Dark
Side of the Moon Tour |
SMN reports: Roger Waters will follow up his
fall North American tour performing “Dark Side of the Moon” in its entirety
with a spring run, kicking off May 18 in West Palm Beach, Fla. The PINK
FLOYD principal will be backed by a six-piece band, which includes his
son Harry on Hammond organ, and three vocalists.
Waters first tested the “Dark Side” concept
with a European tour last summer, then visited North America in the fall.
Sans Waters, PINK FLOYD performed “Dark Side of the Moon” in full for the
first time during its 1994 tour in support of “The Division Bell.” With
Waters back in the fold, the band performed the “Dark Side” tracks “Breathe”
and “Money” as part of its four-song set at Live 8 in 2005.

Good
Enough For Grammys but Not For Karaoke Idol |
TMZ reports: Robyn Troup was good enough to
sing with Justin Timberlake on the Grammys on Sunday, but she was canned
from the Hollywood hopefuls on last night's "American Idol."
With her "Idol" rejection taped long before
she won the "My Grammy Moment" contest, Troup had a Jennifer Hudson moment
by landing a major break after getting the "Idol" ax. Now, it's either
a record deal for the 18-year-old Houston native -- or a trip to "The Surreal
Life." Good luck!- Click

Reliving Past Glory |
PR reports: The Summer Of Love 40th Anniversary
Concert will take place on Sunday, September 2, 2007, in San Francisco's
Golden Gate Park between 10AM and 6PM. The concert will be a free event
celebrating both the music inspired by the 1967 Summer Of Love and the
consciousness raising efforts of the time. The organization securing the
permit, the non-profit Council of Light, includes members of the original
Family Dog, original Grateful Dead management, FM Radio programmers, media
members and many of the era's poster artists.
Former Family Dog partner and longtime
Chet Helms associate Boots Hughston is serving as coordinator. Former Grateful
Dead manager Rock Scully, along with former president of CTI Records and
manager for Jesse Colin Young, David Bean, are organizing bands, licenses
and sponsors*. The promoters intend to utilize the best in concert
production for the musicians involved, from sound, to stage, to travel
and lodging. While noted musicians from the era will be featured, organizers
welcome bands from the past four decades inspired by the San Francisco
music scene of the 60's. It is anticipated that there will be worldwide
media coverage with live broadcast and streaming possibilities. [*because
we know the summer of love was all about corporate sponsorships!]

Killing
Joke Boxsets |
PR reports: Two fantastic three CD boxsets
of unreleased KILLING JOKE material available April 9th from plastichead
for £12.99 each. Out Monday! Theses CD Box Sets contains the original
KILLING JOKE bootleg vinyl albums which were released in the early to mid
Eighties. They come from a time when you could casually stroll down London's
Portobello Road or Camden Market at the weekend; full of anticipation of
what new bootleg albums might be available that week. Remember this was
a time long before the power of the internet so you had no idea what was
going to be available. Great new live albums would suddenly appear, only
to disappear just as quickly. During this time there were seven KILLING
JOKE bootleg albums released. The three albums here have been carefully
reproduced & digitally re-mastered on CD and are now fully endorsed
by the band for the first time ever, they now sound better then they ever
have sounded before. In addition, as part of this box set release a special
bonus disc is included. [see full story for more]- Click
