(Radio.com) Florida Georgia Line has been a regular on radio and country singles charts for months now, thanks to hit songs "Cruise" (both the original and the remixed version featuring Nelly), "Get Your Shine On" and their latest single, "Round Here."Those cuts are all from their debut album Here's To The Good Times. That collection was only released this past December, but already the two bandmates (Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley) are plotting their next one. As Kelley recently told Rolling Stone, they have already written "about 13 or 14 songs that we can't not cut." The new songs are "diverse, like our first album," Kelley continued. "Kind of a little something for everybody. We like to mix it up when we write, get creative. If you write the same sound, the same vibe a couple of days in a row, you're sick of it. I think we have a really diverse sound, especially on the second record." But there's still a long way to to before fans might hear any of the new material. "Now the hard part is juggling," Kelley continued, "figuring out which ones we're gonna be keeping, which ones we're gonna let go." In the meantime, Hubbard and Kelley are getting ready for their first-ever headlining tour, which is set to kick off this October. And, of course, they're still riding high on the charts with songs from their current album. Watch a clip from Radio.com's interview with Florida Georgia Line, in which they discuss their crossover success thanks to Nelly here.

(Radio.com) Better late than never. That's the attitude an Illinois high school is taking after Rihanna sent them an apology in the form of $5,000.The singer appeared at Barrington High School in the Chicago suburb of the same name on March 22 as part of the grand prize for the "Shine Bright Like A Diamond" contest, which the school won for a video highlighting the students' commitment to charitable organization and activities. According to The Daily Herald in Chicago, students lined up for four hours on the first day of spring break to see Rihanna perform, but the singer failed to show up on time, leading to a shortened performance that some say was only 10 minutes long. It's been three months since the show, but Rihanna is only now sending a mea culpa to the school, which reportedly spent $2,000 on extra security, along with signage and printing used to promote the show. "We're certainly gratified to receive a contribution from her," school spokesman Jeff Arnett told the paper. "Even though this $5,000 gift has been long in coming, her management communicated with us immediately after the event and said she wanted to do something for the students. It didn't take any coaxing or pleading by the district. It was something they offered to do, and it took a while to work through the book keeping process." Rihanna gave the money to the school as a way to offset their expenses for the show, but because the bills from the event were paid for in the last fiscal year Arnett said all of the $5,000 will go to benefit students. more on this story

Matt Hires has announced an August 13th released date for his sophomore album, which will be entitled "This World Won't Last Forever, But Tonight We Can Pretend." The new album was produced by Eric Rosse (Tori Amos, Sara Bareilles) and features collaborations with songwriters Alex Dezen (singer/guitarist for The Damnwells) and Busbee (Kid Cudi, Katy Perry, Liz Phair and Lady Antebellum). "My favorite artists are the ones who keep making records that give you something different from what came before," says Hires, "but still hold onto their own unique sound overall. With this album, I pushed into the direction of making music that's more fun and pop-oriented but also retains that sense of honesty that I've always valued as a songwriter." Hires will be supporting the new album release by hitting the road with Parachute for a North American tour that will kick off on August 13th at New York City's famed Irving Plaza. more on this story

(Radio.com) Former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder has not only put his prized Mercedes 300SL up for sale, but the musician has gone into great detail about the car's history in the hopes of finding a suitable bidder. The sale of the vehicle comes two years after Wilder auctioned off a huge collection of Depeche Mode memorabilia, notes music site Slicing Up Eyeballs. "I find that I don't use the car enough these days due to having a family and the space requirements that imposes," explained Wilder on his official blog, typically dedicated to his band Recoil. "I bought the Merc back in 1991 when it was first released and had to remain on a waiting list for 6 months such was the excitement and demand for the (then) cutting edge model. I have looked after her meticulously over the years and just cannot stand to see her sitting in my garage not being used." According to Wilder, the car is in relatively good condition with a scant 72,824 miles on the odometer, although long since out of warranty. more on this story

Big B released his brand new studio album "Fool's Gold" this week and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about some of his favorite songs from the album. Today he tells us about "Ride Like a Rebel" (feat. Slightly Stoopid): With Slightly Stoopid I just got really lucky, because they had talked about working with me for a long time. I went over to their studio and they had a track that they thought would be perfect for me. They produced that whole song, and then Jim and I took it back home and chopped it up. It was going to be on the Slightly Stoopid record, but they said it worked better as a Big B track. At first I thought it might have been a b-side that they had recorded for their album, but it turned out that they really had intended to use it, but they thought it would be given a better home over at my house. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
