DiR reports: Circus Diablo, the band fronted
by The Cult's Billy Morrison and also features Billy Duffy (The Cult),
Ricky Warwick (Almighty), and Brett Scallions (Fuel) are releasing their
self-titled debut album next week. The album features a guest appearance
by Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses, The Cult, Velvet Revolver) who played the
drums on all of the tracks. Slut's Charles Ruggiero will be drumming on
the upcoming tour with Mondo Generator and on Ozzfest.
To celebrate the release, we asked frontman
Billy Morrison to give us the lowdown on his top five favorite tracks from
the CD. Here's Billy will today's song. SHINE. The first song I have ever
written about a specific woman. Normally the girl in my head that I write
about is a combination of people in my life, past present or future. But
this song is about my wife, and how I feel about her. I have always been
somewhat of...whats the nice way of putting it?...a whore!! But meeting
my wife and getting married has been the single best experience of my life.
To find a soulmate in this life is a rare event, and she changed my world
in every way possible. She truly SHINES for me. Sickly sweet, but very
true. [grab a listen at the full story link and pick up the CD next Tuesday!
Also note the tour correction in the intro. Sorry, they are not touring
with QOTSA as we mentioned yesterday]- Click

PR reports: Bert McCracken has just been advised
to undergo surgery due to the fact that he has developed a node on one
of his vocal chords. Consequently, the band has been forced to cancel their
shows on all upcoming dates during June and July, including the Van's Warped
Tour. Doctors have recommended treatment as well as rest without singing
and are expecting a full recovery. He will be able to sing again in about
five weeks.
The band is incredibly disappointed but
promised to return to touring in the USA in early September with headlining
dates. "Kevin Lyman and the Van's Warped tour have been amazing supporters
of our band and we are truly saddened that we won't be able to perform
on this year's tour," states Quinn Allman, The Useds guitarist. We hope
to have new tour details ready for release shortly. -

Earvolution reports: Guns N' Roses concert
goers should come to expect late starts. But, it didn't stop one fan from
expressing a little anger over waiting for Axl in Australia. WENN reports
that a fan tossed a drink at Rose when the band got off to a late start
for a Brisbane gig.
Apparently the band didn't start until
nearly midnight and some fans who paid well over $100 dollars a ticket
weren't happy. The report says that not long into their classic "Welcome
To The Jungle" someone hurled a can at Axl. In response, Rose reportedly
challenged the audience, "Is that what you want? You want a battle. If
you're going to act like that, then you know I don't have to be here."
Despite some reported long disappearances during songs, Rose did finish
the show.[see full story for more]- Click

PR reports: Going from hair rock to country
worked for Bon Jovi. The band's new album "Lost Highway" debuted a top
the Billboard album charts this week with sales of 292,000. The first No
1 for the band since the "hair metal" heyday of 1988.
The made of MTV band beat out The White
Stripes for the top spot with 50,000 more units sold. Jack Whites latest
"Icky Thump" moved 223,000 units for the No 2 spot. Country fans seemed
to have turned to Jovi spandex as last week's chart topper Toby Keith's
"Big Dog Daddy" suffered a 64% sales decline to land at No. 4 with 73,000.
Former chart toppers Linkin Park and Maroon
5 are hanging in there, remaining in the Top 10 another week.[see full

Hecklerspray reports: Now, far be it for us
to suggest that all vegetarians are gaunt, lifeless, protein-deprived morons
who don't realise that chewing on bleeding lumps of dead animal is both
cool and sexy, but there's a definitely a lack of sexy vegetarians around.
Why do we say that? Because animal rights
group PETA has named its annual 'World's Sexiest Vegetarians' list - a
little like trying to find the world's tubbiest anorexic or the world's
most interesting envelope - and the results are so depressing that we're
planning to visit the winners' houses and frisbee lamb chops into their
mouths just to get them disqualified. Why? Because PETA has decided that
this year's World's Sexiest Vegetarians are Carrie Underwood from American
Idol - who was also the World's Sexiest Vegetarian two years ago - and
a bloke so startlingly anonymous that we're not even sure his mother knows
who he is.[see full story for more]- Click
