Contact Music reports: Former US Vice President
AL GORE has hit back at BOB GELDOF's criticisms of his forthcoming Live
8 concerts, insisting the super gigs will be a "wake-up call for the world".
Gore's Live Earth gigs followed Geldof's Live Aid and Live 8 concerts in
1985 and 2005 respectively, which [supposedly were aimed at somehow raising]
awareness of poverty in developing countries.
The Live Earth gigs, which will take place
in cities across all the continents, aim to spread the word of the damage
global warming is doing to the planet. Geldof questioned the need for the
gigs recently, saying, "Why is (Gore) actually organising them? To make
us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that problem
for years. We are all f**king conscious of global warming."
In response, Gore replies, "We will have
very specific goals that will be very significant and hard-hitting.
We will announce those before the concert then empathise them heavily during
the concert. [see full story for more, also look up the one over there

baseball bats descended on the stadium, burning cars and forcing fans and
artists to evacuate.
Underworld's Rick Smith and several others
were seriously injured. Smith was briefly hospitalized in Athens before
returning to the UK for further treatment. No word yet as to whether the

Booking and Decibel Magazine regret to inform you of the cancellation of
Mayhem's "Deconsecrate the States" 2007 U.S. tour that was scheduled to
hit this coming July.
During his recent stint across the US with
fellow countrymen Dimmu Borgir, elder Mayhem member and battery, Hellhammer,
has suffered an unfortunate and serious injury to his right limb. It is
impossible for him to play any time soon as he is currently scheduling
surgery and will need rest and rehabilitation in order to heal his impaired
arm. Being such an indispensable part of the band, fellow members Necrobutcher,
Blasphemer and Attila realized that they are not complete without him and
had no choice but to cancel this current US jaunt.
