peddling a “sad, pitiful, shallow version” of his own work.
Way tells Rock Sound magazine, “If Elvis
Costello said we sucked we would think about it a bit but usually it is

Jam! reports: After little more than a decade
together -- much of it spent dodging the slings and arrows of critics and
other self-styled musical purists -- the members of Alberta hard-rock act
Nickelback are being honoured with a spot on Canada's Walk of Fame.
This should come as a surprise to absolutely
no one, really. Over the past six years or so, the band has racked up a
truly impressive array of awards and chart designations, including several
Juno, Billboard, and American Music Awards, as well as four Grammy nominations
and a cool 21 million in record sales. After the Walk of Fame ceremony
in Toronto on Saturday and a trip to the MuchMusic Video Awards (they're
up for five) on June 17, the band will wrap up some 17 months of touring
with another North American leg that is almost certain to go into extra
innings. [see full story for more including some comments from the band]-

Lambgoat reports: New York hardcore band Full
Blown Chaos has officially signed with Ferret Music. The group will release
their next full-length, "Heavy Lies The Crown," with Ferret in August.
Singer Ray Mazzola comments:
"We spoke to a lot of labels and a lot
of big players made offers but no band on Ferret we've known has had bad
dealings or picked up and left on bad terms, there's a lot to say about
that. We needed a label that is going to work as hard as us, you can only
go so far if your team doesn't put as much into your band as you do and
we feel we have that with Ferret."[see full story for more heavy news]-
