Static-X: No Submission
PR reports: We had so much fun last week with our Static-X week we decided to continue this week. We kick off today with Wayne telling us a little bit about the song, one of his favorites from the new CD "Cannibal". Here's Wayne: " NO SUBMISSION, Tony and I wrote this song together. One drunken night we were talking about making some music that had Death Metal guitar riffage placed over Drum & Bass type beats. This song came together very quickly. Koichi's shredding guitar solo was the finishing touch that makes it a stand out song for me."

Who's in Smashing Pumpkins?
Blabbermouth reports: According to a posting on Buddyhead.com, the latest additions to the "reunited' SMASHING PUMPKINS are bassist Ginger Reyes (ex-HALO FRIENDLIES) and guitarist Jeff Schroeder (ex-THE LASSIE FOUNDATION). So far there has been no official confirmation of the new members' identities, although original guitarist James Iha did reveal to RollingStone.com this past week that he is not part of the current SMASHING PUMPKINS album or tour. "I haven't spoken to Billy [Corgan, PUMPKINS mainman] in years," he said.

The only confirmed original member besides Corgan is drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Punk Hemp Bust
punkbands reports: The net has been abuzz these past few days with rumors that Don Bolles, drummer of legendary LA punk bands the Germs, was arrested on drug charges for possessing hemp-derived soap. While we're still waiting on more official confirmation, here's the bulletin making the MySpace rounds, purportedly from Bolles' recent musical collaborator Nora Keyes.

This past Wednesday night Don Bolles suffered a bizarre and unfortunate interception with the Newport Police Department. He was stopped for a broken tail light. We believe his unconventional looks and old army green van made him the victim of police profiling in this very affluent, quiet town. They searched his van. The only thing they found was a bottle of Dr Bronner’s soap. If you are a good friend of Don’s, you know this is the only cleaning agent he uses for every thing from tooth paste to laundry detergent. The police ran a drug field test on the soap and it came up positive. Dr. Bronner’s is made with hemp seed oil. Maybe this is the reason behind the arresting officer’s error. [this seems a bit far fetched to take it with a pound of salt but it just may be true. Stranger things have happened. See full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Fall Out Boy Delay Tour Due to Personal Issues
PR reports: Fall Out Boy announces that due to personal issues beyond the band’s control, the first few weeks of The Honda Civic Tour have been delayed. These shows will be rescheduled to the end of the tour.

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz says, "Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, we are planning on this being the biggest and best Fall Out Boy show that we could possibly have. Unfortunately, because of some personal issues we had to delay the tour a few weeks. We want to put on the best possible show we can and know that this extra couple of weeks will give us the time to put ourselves in the right place to put on the best show we can. The shows from the earlier part of the tour will be rescheduled to the end but all tickets will be honored for all moved shows. Again we apologize. Our fans really mean the world to us and I promise the wait will be well worth it."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Labrie has issued the following statement regarding his decision to leave the group: "Before I joined the band, I had the chance to grab a university degree. I put a hard time and money into this. Lately, I have been offered to work in the field I have been studying for the last years. This offer has so many advantages that I just could not refuse it. Cute Is What We Aim For Lose Member
punkbands reports: Cute Is What We Aim For's bassist Jack Marin has left the group. Marin addresses his departure on his Live Journal, which reads in part: "At first when I joined the band everything was great and everyone seemed happy. But shortly after, I started having some personal issues with another member. I've tried to just ignore the problems, but the truth is, I'm just not happy at all.

This is a decision that I've been debating for weeks. Even as I was getting ready to tell the guys, I was still wondering if I was making the right decision. But I've finally decided that it's in my best interest to leave this band as soon as possible. It's a matter of principle and to me, being in the band just isn't worth what I have to deal with.
