PR reports: In COMEDY CENTRAL's new original
series, "Lil' Bush," Dubya is presented as the animated future president,
along with his pals Lil' Condi, Lil' Rummy (voiced by Iggy Pop), Lil' Cheney
and Lil’ Jeb. Hiding out from Bar and George Sr., these precocious prepubescents
are terrorizing the White House and solving the world's problems before
bedtime. "Lil' Bush" premieres on Wednesday, June 13 at 10:30-11:00 p.m.,
only on COMEDY CENTRAL.
COMEDY CENTRAL's doing a heckuva job on
the President. Whether he's squaring off against schoolyard rivals like
Lil' Kim Jong Il, taking a field trip to Iraq, or torturing the lunch-ladies
into serving all-American hot dogs everyday, Lil' Bush and the gang are
just playing politics. We’ll watch with wonder as they grow up to be real
deciders. If you're looking for laughs -- mission accomplished! [see full

PR reports: Philadelphia’s acclaimed noise
manipulators / Translation Loss Recording artist, Rosetta, have completed
their highly anticipated follow up to their 2005 release The Galilean Satellites
entitled Wake/Lift! Wake/Lift was co-engineered by Colin Marston of Dysrhythmia
/ Behold The Arctopus and Matt Weed of Rosetta. Matt Weed of Rosetta explains:
“Wake/Lift is the first that we haven't
engineered completely by ourselves, and also our first to analog tape.
Colin Marston of Dysrhythmia took care of the drums for us, and we're tracking
everything else in our own (Jane Doll) studio. The production has jumped
up a few notches since our earlier records --- just due to outside insight,
some new gear, and a ton more experience on our part. In the end, it won't
sound "slick" because we're not into that, but we are shooting for as much
clarity as possible. We want it to have a wide-open quality, but still
be dynamic enough to smack people in the face.”
Wake/Lift will see a fall release and be
garnished by artwork from the highly praised Philadelphia artist Paul Romano
(Mastodon, The Red Chord, A Life Once Lost, etc.) Rosetta’s Wake/Lift will
be released on CD and Limited Edition Double LP.

PR reports: Billy Joe Shaver’s been thinking
about making a spiritual album for a long time, but like everything in
his life, he approaches spirituality on his own terms. “Somebody called
this album ‘honky tonk Gospel,’” Shaver says chuckling. “I kinda like that.”
Shaver is describing Everybody’s Brother, his August 7, 2007 release on
Compadre Records, a division of Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment.
Producer John Carter Cash, son of Shaver’s
pal Johnny Cash, added his own studio polish to the project, while capturing
all the rowdy energy of Shaver’s live performances. Cash commented: ““Billy
Joe Shaver is the last of his breed. Since I was a young child, I have
known him, and now having the chance to work with him in the studio as
a producer, I have learned his heart. Billy Joe is the kind of man who
will go the extra mile for a friend... Give his coat when asked for his
shirt. I love Billy Joe, and will always treasure the memories of working
with him.”[see full story for more]- Click

PR reports: As a reaction to the outcry of
internet radio stations about the recently-proposed royalty rate hike,
SoundExchange offered up the Small Webcaster Settlement Act (SWSA) on May
22nd as a cushion for these companies. This supposed act of grace by SoundExchange,
the company that collects and distributes royalties from internet radio,
would give small internet webcasters three more years before having to
pay the increase, while the “bigger” internet stations would still be accountable
to shell out their amplified royalty fees in mid-July.
By allowing small internet radio stations
until 2010 to pay the more-than-doubled royalty rates, the SWSA would give
these companies more time to develop their business. Being that internet
radio is very young, it only makes sense; their business plans are immature
and their revenue potential is not yet realized. As of now, many internet
radio companies are not prepared to pay this inflated amount.
Tom Cheney, owner of idobi Radio, dares
to say they never will be.
“Their proposal would only delay the current
state of affairs,” said Cheney. Idobi Radio, an internet radio station
that is well known for shows like Man of the Hour (hosted by Simple Plan’s
Sebastian Lefebvre and Patrick Langlois of Role Model clothing) and DJ
Rossstar’s Punk Rock Show, has been around for eight years and has thousands
of devoted listeners.[see full story for more]- Click
