Chris Brown's probation from the Rhianna beating was revoked by a judge on Monday after the Los Angeles Country District Attorney filed a motion to have it revoked following Brown's involvement in an alleged hit-and-run accident, according to ASB. They report that Brown was not jailed but is due back in court next month for a probation violation hearing and if he is found to have violated his probation he could face up to four years in jail. Brown was recently charged with misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license while he was still on probation for the assault on the pop star Rhianna. Prior to the judge's ruling Chris Brown tweeted, "I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C'mon!!" You can read more about the alleged hit and run and Brown's denials here.

(Radio.com) Emily Kraus and her boyfriend might have thought they were two Billies tripping on something when, on their way to a concert, they saw the man they were en route to see, stopped on the side of the road.En route (behind schedule, even) to the Dave Matthews Band concert in Hershey, Pa., on Saturday (July 13), the fans spotted Matthews across the road with a bicycle, apparently stranded. "So, we saw him on the other side of the road and we pulled my car in here," Kraus told local CBS affiliate WHP-TV. "And he picks up his bike and throws it up here." Matthews was out for a pre-show bike ride when he got a flat tire. Without a cell phone, he was stuck a little ways outside the city, a drive of about seven minutes in all. After dealing with his saviors' bike rack, which according to Kraus was apparently a bit befuddling to Matthews, the trio headed toward the concert, which was held at Hersheypark Stadium, near the grounds of the headquarters of the Hershey Company. "I was riding my bicycle, and then I got a flat tire on my bicycle. I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, 'Sh*t," Matthews joked from the stage that night. "And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig." See a video clip and read more here.

Randy Travis has woken up and is in stable condition after he underwent emergency surgery last week following a stroke while he was in the hospital being treated for a heart condition, according to his doctors. The country star's fiancee joined his physicians at a press briefing in Dallas yesterday (July 15) to give fans an update on his condition and explain his treatment thus far. They have released the following full transcript of the video briefing: My name is Michael Mack. I'm a cardiac surgeon and the medical director of cardiovascular disease at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas. I am joined by Dr. Erwin who is an intensivist at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano and Mary Davis who is the fiancée of Randy Travis. We would like to update you as to Mr. Travis' condition since our last statements early last week. As events have occurred, it's like putting pieces of a puzzle together. It's been much clearer as to what events transpired and what Mr. Travis' medical condition is. On Sunday, July 7, he was admitted through the emergency room of Baylor McKinney hospital whereupon he was put on life support. He was then transferred here to The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano for a higher level of support. For the first 48 hours after transfer, he required mechanical devices to support his circulation and his heart. His heart did respond positively to that, and after a 48-hour period of time we were able to wean him from that support. During this period of time of resuscitation, he suffered a stroke. As a result of that stroke, pressure built up in his brain that required an emergency neurosurgical operation to relieve that pressure. That operation was successful and Mr. Travis has awakened since that operation. In terms of putting together the sequence of medical events, we were concerned initially that he had acute viral myocarditis as a cause of this. As we're able to put the pieces of the puzzle together, he did suffer an acute viral illness over the past three weeks, but that seems to have tipped over a more chronic condition. He has what's called idiopathic cardiomyopathy, which means he has scarring of his heart muscle that is causing his heart to be weak and not able to support his circulation without help of either medical devices of medication. We performed a biopsy of his heart muscle and it shows scar tissue. It does not show active infection. From the appearance on echocardiograms, which are images of his heart, this is not the appearance of either drugs or alcohol causing the heart condition. Mr. Travis does have a family history of cardiomyopathy and it is more likely related to that. At the current time, Mr. Travis' condition is stabilized and I would like to turn to Dr. Erwin for a further update.

(Radio.com) Justin Timberlake put out an official statement defending the title of his latest song, "Take Back The Night." The single, which dropped last week and is featured on The 20/20 Experience-2 of 2, shares a title with the Take Back the Night Foundation."Upon the release of my new single 'Take Back The Night', I was made aware of an organization of the same name called The Take Back The Night Foundation," Timberlake wrote in an official statement obtained by Radio.com today (June 15). "I wanted to take this opportunity to let all know that neither my song nor its lyrics have any association with the organization." For over 35 years in the United States, Take Back The Night has been focused on eliminating sexual violence in all forms. In the last decade, thousands of colleges and universities have created their own chapters as a way of keeping students protected against sexual violence. "As I've learned more about The Take Back The Night Foundation, I'm moved by its efforts to stop violence against women, create safe communities and encourage respectful relationships for women–Something we all should rally around," he said. "It is my hope that this coincidence will bring more awareness to this cause." Katie Koestner, Board Director of Take Back The Night, hopes that this debacle will also bring more light to her cause. In an interview with Radio.com today (July 15) following the release of Timberlake's statement, she explained that because the organization trademarked their name back in 1973, entities looking to use the name must check in with them first. more on this story

