Pete
Yorn's 07 Tour |
Columbia Records reports: With his critically-acclaimed
new album, Nightcrawler, in stores now, singer-songwriter Pete Yorn will
headline a major North American tour beginning February 6 in Boise, Idaho.
The upcoming concert dates mark Yorn's
first performances since a set of successful dates opening for the Dixie
Chicks earlier this year and his first major concert appearances, with
full band, since the release of Nightcrawler in August 2006.
Drawing its name from Yorn's much-heralded
album trilogy -- musicforthemorningafter (2001), Day I Forgot (2003), and
Nightcrawler (2006) -- "The Morning, Day, and Night Tour" will showcase
songs from all three albums as well as the dynamic cover choices and other
musical surprises that make every Pete Yorn concert a unique and compelling
event.[see full story for dates]- Click

Iron
Maiden Set US DVD Release |
Chipster reports: Released nearly a year ago
in their native England, Iron Maiden's latest live DVD, 'Death on the Road,'
will finally be receiving a much-deserved U.S. release on January 30th.
Filmed at the Westenfalenhalle Arena in Dortmund, Germany, the performance
was personally edited by founding member/bassist Steve Harris, to fully
capture the magnificent stage production and to cut right to the heart
and the electricity of the band's performance.
'We realize that the fans have been made
to wait a little longer than planned for the DVD to come out," admits Harris.
"We won't settle for anything but the best and the extra time and effort
spent in the final production of this DVD should be apparent. I can safely
say that when people see songs like 'Paschendale' and 'Dance Of Death'
their jaws will hit the floor as mine did when I saw the final product
on my TV at home. With visuals like this and the show played in 5.1 on
a decent system it's just like being in the front rows of the show." [see

Paris
DUI Plea |
TMZ reports: TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton
has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence in Hollywood
on September 7.
The heiress was not present at today's
hearing in a Los Angeles County courtroom, but an attorney representing
Hilton entered the plea.
TMZ first reported that LAPD officers noticed
Paris driving her Mercedes McLaren SLR erratically at 12:31 AM and stopped
her. They believed she exhibited signs of intoxication. We're told they
administered a field sobriety test, and Paris blew a .08. In California,
driving with a .08 blood alcohol level is the minimum level for DUI.[see

Brokedowns
Get Thick Deal |
PR reports: Hailing from the mid-sized, semi-urbanized
community of Elgin (otherwise known as Planet Funk), Illinois, roughly
an hour due Northwest of Chicago,The Brokedowns are an essential milestone
for the contemporary punk purist. Forty years after the genre's inception
while countless individuals, crews, and pseudo-bands, are reveling in outdated
retrogressive fashions ,sounds, and cries of unconvincing angst, these
four lads hold it down proper: genuine, aggro, and gritty, with no frills,
and a solid sense of humor to boot. Loosely founded around fast, overdriven,
gravely pop-inclined fist pumping anthems, The Brokedowns play off of a
format that when done right ( a rarity that they enable us to celebrate)
is irresistible. However, it's not all influence; they evidently manage
to incorporate their own stylistic trademarks and twists, subsequently
keeping the razor's edge sharp and fresh. Fans of Dillinger Four, Crimpshrine,
Leatherface, cheap beer, real deal folks, satirical critique, and general
awesomeness should undoubtedly find themselves wrangled in by The Brokedowns
speaker-ripping recordings and raucous live shows. Their debut Thick Records
release is slated for May 8th, 2007 - prepare to have your ear holes and
minds blown- Click

Dead Cow |
PR reports: Rhino Entertainment will release
the Grateful Dead's Live at The Cow Palace, New Year's Eve, 1976 on January
23.
Habitual listeners of the Grateful Dead's
live recordings are known for their ability to identify the year of a performance
by listening to just a few notes. But for even the most "dead"icated listener,
the band's 1976 New Year's Eve concert presents a genuine challenge. Rarely
does any Dead show display the essence of several distinct periods of their
sound, but this release contains the best elements of three or four clearly
defined eras, and the sum of the parts adds up to one of the most interesting
and inspired concerts of the band's 30-year performing career. The Grateful
Dead and Rhino Records ring in 2007 by turning back the clock 30 years
to uncover the musical riches of this special performance with Live At
The Cow Palace, New Year's Eve, 1976.
The three-disc set includes more than 180
minutes of music[see full story for more]- Click
