PR reports: Rock In Asia is 17 original rock
tunes conjured up by the most innovative and established rockers from Japan,
China, Singapore, India and other Asian lands! While most compositions
are in English, some dare to shatter the linguistic divide in rock by blitzing
your senses in Asian tongues. Wait no more... Sample... sizzle... succumb...
Since the 1960's rock music has made a
profound impression on popular culture, influencing attitudes and aesthetics
with its unapologetic audacity. The influence of rock music on fashion,
film, art and literature throughout the decades has been seen around the
world. Asia has been no exception. This compelling album demonstrates the
power and passion of the rock music wave and its pervasive effect on artists
and music in Asia today!

PR reports: Former Mineral and The Gloria
Record frontman returns to his songwriting roots for debut album with new
band, Zookeeper. Tour with Umbrellas and The Good Life upcoming.
Chris Simpson, former songwriter and frontman
for two influential late '90s bands, knows a few things about breaking
up. After disbanding post-punk emo progenitor Mineral just after the band
signed to a major, and taking an indefinite hiatus from shoegazer follow-up
The Gloria Record midway through recording a fourth record, he virtually
disappeared from the music scene for two years.
It is this quiet period of Simpson's career
that has proven his most prolific to date. It allowed him time to step
back, regroup, and remember what he loved about music in the first place
- penning songs and performing acoustically, just as he had done as a teenager
in his hometown of Denver. He bought and became enchanted with a piano.-

PR reports: On August 28, 2007, Concord Jazz
will release Anthem, the highly anticipated sophomore album from Grammy-nominated
trumpeter Christian Scott. Anthem is a powerful collection of 12 tracks
teeming indie-rock, neo-soul, hip-hop and jazz and features an appearance
by Brother J of X-Clan on the finale track "Anthem (Postdiluvial Adaptation)".
The tracks on the album give us a taste
of Christian's hometown, New Orleans, and the havoc wreaked by Hurricane
Katrina, however it also reflects the many changes Scott has gone through
since releasing his debut album in 2006.
"My life changed completely. So, the compositions
on Anthem aren't just about one thing" he says. "There's something here
for everybody so that everyone can hear their own personal anthems."-

PR reports: Armed with ragged confessionals
and indie rock licks, Eulogies will hit the road with the experimental
jazz/rock Benevento/Russo Duo in late October. The songwriting vehicle
for Dangerbird Records co-founder Peter Walker, Eulogies' eponymous debut
album will be released on the thriving L.A. indie, September 11.
Eulogies is an accomplished new step in
Walker's career, showcasing his newfound confidence as a band leader/member.
Joined together by bassist Tim Hutton and drummer Chris Reynolds, the trio's
13-song collection and newfound moniker resulted from 30 shows in 40 days.
Crammed in a van withstanding long drives to opening slots, the album vividly
emulates the obvious chemistry that only such conditions can create. -
