Contact Music reports: Rapper EMINEM is set
to shock MARIAH CAREY by releasing a series of scathing tracks about her,
according to reports. The star - real name Marshall Mathers III - has allegedly
drawn inspiration from a brief affair with the singer in 2001 for his new
album. But Carey is upset and has pleaded with label boss L.A. Reid to
stop the tracks from being released.
A source tells OK! magazine, "There is
more than one track that goes into really specific, intimate detail about
what went on between Em and Mariah.
"Mariah wishes she could sue Eminem for
slander. But it's his freedom of speech."[see full story for more]-

about the fracas he got involved in after a gig on Monday night.
The bassist rubbished the media reports

fight with Ashlee Simpson.
Instead, he claims he only punched the
unnamed heckler after being grabbed [as] he left the stage at the Schuba
club. Feeling no regrets, he said he would always defend himself in that
situation.[see full story for more]- Click

AP reports: Platinum and gold records, autographed
posters and even a key to the city all went "Bye Bye Bye" at an auction
as creditors liquidated the assets of boy-band impresario Lou Pearlman.
Hundreds of bidders packed a downtown building
Tuesday for the Chapter 11 bankruptcy sale. The auction was populated mostly
by middle-aged men, not the screaming young girls who drove Pearlman's
bands to multi-platinum success.
Pearlman's assets included memorabilia
from the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync[see full story for more]-

AP reports: West Coast rapper The Game, who
was arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer last year, rejected
a Manhattan prosecutor's offer Wednesday of a guilty plea for a sentence
of time already served.
A guilty plea to the misdemeanor charge
in exchange for the time he spent waiting to go to court would have ended
the case against The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, said his
lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman.[see full story for the explaination of why he

PR reports: Yeah Yeah Yeahs Release The “Is
Is” Ep With Accompanying Live Film July 24th On Dress Up/Fiction. YYYs
= SLUTTY: The drunk, the nerd and the goth strike back with their new EP
of unbridled older material. It all began with an EP back in 2001, and
now YYYs revisit and revel in the five song format a second time round
with Is Is. "I f*cking love EPs!" says Brian Chase. Songs for the EP were
written in 2004 in between touring behind their first record Fever to Tell.
Written amidst one of the most turbulent and emotionally unstable periods
in YYYs history, for whatever reason the angst that colored that point
in time translates erotically into a sexually charged body of songs. On
their choice of producer, Karen O intones; "Nick Launay was the natural
choice having produced PIL Flowers of Romance, collectively a favorite
between us. I put that record on and want to stuff my mouth with raw hamburger
meat.". Is Is is an expression of similar sordid energy, the rawness is
unavoidable and good for you too![see full story for info on the film]-