(Radio.com) The summer of 2013 may be defined by the naked girls in music videos and the unstoppable cultural commentary that they caused. First there was Robin Thicke with "Blurred Lines" and then Justin Timberlake with "Tunnel Vision." Now Calvin Harris has entered the pantheon with his latest video, "Thinking About You."The distinction between Thicke & Timberlakes videos and the new one for Harris is simple: narrative. Instead of using the women front and center (save the g-string shot in the opening few seconds of the clip), director Vincent Haycock punctuates the storyline of excesses gone amok in Harris's video with the odd topless girl. So, still exploitative but less blatantly so. To advance the story lines, Haycock also throws in pirates, a fist fight, a private jet and a drug-fueled party set in a European castle. Haycock has helmed several of Harris other music videos, including "Sweet Nothing," featuring Florence Welch. more on this story

(Radio.com) Former American Idol season eight runner-up Adam Lambert has parted ways with his label RCA Records over a dispute about a covers album and is taking his fans with him.Lambert was asked by RCA to record an album of covers. Lambert's legion of fans, often referred to as Glamberts, heard the news and expressed their distaste on social media. On Saturday (July 13) Lambert sent a statement to The Hollywood Reporter and explained his creative differences with the label. "I've had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA; I admire all of them a great deal, and truly appreciate the energy & enthusiasm that went into making both Trespassing & For Your Entertainment successes," he wrote. "That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited 'creative differences' as to what my next project will be." Lambert further explained how his label was pushing for an '80s cover album and that was the only kind of release they would support. "While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album," Lambert continued, citing that he must continue his evolution as a songwriter and vocalist. (Radio.com) Just moments after Pitchfork tweeted out a link to the video for "Belong to the World," the latest single from Canadian alt-R&B act the Weeknd (AKA Abel Tesfaye), Portishead's Geoff Barrow lashed out at the site and the artist, calling the track "a load of bollox.""When someone asks to sample you and you refuse they should have the respect as a fellow artist to not use it," Barrow tweeted about "Belong to the World," which liberally samples the Portishead song "Machine Gun," from the band's 2008 studio album, Third. "We usually give sample clearance to tunes we like," he continued. "It's got f*** all to do with money! As most of them are hip-hop artist(s) that are skint." "Feels like I'm being used to promote the track now…I'll shut up now," Barrow added via Twitter, before retweeting a pair of insults from a fan of the Weeknd and finally tweeting out, "enough of this total bulls***. Something real," adding a link to Doctors Without Borders and Access to the Danger Zone, a documentary narrated by Daniel Day-Lewis that "provides a harrowing look at the challenges of delivering humanitarian aid in armed conflicts." more on this story

(Radio.com) Since the tragic news of Glee star Cory Monteith's death on Saturday (July 13) in Vancouver, Glee stars present and past have come out to honor him. Before starting his concert in New York on Sunday night (July 14), Glee star Matthew Morrison addressed the death of his Glee co-star Cory Monteith. According to The New York Times, Morrison began his show by sharing his grief over Monteith's passing, calling him his "brother." After finishing the song, Morrison admitted that it was "awkward" to be playing a show considering the circumstances, but noted, "You guys came to see a show, I came to perform a show, so that's what we'll do. And we'll do it in Cory's honor." (Radio.com) After a case severe food poisoning, Morrissey has been forced to cancel two shows in Peru, as well as postpone a string of concert dates in Chile that were scheduled to kick off a South American tour. The singer has once again taken to leading Moz fan site True to You to pen a poetic apology to fans affected by the tour shake-up in a post titled "See the luck I've had," a reference to lyrics from the Smiths' "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want." It goes almost without saying, the statement is as dramatic as the man himself. "I can't give words to the sorrow I feel at the loss of perfect Peru. Oh, black cloud," Morrissey's statement begins. "After such a victorious and uplifting welcome of Lima love, the contaminated jinx had its way via a simple restaurant meal of penne pasta and tomato. Three hours later, both I, and security Liam have collapsed with a deadly and delirious bedridden disease." "Morrissey and an entourage of about eight people ate at a restaurant that we had not recommended, with regrettable consequences," said Rodrigo Perez, Morrissey's Chilean concert promoter to Radio Cooperativa (via Daily Mail). "Within hours, all of them fell sick with severe gastric problems." This South American incident is only the latest in a series of health issues that have plagued Morrissey over the last year, with the singer canceling most of his most recent North American tour after battling double pneumonia, Barrett's Esophagus and a bleeding ulcer along the way. (Radio.com) The first time Kelly Rowland heard herself on the radio, it was 1998 and she was in Houston driving with her Destiny's Child ladies, which at the time consisted of Beyonce, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson.Rowland and her girls were on their way to pick up Bey's little sister, Solange, from school when their song "No, No, No Part 2" came on the radio. Cue the screams. "We were like, 'Oh my God, Oh my God!'" she said. "We started running around the courtyard at Solange's school and she hops out of the school and is like, 'Why are y'all embarrassing me?'" Once they explained what was happening, Solange started running around the courtyard, too. "It was beautiful moment," Rowland said. "We were just really happy." Though it's been 15 years since she first heard her song on the radio, Rowland said it's still exciting. more on this story

