Cornell Quits Audioslave Announced New Solo CD
PR reports: Two-time Grammy winner, singer-songwriter and voice of a generation, Chris Cornell, announced today the release date of his 13th career album, Carry On, in stores May 1st on Suretone/Interscope. Steered by Grammy Award-winning British super-producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Rolling Stones, Morrissey, Dave Matthews Band), Carry On is a mature and content departure from the acrimonious artist who brought us Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog.

Additionally Cornell is permanently departing super-group Audioslave stating, "Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave. I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

RIAA Hinders NIN Marketing Plans?
idolator.com reports: Yesterday, we posted an MP3 of a new Nine Inch Nails song that we found while doing our daily elbo.ws lap; after a brusquely worded note from Antipiracy@riaa.com, we removed the file, and that was that. Or so we thought. Today, we found a NIN-related Digg link that claimed the song had been "found on a usb drive in a bathroom in Portugal," which set off our "painstakingly crafted backstory" alarms. The file we posted yesterday was, in fact, tagged with that little bit of lore, along with a URL; as it turns out, the linked site is one of many viral-marketing outposts for the forthcoming NIN record. Which bolsters our theory that the leak was engineered by someone in the Reznor camp--after all, the number of alt-rock stations has been steadily decreasing for a while now, and labels have to be creative about getting songs that might not get airplay out to the public. SI Get A Beyonce
hecklerspray.com reports: Sports Illustrated - the magazine than nobody actually gives a stuff about except for once a year when it plonks a girl in a bikini on the cover - has just launched its 2007 swimsuit edition, and the lucky cover-girl this year is famed athlete Beyonce.

Beyonce has apparently made history by appearing in this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition because she's the first woman who isn't a model or an athlete to ever grace the SI swimsuit edition cover. And snagging Beyonce is certainly something Sports Illustrated wants to brag about; as Beyonce poses in a yellow and pink bikini the magazine cover screams 'The Dreamgirl As You've Never Seen Her!' which is certainly true - unless you've seen the video to Survivor, the Pepsi adverts she did, any number of paparazzi shots of her in a bikini or haven't spent the last five years locked away in an entirely sensory deprived environment. Impaled Nazarene Banned
SMN reports: IMPALED NAZARENE’s album “Nihil” officially entered Germany´s Index list A on January 17, effectively implying that the band’s album is officially banned in Germany. A note from the friendly lot is as follows:

"Looking back on 2006 and 2005, being unable to play concerts in Italy, Austria, France, Poland and Germany, one can only conclude that Freedom of speech and Freedom of religion, things that are supposed to be the foundation of the European Union, are not existing. Your lives are terrorized by deranged catholic sects and glue sniffing communists. Braindead imbeciles tell you what you should/what you cannot listen to, read or watch. Bolt Thrower: Earache is just an "Assache"

Metal Review: Who do you like less these days, Metal Blade or Earache?

Karl Willets: F**king Earache. On a personal level we get along pretty well with Metal Blade. Earache is just an “Assache” as I call them. They’ve re-released */Realm of Chaos/* with a new sleeve without our permission and a compilation album */Who Dares Wins/* without our permission. They are not liked by us and have no respect from me.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
