Open Grave Support WM3
Unearthed.com reports: Open Grave Records is pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement with The Free The West Memphis Three Defense Fund that 5% of all sales from the Open Grave Records online store will be donated to the fund. The founders of Open Grave Records have always been big supports of the WM3, and are pleased to be able support their cause and to offer this great incentive to their customers.

The West Memphis Three (also known as WM3) are three boys (now men) from West Memphis, Arkansas. When they where teens they had been convicted of murders that they did not commit based on false evidence and the fact they liked "Heavy Metal" music. Today all three live behind bars, with one being giving the death sentence. [see

Kaiser Chiefs Irony
hecklerspray reports: Drenched in a fog of our tears and laughter, we bring you news that Kaiser Chiefs consider the world of music to be too average. That’s right, the pot has just started on the kettle, “You’re black, son. Take it!”

For anyone so confused as to be standing by their telephone dialing the Press Complaints Commission, that was not a racist slur but an age-old idiom about hypocrisy. Kaiser Chiefs have a bloody nerve. The insincerity of labelling other peoples’ music ‘average’ when their own sounds like The Sons of Status Quo remixed fifteen times over.

Even then we don’t hate the Kaiser Chiefs. You can’t deny they pen a jolly ditty for the emo school disco, but they have got to know their place. Currently twelve miles south of Mediocre in a little town called Insipid.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Doomsday for Six Feet Under
Metal Blade reports: A brand new SIX FEET UNDER track, entitled "Doomsday", is available for download at the full story link. The track appears on the group's new album, "Commandment", due April 17th from Metal Blade Records.

In a recent interview with Mark Carras of RockMyMonkey.com, SIX FEET UNDER bassist Terry Butler stated about the upcoming CD, "I would say, if I had to describe the new style, it would be 'Maximum Violence' meets 'Haunted'. . . I'm really psyched about it. I really liked it. We had a good writing experience. We wrote all the music in the studio and it just flowed through. It's pretty upbeat the whole time, but there's some really catchy, groovy riffs. I think SFU fans are going to like it a lot, especially some of the older, the people who've been around for a long time listening to us, it will satisfy them. The last couple records we've kind of, I don't want to say gotten off our style, but we've always tried to be a little bit different. We didn't want to always just put ten records that sounded like 'Haunted'. So we just kind of, I don't want to say experimented, but we just kind of messed around a little bit, certain styles, but I think this is kind of back to what our fans would expect." - Click Here for the Full Story

Ligion Debut Set
http://wwww.iconmes.com/ligion_video/on_the_wayascap-doesnt-want-labels-to-promote-their-artists-go-with-bmi-next-time reports: Rock & roll triumphs are rare. But by nicking choice elements from the genre’s checkered past and fusing it with raw power and sexual energy, Ligion’s invigorating Maple Jam/Bellum Records debut is just that. Spitting out a vital, dexterous eleven-song cycle that runs the gamut from infectious, rock radio gems to pensive, Zippo lighter-ready epics, Ligion has the potential to gather the masses. Crafted with the help of veteran rock producer Greg Ladanyi, this Nashville-based five piece fills a void as it resets expectations of what a modern rock album can be with 2007’s fiery entry External Affairs.

"In an age when your best two songs from a record can be downloaded for a buck, we wanted to keep some of that integrity with an album that you’d want to listen to from track one to track eleven," says guitarist June, who co-wrote the record with frontman and band namesake Ligion. And it’s that approach, evident on the pulsing, contagious and hopeful anthem "On The Way" and the reflective "Pins And Needles" alike, that helps the quintet – which also counts inventive guitarist Seth and its rhythm axis of drummer Johannes and bassist Levi – shimmer like stardust as it kicks and screams for your attention. Aerosmith Disown Hits CDs
Blabbermouth reports: U.K.'s Uncut magazine (web site) conducted an interview with AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry for its February 2007 issue. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

Uncut: What's the best AEROSMITH album and the worst?

Tyler: The best would have to be "Toys in the Attic" (1975) or "Rocks" (1976). Then again "Pump" (1989) is pretty amazing. There's a few AEROSMITH albums I choose not to remember anymore. But the worst would have to be one of those many "Greatest Hits" that the record company put out in the '90s without our permission when we should have had our eyes on the ball but were, ahem, otherwise occupied.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Today's Reviews
....Steven Seagal - Songs from the Crystal Cave
With "Songs from the Crystal Cave" action actor Steven Seagal not only shows a softer side to his violent acting world; but also, that he is more than just a one dimensional character. (4 stars) - Read the full Steven Seagal - Songs from the Crystal Cave review

....The Black Keys – Magic Potion
If you like bluesy beats and coarse, gritty vocals, then the Black Keys are for you. They keep their obvious roots of blues rock alive… remind one of being in a darkened, smoky blues hall listening to Ray Charles or any number of Blues kings at their peak. (3 stars) - Read the full The Black Keys – Magic Potion review

....Royal Hunt - Paper Blood
Royal Hunt is probably one of the most underrated prog metal bands in existence today. Chalk it up to their label, country of origin (Denmark)- the point is that ignoring this masterful group is a criminal act and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.- Read the full Royal Hunt - Paper Blood review
