Contact Music reports: British singer AMY
WINEHOUSE managed to sink to even lower depths than she had before with
fans, after a catastrophic 'performance' in Cornwall.
The REHAB singer was appearing at the Eden
Project this week - her first gig for two weeks after claiming "exhaustion"
- when she dashed off stage during her first few songs.
In front of a frustrated and confused crowd,
Amy then returned and proceeded to slap herself around the face and bash
the microphone on her head. According to the Sun, she then forgot the lyrics
to her songs, spat into the crowd and mumbled swear words.-

AP reports: Jon Bon Jovi wants the owner of
the Mijovi energy drink to change its name, arguing it is too similar to
his famous moniker.
But Marcos Carrington says his coffee-based
energy drink is named after his girlfriend, whose name is Jovita, not the
45-year-old rocker.
In a Jan. 22 letter, Los Angeles lawyer
Peter Laird, representing Bon Jovi, objected to the word "Mijovi" as well
as other words "itsmijovi" and "itsmilife" that appear in the company's
marketing materials and on the can. Rather than use Carrington's spelling,
the letter used the phrases, "It's My Jovi" and "It's My Life."-

Contact Music reports: The producers of hit
new TV karaoke contest THE SINGING BEE have been banned from using THE
BEATLES and THE FOUR SEASONS hits on the show. The fun show, hosted by
former 'N Sync star Joey Fatone, gives audience members the chance to croon
hit songs, and fill in the words when the karaoke screen goes blank.
The show has become a big hit in America,
but some music industry executives are far from impressed - and they've
refused to clear the classics for use on the programme.
Producer Phil Gurin says, "There are certain
artists who just don't clear for these kinds of shows - The Beatles being
the number one. [ah, but they can misuse Beatles songs to sell crap on
TV?] - who
needs the Beatles? find out who they got instead!

PR reports: You've probably been asking yourself
two questions lately. When in the hell is Lily Allen going to be touring
in the US again and why hasn't Nike put out a special American themed Lily
Allen shoe yet? We have answers to both questions for you.
Allen will be returning to US shores in
September for a string of West Coast dates kicking off on the 6th in San
Diego, from there she will hit Vegas, Anaheim, San Fran, Portland before
hitting Seattle on the 15th.
You're probably saying that's all well
and good but what about those nifty Nikes? Seems the shoe giant asked Lily
to design a signature version of the Air Max 90 shoe. Lily opted for a
patriotic American theme for the shoes which will be red, white and blue
and have stars on the laces so if you don't buy them you will be helping
the terrorists.- boss!

Fans who bought the limited edition seven-inch

the record over. And the band members are similarly confused, because the
B-side should have featured an etching and no music at all.

antiMusic reports: Fame sucks for Mike Skinner,
a.k.a. The Streets. The critically acclaimed artist broke the news to fans
via his Myspace blog that the price of fame will cost them. The currency
will be their patience as the new Streets album isn't likely to street
until 2008, due mainly to the ubber stress of fame foisted on Skinner.
Skinner writes: Making an album when you're
quite well known is a bit stressful. I've had to accept this week that
because my album isn't quite right yet it won't be coming out this year.
I think I've got the makings of a great
record, but I've been working so hard on it my head is spinning at the
end of every day and when I wake up each morning the first thing I feel
is panic.- more

antiMusic reports: Shavo Odadjian has assured
fans that System of a Down is not over. He reassured fans even more by
saying "System is alive and well." before pulling the carpet out from under
their hopes by adding, " We're just not working together right now."
Shavo was speaking to Launch when he made
the revelations that the System is still intact, just out of order at the
moment. "We kind of like split up at first, but you know, we're brothers,
man, we'll take bullets for each other. So it's like, you kind of miss
each other after a while and you, one guy makes the first move, then another
starts making phone calls....this is a juggernaut, man. System Of A Down
is my lifeline. It'll never go away. We could not make a record for 10
years that's not gonna happen, but I'm just saying we could and we'll
come back strong."- find

Gigwise reports: Enigmatic Tool frontman Maynard
James Keenan has labelled heavy rock music as "sinking" and "dying."
Keenan was speaking about his new side
project 'Pusicfer' when he made the damning comments about the genre.
He said that Puscifer is: "my attempt to
make music to inspire people. Heavy rock is sinking, the industry is dying.
This is definitely not thinking man's music."
Unlike his previous offshoot, A Perfect
Circle, Keenan maintains that Puscifer is more of a collaboration than
a real band. The collective features the likes of Primus drummer Tim Alexander,
with Lisa Germano and actress Milla Jovovich on vocal dutire. -
