Edwin McCain Junk'd
PR reports: While shooting an episode of Junk'd, the makeover show with a twist, Platinum-selling musician Edwin McCain, whose song "I'll Be" has been voted "best wedding song" by more than one million viewers of "Dr. Phil," crushed one of the host's pick-up trucks.

Each Junk'd episode plays a joke on a homeowner in the form of a home makeover gone bad, and ends with the makeover being completed to perfection after the homeowner's reaction to being "junk'd" is caught on tape.

The normally laid-back environmentalist who was the victim in the Junk'd episode, McCain appeared to be so upset with being "junk'd" that he called in his form of justice – a monster truck – and proceeded to crush the pick-up belonging to Bret "Skip" Skipper, one of the show's hosts and producers, before Skipper's disbelieving eyes.- View the video clip

Junk Science Preview
PR reports: On "Jerry McGuire," the single to Junk Science's upcoming sophomore album "Gran'Dad's Nerve Tonic," MC Baje One gives disgruntled employees everywhere a 12-step program to quitting their tedious, obnoxious, and/or underpaid jobs.

"There's gotta be something better to do/than working harder than these folks who's living better than you," encourages Baje, the self-proclaimed "Pied Piper of unemployment." Even if you like your job, you can still enjoy the soulful samples, smooth flow, and mellow but rebellious hook.

Junk Science is Baje One on the mic and DJ Snafu on the beats. Simple. Their sophomore record, Gran'Dad's Nerve Tonic, is due out on October 23rd on Definitive Jux (licensed from Brooklyn's Embedded Music). In promotion of the record, and in keeping with Junk Science and (Embedded Music CEO) DJ Ese's love of beer, the three have teamed up with up-and-coming Brooklyn brewery Six Points Craft Ales to create a limited-release brew to coincide with the release of the album. Be on the lookout for it in your local bar.

They have recorded and released an exciting new CD, Colorado To Liverpool - A Tribute To The Beatles that features acoustic versions of eleven classic Beatles songs.

This respectful, reverent and fun CD was a direct result of three informal performances by Firefall Acoustic on a top radio station in Denver, CO.: the listener response was so immediate and positive that they decided to record their own versions of timeless tunes. Firefall, one of the best known vocal bands of the 1970s, pays homage to 'the best band ever' in a fresh intimate acoustic setting. It is a superior and unique work on many levels. The Biz: Convenience or Ripoff?
antiMusic reports: In this week's The Biz editorial Anthony Kuzminski looks at the high cost of "convenience" and what the Ticketmaster Live Nation split might change if Live Nation is smart. Here is part of the article: It was reported last week that short of a miracle, Ticketmaster will lose its biggest client at the end of 2008; Live Nation (formerly known as Clear Channel). Is this a good or bad move for consumers? It is anyone's guess, but I am hoping and praying that it is for the better. I still see a lot of concerts, but very often use alternate means to get my tickets so I can get around paying the exorbitant service charges.

Why do I do this? I'll break it down for you based on a truly horrendous experience I had in the summer of 2003. At the time, the huge outdoor amphitheater outside of Chicago in Tinley Park was known as the Tweeter Center. The Counting Crows and John Mayer were in the midst of a co-headlining tour and played to their largest paying crowds of their careers up to that point (approximately 30,000 seats were sold).

I scored a ticket in the twentieth row a few days earlier and I was delighted until I checked out. Face value on the tickets were $36.50 and somehow, my final bill was $59.50 for one ticket. How can this be?- Let me break it down for you.
