Randy Travis Suffers Stroke and Undergoes Surgery
Country star Randy Travis suffered a stroke yesterday and had to undergo surgery to relieve pressure on his brain, his publicist Kirt Webster said Wednesday evening.

Webster stated that the stroke was a complication of Travis's congestive heart failure. Earlier in the day, prior to the stroke, the physicians that have been treated him made public statements. The transcripts are below:

The first physician to speak was Dr. William Gray, the Director of cardiovascular services at Baylor Medical Center at McKinney, Texas.

"Mr. Randy Travis was admitted through an emergency department to Baylor Medical Center at McKinney on Sunday, July 7. He had been in previously excellent health until three weeks prior when he developed a viral upper respiratory illness.

"He was admitted at Baylor McKinney with a presumptive cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. At McKinney, he was stabilized and subsequently sent to THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano for a higher level of specialized care in the care of Dr. Michael Mack."

Then Dr. Michael Mack, the director of cardiovascular disease at the Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, said, "Early in the morning of Monday, July 8th, I received a phone call from Dr. Gray apprising me that Mr. Travis had been hospitalized in Mckinney, Texas and what his condition was at that time.

"We determined together in a joint decision, that a higher level of specialized care was appropriate and therefore we transferred him to THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano. Since his transfer, his condition has stabilized and he has shown signs of improvement."

Fan Arrested That Claimed Taylor Swift Is With Satan
(Radio.com) During a Taylor Swift show at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field this past Saturday (July 6), many fans brought handmade posters and signs to show their adoration for the singer. One fan, though, took a bit of a left turn in his messaging.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, 28-year-old Joseph Jackson brought two posters to the concert. One read "I luv you" but the other was emblazoned with the message "Taylor Swift is with Satan."

Turns out that Jackson had also written some questionable Facebook posts that were perceived as threats to Swift. Those combined actions led to his arrest during Saturday's concert.

When police asked Jackson about the Facebook posts, CBS reports that he became agitated. He also apparently told arresting officers, "Taylor Swift is Satan and that 6,000 years is six days and death comes on the sixth day, so Taylor Swift is in danger."

Jackson luckily had no weapons with him. But the threats were enough, so police confiscated Jackson's posters, handcuffed him, and hauled him off to jail, where he will face a mental evaluation. more on this story

J. Cole's New Album Has Sold More Copies Than Kanye West's Yeezus
(Radio.com) Kanye West may have won the battle, but right now, J. Cole is winning the war. After Kanye's Yeezus debuted atop the Billboard 200 album chart with first-week sales of 327,000, Cole's Born Sinner beat out Yeezus last week.

Respectively, they sat at No. 2 and 3 behind Wale's The Gifted, according to data from Nielsen SoundScan. Now, Born Sinner is at No. 1 in the country, selling 58,000 in its third week out. That brings the album's cumulative three-week total to 439,000 — just barely topping the 431,000 moved by Yeezus.

This is Cole's second chart-topping album, following his 2009 debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, which sold 218,000 in its first week to take the top spot.

Born Sinner's spot at No. 1 continues rap's chokehold on the top of the Billboard 200, with the genre taking its third week at the top and holding down the top three spots in the chart. Wale's The Gifted drops to No. 2 with 50,000 sold in its second week, while Yeezus moves 39,000 for No. 3.

The ability of Born Sinner to hit No. 1 in its third week out mostly reflects a weak crop of new releases, with only one debut inside the top 10. The sales figure of 58,000 is the sixth-smallest for a No. 1 in the SoundScan era, according to Billboard. The lowest is 40,000 sold, accomplished by Amos Lee's Feb. 2011 release of Mission Bell. more on this story

Justin Timberlake Teases New Single 'Take Back the Night'
(Radio.com) Justin Timberlake is flirting with fans in a new teaser video for his upcoming single, "Take Back the Night," which comes off part two of The 20/20 Experience.

In the clip, JT is seen shown holding up signs printed with the various release dates of recent efforts, specifically "Suit & Tie," "Mirrors" and The 20/20 Experience. But the last sign, which presumably reveals the "Take Back The Night" release date, is blurred out. The 20/20 Experience is expected September 30, so sometime between now and then is a safe bet.

Viewers get a 10-second clip of the song — which takes on a disco vibe a la Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" with a little MJ thrown in there — as JT strolls into a nearby nightclub. Soon we hear his raunchy lyrics over the house system: "Come on, use me up until there's nothing left/Dizzy, spinning, sweating, you can't catch your breath."

Timberlake's latest track shares its name with the Take Back the Night Foundation, a group that looks to create safe communities and respectful relationships through awareness events and initiatives. An odd coincidence considering the controversy surrounding his recently released music video for "Tunnel Vision," which has received criticism for its overtly sexual nature and objectification of women. Check out the clip here.

Scotty McCreery Vs Former Manager
(Radio.com) "See You Tonight" singer Scotty McCreery might be seeing the courtroom soon, because his former manager is suing him and McCreery has publicly addressed the legal battle.

On July 3, music industry veteran Todd Cassetty filed a lawsuit in Davidson County Chancery Court in Tennessee. According to the Nashville Post, the lawsuit claims that McCreery never compensated Cassetty after he took over managing the American Idol winner's career.

Court documents list Scotty McCreery, his mother Judith McCreery, and Scotty's production company Blue Crew Productions, Inc. as defendants.

McCreery signed with Cassetty Entertainment in October 2012 after fulfilling his contractual obligations to American Idol. Cassetty claims, however, that McCreery never provided compensation. "Celebrities should be required to pay their bills, just like anyone else," his lawsuit reads.

