Ozzy 'Died Twice' After Accident
Ananove reports: Ozzy Osbourne has revealed
that he "died" twice after his quad-bike accident.
The former Black Sabbath frontman was saved
by his bodyguard Sam Ruston, who gave the singer mouth to mouth when he
stopped breathing.
"If it wasn't for Sam I probably wouldn't
be here. He had to bring me back to life twice," Ozzy told the Sunday Mirror.
The 55-year-old Brummie rocker who has
battled addictions to drink and drugs admitted the crash had finally made
him "grow up".
He was in a coma for eight days after the
accident at his Buckinghamshire mansion in December.
"I'll never go near one of those damn bikes
again. I've finally grown up," he said.
"The bloody thing nearly killed me. I am
lucky to be here today and not paralysed." Click

Jack Black: Jacko Shouldn't
Be Able To Buy Kids
Rockdirt.com reports: Blender magazine
caught up with Tenacious D stars Jack Black and Kyle Gass and asked who
they thought were crazier between Michael Jackson or Courtney Love. "Oh,
I'd say Michael Jackson," Gass said. "Courtney Love wants to be the bad
rocker, but Michael -- he seems, like, a step beyond." Black added, "Yeah.
He's not doing any heroin. He's just really fu**in' fu**ed up. He's certifiable.
You shouldn't be able to buy kids. Just because you're rich enough to buy
them doesn't mean you should be allowed to have them." Click

Love is determined to make 2004 her year - by cleaning up her act while
turning her new album into a smash hit, reports IMDB.com.

Sweetheart" to mark a turning point in her life when it is released February

that is how I want to be remembered. Carrying on with my music will mean

Illegal MP3 Trading Down.
Forbes reports: The music industry's controversial
lawsuits against online song swappers appear to have forced U.S. computer
users to severely curb their free music downloading habit, according to
new research released on Sunday.
The percentage of Americans who downloaded
music from the Internet fell to 14 percent over the four weeks ended Dec.
14, from 29 percent in a 30-day sample conducted in March, April and May,
according to a telephone survey of 1,358 Internet users conducted by the
Pew Internet & American Life Project.
Since September, the Recording Industry
Association of America (RIAA) has filed about 400 lawsuits against music
downloaders, claiming "egregious" copyright infringement and seeking up
to $150,000 per violation.
The number of downloaders fell to about
18 million people in the winter period, from 35 million in the spring,
the Pew study found.
The steepest drops in usage were found
among women, people with some college education and parents with children
living at home. Students and broadband users also showed large drops in
downloading. Click

Chimaira: Andy Who?
The PRP reports: Now former Chimaira drummer
Andy 'Andols' Herrick has issued his official statement regarding his decision
to leave the band, it is as follows:
"As many of you might know by now, I have
decided to leave my brothers in Chimaira to pursue other interests. This
was a very difficult and emotionally taxing decision, and it was something
I had been pondering for quite a while. Basically, I am really burned out
on the touring lifestyle. It takes a special kind of person to be on the
road 3/4 of the year, performing night after night. You have to live it
and love it 100% or it will break you down. Unfortunately, the schedule
got the best of me. I got to the point where I wasn't having fun performing
anymore, and that is extremely hard to deal with.
I plan on returning to college to finish
my degree that's been on hiatus for 5 years. As far as drumming goes, right
now all I know is that I have been very unhappy with my playing for a while,
and after some time off I want to really improve in every aspect and become
more well rounded as a musician. Perhaps even some session work could be
in order in the future. Music has been a major part of my life, ever since
I first started music lessons in 1986, and more so when I first picked
up a pair of drumsticks in 1988, so we will see what happens in the future.
I just want to take everything one day at a time.
Chimaira is in good hands now, with Richard
Evensand taking over. I had the pleasure of watching him play on two tours
with Soilwork, and he is incredible. Trust me, you will all be saying "Andy
who?" when you hear him!
I'd like to thank my Chimaira bros for
five years of great memories and accomplishments, my family and girlfriend
for their support, Roadrunner Records, Scott Koenig, Stick Shefrin, Ian
Friedman, our road crew, all the great drum companies I've worked with,
all the great friends I made on the road, and all the great fans.
I am fully confident in the continued success
of the band, and I will be there supporting them 100%, just like you all
should!
Best wishes to everyone,
Andy Herrick" Click

Rush Guitarist: Arrest Unfair
AP reports: The lead guitarist for the
rock band Rush said his arrest at a New Year's Eve party was unfair.
Alex Zivojinovich - known on stage as Alex
Lifeson - was arrested for what police described as drunken, violent behavior
at the Naples Ritz-Carlton hotel. He faces six charges, including four
felonies, the most serious of which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years.
"This gives new meaning to dinner at the
Ritz," Zivojinovich, 50, said as he left jail Friday on $14,500 bond, wearing
the same black suit he wore to the New Year's Eve bash.
Zivojinovich said he didn't believe his
arrest was fair. "They didn't like the way we were dancing, apparently,"
he said.
Also arrested were his son Justin Zivojinovich,
33, and his son's wife, Michelle Zivojinovich, 30.
According to authorities, the scuffle began
when Justin Zivojinovich refused to leave the stage where the house band
was performing. His father spat blood on a deputy's face and pushed a deputy
down a hotel stairwell during the struggle, police said.
Justin Zivojinovich disputed that account
and said deputies broke his father's nose. Click

Thrice Prep New CD
RIFTrock reports: Thrice are using their
holiday break to work on new material for a follow-up to 2003's The Artist
in the Ambulance. The band's drummer Riley Breckenridge told NME.com Thrice's
holiday plans.
"Were all writing on our own. Once we
get a break, which is right now were going to start working on new stuff
and were all really, really excited about writing. The way we do it is
everyone has a little pocket recorder and you just kind of sneak off into
some private area and start writing parts and everyone compiles the parts
theyve been writing and when we get together as a band well kind of hash
it out." Click

Willie Peace
AP reports: Willie Nelson has premiered
his new anti-war ballad at an Austin fund-raising concert for Democratic
presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.
"(Nelson) brought down the house," said
Kucinich's media coordinator Susan Mainzer of the Saturday performance.
"People were on their feet applauding."
Nelson has said he wrote "What Ever Happened
to Peace on Earth" on Christmas Day at the Lake Elsinore, Calif., home
of his in-laws.
"There was nothing but bad news, and here
it was Christmas Day," Nelson told the Austin American-Statesman last month.
"I said, 'There sure are a lot of babies dying and mothers crying,' and
Annie said, 'That sounds like a song.'"
The song asks questions such as, "How much
oil is a human life worth?"
It is the second protest song Nelson has
written. He often performed his Vietnam-era protest song, "Jimmy's Road,"
at peace rallies during the 1991 Gulf War. Click
