Atreyu Go Back To School
PR reports: MTV Favorites and Orange County-based rock band ATREYU will be playing a private show at Hollywood's Musicians Institute on Friday, January 12th at 8pm with a Q&A to follow. Student band Stella Vicarious (www.myspace.com/stellvicarious) will be opening for Atreyu at 6:45pm.

Atreyu exploded out of Orange County in 2002. Previously unknown to the rest of the world, the band released their stunning debut album, Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses, grabbing the attention of a wide spectrum of music fans by demolishing the barriers between rock, melodic hardcore and metal. The band's original, unique music hit like a lightning bolt in hard music circles, energizing audiences and redefining the hardcore sound Southern California was known for. Critical raves poured in from publications like LA Times, Guitar World, and Metal Maniacs, who commented, "…the Southern California five-piece brings new definition to overnight success." Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses has scanned 230,000 units and shows no signs of slowing down. - Click Here for the Full Story

Paolo Nutini US Tour
PR reports: Paolo Nutini has announced details of his first full-scale tour of North America. The headlining itinerary heralds the U.S. release of the Scotland-born singer/songwriter's acclaimed debut album, "THESE STREETS." The album - which includes 'New Shoes' - lands in stores on January 30th. Nutini is also slated to make a number of major TV appearances in support of "THESE STREETS", starting on January 30th with a visit to NBC's Today Show plus an appearance that evening on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The Close's Virtual Drummer
PR reports: Even though the Close’s resident drummer Keefe Justice was unable to tour with his band mates on their recent jaunt up the east coast, his projected image kept time right along with them, nailing every beat in cities across North Carolina, Philadelphia, and New York. The tour went off without a hitch, and The Close’s front-man Brooks Meeks tells us that the stunt was very well received by its audiences. Every show ended with the Close exiting the stage, and the projection showing Justice’s band members helping him take down his drums, which earned quite a few laughs. Some might call it cheating, but we call it a comeback. The proof is in the projection at the band’s tour kickoff show at the EARL in its hometown of Atlanta.
