that deserve reissue, but Collectors’ Choice didn’t feel it was right to put them on its main imprint, cheek by jowl with such artists as Jackie Gleason, the Singing Nun and the Four Freshmen. So, for the first time in its long history of licensing and releasing reissues, Collectors’ Choice has launched a new label, which they’ve assigned the curious name of Noble Rot. Wine lovers will recognize the term as the one used to describe the bacteria that cause grapes to rot, thereby upping their sugar content. The folks at Collectors’ Choice liked it because, one, good recordings really do improve with age, and two, because “rot “ is as punk as a word gets. (And “bacteria” is pretty punk, too!)

The first releases under the Noble Rot banner are reissues by Grant Lee Buffalo, Robyn Hitchcock, Hunters & Collectors and Yngwie Malmsteen, all with snazzy Digipak packaging. Street date for the initial rollout of six CDs is set for June 26, 2007.[see full story for more on each release]- Click Here for the Full Story

Wicked Step Darth
PR reports: In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars saga, Cinderella drummer Fred Coury has been interviewed by the mysterious Maul Stanley (a parody hybrid of Star Wars character Darth Maul and Kiss guitarist Paul Stanley). As part of this special week-long event, Maul Stanley has also interviewed members of Twisted Sister, Poison and Quiet Riot regarding their own unique Star Wars experiences. Maul Stanley: Do you have a favorite Star Wars character?

Fred Coury: You mean besides Lt. Uhura? Well, Han Solo was probably my favorite character because he was kind of the rocker of the bunch. Plus, he proved himself to be a true hero in the end. I liked him way more than other fellow... what was his name? Mark Hamill? He was the ice skater with the wedge haircut, right? He wasn't the manliest of men! So yes, I think Han Solo was my favorite.

Maul Stanley: Do you have a favorite line, moment or scene from any of the Star Wars films?

Fred Coury: I think my favorite line is probably everybody's favorite line: "I am your father." Huh? What? Who? That was pure genius. Think of the possibilities! That one line made for years of speculation and entertainment.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
