Burning
Brides in June |
PR reports: "Hang Love," the third album by
BURNING BRIDES, has been moved to a June 19 release date (NOT April 24
as was previously announced).
"Hang Love" was produced by guitarist/vocalist
Dimitri Coats and follows the Brides' 2004 critically-acclaimed "Leave
No Ashes," about which Rolling Stone wrote, "Burning Brides have plenty
of angst and tumult in their attack, but they yowl with smarts and good
tunes." "Hang Love" will be released on the independent Modart imprint
with distribution through Caroline/EMI. Said Coats, "We may be one of the
few bands doing it right now, but this is the way the future is going to
be. We own the masters, we dictate how and when we do things, we take the
risks."

Clink's
Appetite Crushed |
PR reports: Specializing in a sound that manages
to merge goth with metal - while not sacrificing melody - the five-man
band Crushed should easily garner heaps of crossover interest with their
just-released debut, 'My Machine.' Hailing from the arid locale of Phoenix,
Arizona, the group quickly impressed one of rock's most renowned producers,
Mike Clink, who was the main man behind none other than Guns N' Roses'
'Appetite for Destruction,' among other rock classics. "Crushed is a blend
of hard rock with a melodic overtone, similar to a wolf in sheep's clothing,"
explains Clink. "The band gave 110% to make sure this was the best Crushed
album they could deliver."
UPCOMING CRUSHED SHOWS:
Apr 14, 2007 - 8:00P - JOE'S GROTTO - PHOENIX,
Arizona
May 17, 2007 - 12:00P - Hyperactive Conference
and Music Festival 2007 - ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico

Teen Hunger Force? |
PR reports: Ok the Aqua Teen Hunger Force
soundtrack comes out on April 10th and the film hits theaters on April
13th. So as a way to promote the film/soundtrack we were given celebrity
playlists from each of the ATHF characters. Here is Carl's:
Jailbreak - AC/DC
If you go to jail, why stay there? Get
some friends with guns and dynamite to get you out.
Mr. Roboto - Styx
There's more to this song than meets the
eye. He's like, in this jail for kick ass rockers, and he kills this robot
and hides inside the robot shell to get outta there. Bad ass.
Love in an Elevator - Aerosmith
In the stage show they had an actual elevator.
A little too on the nose if you ask me, but the song is still pretty rockin'.

Ghettoblaster, to release on Ultra Records on April 24th. An incendiary
call to arms, Ghettoblaster, from the unambiguous title to the thrilling

Rock and no one would blink an eyelid.

Indie
Rock Incest |
PR reports: Members of Bright Eyes, Azure
Ray, Tilly & the Wall, Now It’s Overhead, the Faint and Others Guest
on Coyote Bones’ Debut, Gentleman On The Rocks, Band Heads Out for Spring
Tour. When you have been a touring musician as long as David Matysiak has,
coming from a scene that boasts bands like the Black Lips and Deerhunter,
only to finally settle down in a city whose hometown heroes include Bright
Eyes, Tilly & the Wall, and Cursive, among others, indie rock incest
is bound to occur at some point. Matysiak has recently proven that he prefers
to keep his fingers in a number pies at once. In the past two years, the
former leader of Atlanta/Athens band Jet by Day (Kindercore, Future Farmer)
and current front-man of one of Omaha’s newest super-groups, has in one
way or another lent a hand to friends Tilly and the Wall, Tilly side-project
Flowers Forever, David Dondero, and Lightspeed Champion. In return, most
of them have contributed to Matysiak’s most recent endeavor, Coyote Bones.
The end result, which bears the title Gentleman On The Rocks, comes out
sounding like one of the most comprehensive, genre-crossing collaborations
between a handful of the most promising young musicians of our generation.
After hearing the Depeche Mode-eque synth of “Grand Eclipse”, the apocalyptic
feel of “Living Breathing Demons”, the nostalgic ballad “39 Forever”, and
the political rant “Your War”, one will realize that Gentleman On The Rocks
has a little something to satisfy just about anyone’s tastes.[see full

Umphrey's
McGee Spring Tour |
PR reports: Umphrey’s McGee releases a double
disc album – a spontaneous and intriguing follow-up to their highly touted
spring 2006 studio release Safety In Numbers. Titled The Bottom Half, disc
one features ten songs that did not make it onto Safety In Numbers, while
disc two offers outtakes, alternative versions of songs, a cappella recordings,
and other bits from the band’s 2005 studio sessions. As with Safety In
Numbers, famed album artist Storm Thorgerson has designed the artwork for
The Bottom Half. Umphrey’s McGee will tour this spring/summer in support
of their new release. The list of stops includes a few very special apperances
in their hometown of Chicago. The band will perform the National Anthem
at U.S. Cellular Field for the Chicago White Sox home opener on April 2nd.
This marks the third time Umphrey's McGee has sung the National Anthem
at U.S. Cellular Field. Later in April, look for the band to headline the
city’s inaugural Green Apple Festival. Umphrey’s performed this Earth Day
festival last year in New York City, and is honored to now bring the earth-friendly
event to their hometown. Umphrey’s will headline the festivities at the
Lincoln Park Zoo on April 22nd, in addition to a very special intimate
Vic Theatre performance on April 21st. A portion of the proceeds for the
show, and 100% of the sales from an exclusive show poster, will be donated
to a Chicago environmental organization to be determined.
