PR reports: Prompted by enthusiastic crowd
reaction throughout his recent 40-city U.S. tour with Gym Class Heroes,
Virgin Records recording artist k-os has created a special album package,
COLLECTED. The specially-priced album is released on July 17, 2007, coinciding
with his summer-long slot on this year’s Vans Warped Tour.
COLLECTED was personally programmed by
k-os, inspired by the immediate embrace of his music on recent tours. Six
tracks were selected from his three albums as a well-rounded introduction
to his new fans, while offering a generous slate of previously-unheard
tracks to longtime followers. The five unreleased tracks highlighting COLLECTED
include "i am;" remixes of two tracks from k-os’s current Virgin Records
album, ATLANTIS – Hymns for Disco, "Sunday Morning" and "Equalizer;" and
k-os’s remix of "Mushaboom," by a fellow Canadian breakthrough artist of
2007, Feist.[see full story for more]- Click

Web site that seamlessly integrates live concert listings, music recommendations
and a simplified, complete user experience, has officially launched today.
“We are the online music resource for die-hard and casual live music fans
to learn about all bands and music events coming to Los Angeles,” freshred.com’s
brainchild, Founder Mayur Khandelwal explains. “We’ve created the most
comprehensive, community-focused, online music search engine allowing users
to browse for venues, bands and music related events all in one place.”
freshred.com features include weekly, customized
newsletters with recommended “Shows of the Week” from music experts, a
venue directory and special promotions including free concert tickets and
prize giveaways from freshred.com’s sponsors. Some of the Web 2.0 tools
that fans will find useful include auto-notices when favorite acts add
a show in LA, RSS feeds and personalized weekly calendars. Unlike other
music sites, which depend on promoters and artists to provide event information,
freshred.com seeks to collect as much listing information as possible.
The site invites venues, bands and promoters to create a username and password
and submit user protected up-to-the-minute show listings, ensuring that
all freshred.com listings are accurate.[see full story for more]-

PR reports: Detroit-based rock four-piece
Ugly has signed with Rock Ridge Music to release its self-titled album
on October 9th. With less than a year under its belt, Ugly already has
an impressive fan base all across the Midwest. Born from the blue-collar
smoke stacks of Detroit, Michigan, Ugly is stitched from the same thread
as infamous Detroit rockers such as Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent
and Kid Rock. Heavy, shredding guitar riffs combined with slamming, skin-penetrating
drum beats meet Teubl’s vocals (which sound as if Ronnie Van Zant, Danny
Joe Brown and Jim Morrison just shared a bottle of whiskey and are singing
from the bottom of their ugly souls).[see full story for more]-