(Radio.com) Fans will no longer be able to listen to Atoms For Peace's album, Amok, on Spotify. Thom Yorke and his Atoms for Peace collaborator, producer Nigel Godrich, decided to pull their music from the streaming music service as a way to bring light to what they feel is Spotify's flawed business model. The two took to Twitter to discuss what they called a "small meaningless rebellion," writing that they removed their catalogues, which also will include Yorke's 2006 solo album, The Eraser and Godrich's own band, Ultraísta (though Radiohead albums are still currently available to stream), as a way to support new artists. Godrich let his followers know that Spotify is not good for new artists, sharing his opinion in multiple tweets through the night. "New artists get paid f*** all with this model.. It's an equation that just doesn't work," he wrote. Later adding, "The music industry is being taken over by the back door.. and if we don't try and make it fair for new music producers and artists… then the art will suffer. Make no mistake. These are all the same old industry bods trying to get a stranglehold on the delivery system." Yorke later joined in, letting fans know that when they listen to new music, those artists are seeing very little revenue in comparison to those who have business connections to the site. more on this story

(Radio.com) Amidst a press push for literally her entire empire, Jennifer Lopez has once again decided to don her "Jenny From The Block" cap to go back to the Bronx. Lopez took noted celebrity profilist Lynn Hirschberg there for a W Magazine August cover story. The feature reveals no new information on Lopez, instead retreading her roots as a Bronx native and In Living Color Fly Girl. But this story has been told and retold literally since 2002, when "Jenny From The Block" was released, long outlasting the Bennifer story that originally encircled the video (which co-starred Lopez and her then-fiancé, Ben Affleck). Why does Lopez keep coming back to this narrative for herself, long past its sell-by date? In truth, this idea of a girl from the hood isn't a narrative about Lopez that could continue without her blessing. The tabloid media, with their love of printing women's ages and hometowns as a way to distract readers from realizing they've written 50 words based entirely on rumors or untruth, need that information in all their J.Lo write-ups to fill space. And the more serious media, even in their fluff pieces on the star, like to use the backdrop of the Bronx to add in folksiness. When Lopez talks about herself in that context, both in her music and to the press, it passes on a sense of self-identification. She's saying: "I'm just a girl from the Bronx. I overcame my situation. I am the American dream. I am still humble. I have a special appreciation for my success, because I came from nothing." But in truth, the marriage of duel identities — Jenny from the block and a pop diva — has been messy and at times appeared disingenuous. This is, after all, a woman who has no less than 20 fragrances emblazoned with her name and even more dance floor-ready hits. The "Jenny From The Block" video itself was a mish-mash of messages. The lyrics insisted that she'd never forget where she came from and always be that girl from the low-income block in the Bronx, but it was married to images of Lopez looking like a Fellini film star in just a pair of designer underwear and a belly-bearing sweater. Or hanging out topless on a yacht. All with her very famous love interest. But still, just that normal girl is inside, under all the glamour. She vowed to "put God first and don't forget to stay real." But, you know, keep wearing rocks. There was something genuine about the number of fashion faux pas she committed in the video, the heavy make-up she still wore and the cavalier toplessness and belly showing. It felt like watching someone who was genuinely coping with her own rise, who wanted to keep an eye on the person she was before the fame. She was still a woman who hadn't been inducted into the halls of high fashion and didn't always wear the right things. And at the time, the video achieved something; it served as a commentary on success in general and the intense paparazzi surveillance Bennifer were under. More.
