SeaHags
Reissue |
sleazeroxx.com reports: Hello, everybody,
this is Ron Yocom of the SeaHags…. I would like to let you know that the
SeaHags first LP is being re-issued on Rock Candy Records (London) February
2007. The package will include 3 previously unreleased tracks from the
3 piece version of the SeaHags featuring Greg Langston on drums. I would
tell you the tracks, but Rock Candy hasn't told me yet! Also, it will have
a 16-page booklet and a 5,000 word essay on the history of the band. There
has been a lot of misinformation on the internet concerning the SeaHags.
This is partly my fault for being frozen for several years, but I am getting
caught up now.[see full story for more]- Click

Grave Skitzo |
UnEarthed reports: Open Grave Records is please
to announce today the signing of legendary thrash metal artist, Skitzo.
A notorious name amongst Bay Area Thrash
/ Crossover circles, SKITZO are renowned for their outrageous stage shows
and publicity moves. Front man Lance Ozanix has proven to be the mainstay
of the band which has issued a prodigious body of, mainly self financed,
work. Ozanix gained fame by vomiting onto a groupie on the 'Jerry Springer'
TV show, causing the Canadian authorities to ban the offending show. His
exploits have also been featured on 'Ripley's Believe It Or Not'. Onstage
the band employs "Puke groupies" Octavia and Sunny Delight.
Now after 26 years, 16 albums, 68 band
members and over 4000 shows, Open Grave Records will be releasing SKITZO's
17th CD titled "Five Point Containment" in the Spring of 2007.[see full

Mullets
In Love |
PR reports: Rising majestically, like a great
feathery blow-dried phoenix from the ashes of double-wides and El Caminos
coast-to-coast, is the most important rock movement of the 21st century.
So cast off your seat belts, grab a 40 and some beef jerky from the WaWa
store, dust off those Blue Öyster Cult and Ted Nugent 8-track cartridges,
and let the cruisin' begin. The love song of the Mullet is in the air,
with the Ides Of March and the first blush of springtime right around the
corner.
The lesson of MULLETS ROCK! TOO!: MULLETS
IN LOVE reads loud and clear: Mullets are human, too. If you prick us,
do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you plays us Boston
and Cheap Trick, do we not rock? This specially assembled 18-song bouquet
- the closest that any raving mullethead will come to true romance this
year - will arrive in record stores, convenience marts, participating car
washes and lube centers March 6th on Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony
Bmg Music Entertainment.[see full story for tracklisting]-

Spirit of Joe Ross |
PR reports: Following his 2006 "Festival Time
Again" album of original songs, a new album entitled, "The Spirit of St.
Louis" will be released January 15, 2007 on the Zephyr Records label by
Oregon musician Joe Ross. The 12-track album features eleven original Bluegrass
and Americana songs written by Ross during the past three decades, as well
as a novel arrangement of the traditional "St. Anne's Reel" with autoharp,
whistle, mandolin, Japanese koto, and more. The title cut tells the story
and celebrates the 80th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh's famous trans-Atlantic
solo flight from New York to Paris in 1927.
A multi-instrumentalist, Joe Ross plays
guitar, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, upright bass, and keys on the project.

Chip
Taylor Reissued |
PR reports: Chip Taylor, best known for penning
hits like “Wild Thing” and “Angel of the Morning” as well as his more recent
critically acclaimed duo albums with Carrie Rodriguez, had a nearly secret
recording career in the 1970s. Signed to Warner Bros. as a solo artist,
Chip recorded three country albums, the last of which – This Side of the
Big River – is about to be reissued on Collectors’ Choice Music on February
20.
The trouble with Chip Taylor recording
country albums — other than that he was a New York native known for rock
and pop hits — was that Warner Bros. Records didn’t have a Nashville division
at the time. Taylor was Warner Nashville’s first artist. A song from his
1974 album Some of Us titled “Me As I Am” was the label’s first charting
country record. Still, the albums themselves did little, and Taylor feared
he’d be dropped after his two-album contract expired. Ah, but it pays to
have fans at the label. A promotion man who’d been asked to stop promoting
the Taylor album had promoted it on his own time at night, catapulting
the song onto the charts. Finally the head of the Nashville division said,
“How the hell can we drop Chip Taylor? He’s our first country hit artist.”
So he got to record a third album: This Side of the River. [see full story
