Dark Tranquillity Set April Release
PR reports: Swedish melodic death metal pioneers DARK TRANQUILLITY triumphantly return with “Fiction” in April 2007, an album that will undoubtedly add an exhilarating new chapter to the bands career. The album was mixed by Tue Madsen (Himsa, The Haunted) and encompasses all of the elements on which the band built their career: thought-provoking lyrics, shredding guitar work, captivating melodies and sheer brutality. This offering is perhaps best compared to a modern-day version of the group’s revered classics “The Gallery” and “The Mind’s I”, only with more intensity behind it. The blueprint of melodic death metal is now at your fingertips.

In late March 2007, DARK TRANQUILLITY kick off the touring cycle for “Fiction” with a massive co-headlining U.S. run with The Haunted and Into Eternity followed by European summer festivals and a full length tour in autumn, revitalizing the genre they helped to create and further cementing their status as one of the scene’s most influential metal bands.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Dam Almost Done
PR reports: London extreme metallers DAM's next album is in the final stages of production of their second album, titled "The Difference Engine" to be released by CANDLELIGHT RECORDS later this year. Guitarist/Vocalist Nathan speaks about the album: "After several long months of writing, recording, mixing, re-recording, re-mixing, arguing, soul-searching, and returning to old mixes, we are finally coming to a stage where the fruit of all our efforts is in sight. The guitars sound massive. The feel of the music itself is epic. We've brought in some extra special guest performers who have made sterling contributions to some of the songs on the album. The recording itself was made in part in London's Eastcote Studios with Finnish producer Anders Nuberg at the helm, and I think his unique approach has produced exceptional results."

An advance non-finalised version of the title track has been made available on the band's myspace page [see full story link]- Click Here for the Full Story

Onslaught Injury
PR reports: The reformed lineup of the classic U.K. thrash outfit ONSLAUGHT was forced to halt its show in Thessaloniki, Greece on Saturday (January 27) due to an injury sustained to a stage-diver.

Commented the group's vocalist, Sy Keeler: "While we encourage audience participation at our shows, you have all got to look out for one another. The fan was about to perform a backflip into the mass which was the pit when he slipped and mashed his head against the stage and knocked himself out, forcing us to halt proceedings for five minutes while he recieved medical attention. We really thought we'd witnessed a serious injury, but within minutes he was back on his feet. I must add that the pit crew/security were second to none with their work helping people stay safe; this was just an unfortunate accident. I am pleased to report he made a full recovery in time to witness NAPALM DEATH."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

YouTube Pussy Ban
PR reports: Ongoing efforts by the Political Correctness Police to ban the new hot-button music video from critically acclaimed “dirty folk” comic JESSICA DELFINO are instead having an adverse effect on its mounting popularity. The video’s resilience to a recent Catholic League denouncement, coupled with its prior resurrection from YouTube banishment, is further vindication. Nothing can seemingly stop the power of MY PUSSY IS MAGIC.

Since its latest YouTube reinstatement, over 45,000 viewers have flocked to the wildly popular website to see what the Catholic-raised woman named “Best Potty-Mouthed, Guitar-Slinging Comedian of 2005” by the Village Voice has conjured with director Matt Davis (Mad TV, Martin Short’s Primetime Glick, MTV’s upcoming Human Giant). Thousands more websites also have linked, including ComedyCentral.com, Gawker.com and Denmark’s VKmag.com.

MY PUSSY IS MAGIC was hastily yanked from YouTube the day after Google snatched the site for $1.65 billion. Delfino since has been twice reinstated amid an alternate title change to Jessica Delfino Is Magic. Loose lips can’t sink this ship see it at the full story link.- Click Here for the Full Story

Today's Reviews
Drookit Dogs(Artist of the Month)
Holy Mother of Guinness, do I love this band! Coming across with all the bluster of The Clash mixed with the cheekiness of The Pogues. Or perhaps Richard Thompson if he was injected with a huge dose of Paul Weller. (5 stars) - Read the full Drookit Dogs review

Sydera(Artist of the Month)
In many ways, Sydera's self-titled debut is everything mainstream heavy metal should be. The vocals are melodic, the rhythm guitars slam with solid-not-showboating riffs, the solos add to the songs, the lyrics work and classical piano and strings add a nice touch. (4.5 stars) - Read the full Sydera review

Black Sabbath - Tyr
The band's fifteenth album, Tyr, is the valorous continuation of Sabbath's legacy in the form of other Tony Martin albums with epic music, soaring vocals and spell-binding lyrics.- Read the full Black Sabbath - Tyr review
