BW&BK reports: The Pulse Of Radio has
issued the following report from Don Kaye:
Now that ROB ZOMBIE has completed work
on his third film as a writer and director, a remake of the horror classic
Halloween, the rocker-turned-filmmaker is setting his sights on the road.
Zombie told us that he'll go on tour in
October and stay out for a couple of months before turning to his next
project: "Me and the guys have been talking, and we're, like, you know,
gonna start rehearsing soon and, you know, we'll be back on the road in
October.
"We'll probably quit right around Christmas
time, take a break for that, and then who knows what --maybe make a new
record or start another movie or something, I don't know."

smackdown; Britney Spears recent Vegas lovefest aside.

PR reports: Portugal. The Man's just-released
album "Church Mouth" (July 24, Fearless) put the band onto the Billboard
charts for the first time in their career - and not on just one chart,
but FOUR. "Church Mouth" debuted at lucky #13 on Billboard's Top Alternative
New Artists chart, at #30 on the Top New Artist Chart, #65 on the Independent
Label Chart, and came in at #90 on the Top Hard Music Albums chart.
In addition, dates on the band's current
33-city North American headline tour have either been sold out or near-sold
out with the trio amassing new fans at every show. And the media - national,
regional, local, and online - has fallen hard for Portugal. The Man and
"Church Mouth" as evidenced by these reviews:
FOUR-AND-A-HALF STARS - Alternative Press
".compelling music that's actually worth
the buzz it's generating." - OC Weekly
"Portugal. The Man suggests the sort of
thing a young Led Zeppelin might have done in 2007..." - Arizona Republic
"['Church Mouth' is] guaranteed to take
every respective listener's breath away, just like the sprawling, glacier-dotted
landscapes of the band's native Alaska." - antiMusic.com-

PR reports: RockMyMonkey.com recently conducted
an interview with Obituary vocalist John Tardy where they discussed how
downloading effects artists, how their former label Roadrunner helped pirate
their album and some of the steps labels are taking to stop music from
leaking.
Rock My Monkey: What do you think hurts
the music industry more? Bad choices inspired by their paranoia, or actual
downloading? - John Tardy: (laughs)
Rock My Monkey: And this is inspired by
the promo of your album I was sent. - John Tardy: Yeah. Well, you know,
it's tough. I mean, the downloading thing, it's just really brutal. To
be honest with you, it hurts everybody in the industry. Last time around,
one of Roadrunner's brilliant maneuvers, we gave them masters. I think
like the same day they just started emailing MP3s to everybody in the company.
And it was by the end of two days, three months before the album was out,
it was just so available on the Internet, it was [like], why would anybody
go and buy it when you could just get it so easily? This time around Candlelight
did make an extensive attempt to hold back, keep it out of the wrong hands
as long as they could. No MP3s were allowed at all. The promo copies that
they made up were somewhat protected for the most part. You couldn't just
put them in the computer and copy them. But obviously people are going
to find a way around everything. So I know it's out there on the internet
now, and we're just under a month before the release date. But there's
not much you can do about it. I just hope that people. if they want to
see their bands stick around and continue, hopefully they'll go out and
purchase a record if it's something they like.- the

you to disagree Metalocalypse: Dethklok's "Dethalbum" is the heaviest
record
ever!
To coincide with the premiere of the second
season of Metalocalypse on Adult Swim and release of Metalocalypse Season
1 on DVD, a regular and a deluxe CD edition of "Dethalbum" will be released.

brutal tracks, the animated video for the utterly brutal single "Bloodrocuted,"
