Prince
Vs Paris |
TMZ reports: Prince challenged Paris to a
sing-off at his Las Vegas show -- and Paris Hilton couldn't step up, if
a report in Us is to be believed. The hotel heiress was in the audience
at Prince's Club 3121 show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas,
and Prince invited her onstage. When, according to Us, she skipped up to
take her place in the spotlight, Prince handed her a mic and called out
to the crowd, "Let's see if she can really sing," a challenge that so dismayed
Paris that she ended up ditching the stage and leaving just two songs later.
Paris' rep denies the incident.- Click

Own
a Piece of Pantera History |
Blabbermouth reports: A prototype Fernandes
signature bass guitar used by Rex Brown (DOWN, PANTERA) during the recording
and promotion of PANTERA's "The Great Southern Trendkill" album as well
as the "Official Live: 101 Proof" tour is up for sale on eBay. The seller's
statement about the bass reads as follows: "There are many tablature books
out there, but here is something that made the PANTERA sound. Here is your
chance to own an actual piece of the PANTERA empire. This bass is being
sold by Rex, not a collector or investor. Rex is selling it because basically
it's just been sitting sealed up in a storage unit since the PANTERA days
and deserves a much better fate. Don't pass on this rare opportunity. I
am the official PANTERA and DOWN webmaster and I am running this auction
for Rex while he is in the studio with DOWN, recording their third album.[see

Pain
of Salvation Lose Member |
Blabbermouth reports: Sweden's PAIN OF SALVATION
has issued the following update:
"We are sad to announce that Johan Langell
[drums] has decided to leave the band, to focus on family. This is not
a sudden decision, but something that has been pending for several years.
As the band now rapidly continues to grow for each year, the time and commitment
needed for being in studio and on tours increase. Not really wanting this,
Johan chose to include the whole band in his doubts regarding this directly
from the start, and now when the time has finally come.[see full story

Third
Eye Kinks = Year Long Disaster |
punkbands reports: Throw the drummer for Third
Eye Blind, and offspring of Dave Davies (of The Kinks), and an ex-member
of Speedealer into a blender and you get Year Long Disaster. The band just
signed with Volcom who had this to say...
Rock-trio Year Long Disaster is led by
guitarist and vocalist Daniel Davies who grew up with an insiders perspective
being the son of Kinks guitarist Dave Davies. Bassist, Rich Mullins, has
toured the world in his past rock lives with Karma to Burn and Speedealer,
and Brad Hargreaves is certainly no stranger to bright lights and big cities
as his moonlighting gig is as the drummer of eight-times platinum Third
Eye Blind. Together, they are indeed, Year Long Disaster.
Beginning next week Year Long Disaster
will be holing up in Tucson, Arizona with producer/engineer Jim Waters
(Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, RL Burnside) to record their debut release,
which is slated for a September, 2007 release.[see full story for tour