Scotty McCreery addressed Cassetty's accusations in a press statement: "There is no truth to these allegations. I have offered to pay Todd more than once, but he wanted an unreasonable amount for only five months of work. Anyone who knows me knows how I conduct myself, so I am not worried they will believe any of this. This is just an attempt to embarrass me and my family. The facts will come out when we have our day in court." more on this story

Video Of Justin Bieber Urinating In Restaurant Kitchen Leaks Online
(Radio.com) While Justin Bieber's been in the headlines in recent months for leaving his monkey behind in Germany, allegations of speeding and posting suggestive illustrations on the web, the latest Bieber news tops them all.

Yesterday (July 10), a video showing Bieber urinating into a mop bucket in a restaurant kitchen leaked online (no pun intended). In the video, Bieber is seen and heard laughing throughout the entire ordeal.

"We swagger man, you know. This is just a little walk to piss," he says while peeing into the mop bucket.

Meanwhile, his friends egg him on. "That's the coolest spot to piss," his friend says. "You know, you'll forever remember that. You're not gonna remember him pissin' in the restroom. Like everybody does that."

Afterwards, they laugh and exclaim that they're the "f***ing Wild Kidz yo!" (It's worth noting, Wild Kidz is the name of rapper Lil Twist's forthcoming clothing line, which Bieber has been linked to as a collaborator.) more on this story

Man Gets 18 Years In Jail For Plotting To Kill Joss Stone
(Radio.com) A 32-year-old man from Manchester, England was sentenced to 18 years in jail after being found guilty of plotting to murder and rob the singer Joss Stone back in 2011.

Though the man, Junior Bradshaw, had been found guilty three months ago, his sentencing was delayed for a psychiatric evaluation. According to the BBC, doctors found that Bradshaw did not require hospital treatment for the schizophrenia and mental impairment that he talked about in the original trial.

The judge also told the defendant in the latest hearing that although he has an IQ of just 65 (someone who has an IQ below 70 is usually defined as mentally handicapped), he understood what he was involved in.

Two years ago, Bradshaw, along with another man named Kevin Liverpool, were found driving in Devon, England where Stone lived with a body bag and a variety of weapons including a Samurai sword, two hammers and an undisclosed number of knives.

The two men were also found with notes detailing a plan to behead the singer and dump her body in the river because of her links to the Royal Family. Stone was a guest at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding. more on this story

George Strait's New Song Inspired By Newtown School Massacre
Country superstar George Strait has released his latest single "I Believe" which was inspired by the tragic school massacre in Newtown, Conn. last December. We were sent over these details:

Strait co-wrote the song with his son, Bubba Strait, and songwriter Dean Dillon after watching the news coverage of the tragady. Having lost his daughter at a young age, George felt as if it was a song he needed to write.

Yet, when he was working on the album, he didn't initially record the song. After listening to the playback of the album, Strait's wife Norma insisted that he record the song so at the end of the session he asked the band to record one more.

"Like everybody, I was watching the coverage on TV," said Strait in an interview. "I know what these parents are going through. It's the worst thing that can happen to you in your life. To lose a child….there's nothing worse than that. So I started thinking about saying something about it."

He concludes, "It's a statement of faith, is really what it is. It turned out beautiful."

"I Believe" comes from Strait's latest album 'Love Is Everything' and is the follow-up single to his record breaking 60th No. 1 song "Give It All We Got Tonight".

Dierks Bentley Talks About Upcoming Firefighter Benefit
(Radio.com) On June 30, tragedy struck when 19 veteran firefighters known as the Granite Mountain Hotshots were killed while battling the Yarnell Hill wildfire near Prescott, Ariz. The horrible accident left the firefighters' families in shock, and in need. To help them recover, Dierks Bentley has stepped up to headline the Country Cares Concert.

The concert will take place July 22 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Ariz., and it was organized Phoenix's KMLE Country 107.9 (a Radio.com station) and northern Arizona's 92.9 KAFF. Proceeds will go to the United Phoenix Firefighters, which will distribute the funds directly to the 19 families.

"When every dollar comes in, every dollar will go out to those families," Rich Bauer, captain of the Phoenix Fire Department, told KMLE in an interview this morning (July 9).

And to put this tragic event in perspective, Bauer noted that "this was the biggest tragedy, for firefighters, anywhere in the world since 9/11. And before that it was in the 1940s in Colorado. So that's how big and devastating this is."

Bentley, who hails from Arizona, also spoke today with KMLE. "This is a really important thing that I feel strongly about," he said. "And I'm honored to get a chance to be a part of this concert. We're going to honor the memory of these guys and start spreading some good will among the community. And try to raise as much money as possible to help out these families and get them on the road toward a better place."

"All I know how to do is play music," Bentley added, saying his intent is therefore to just "let music do its thing. It's all you can do in a situation like this — do what you do the best that you can." more on this story

A day after H.O.V. revealed during an impromptu Twitter chat that his song "Open Letter" would appear on a vinyl edition of Magna Carta… Holy Grail, put out by Jack White's Third Man Records, the label confirmed that they are in fact releasing the record.

Third Man's site let Jay's fans know that they have a few things up their sleeve for the release of the vinyl special edition, which yes, will also include a vinyl copy of his self-released single "Open Letter".

Slayer, Snoop Dogg, MGMT To Have Fun Fun Fun
(Radio.com) This year's edition of Austin's annual Fun Fun Fun Fest will pit pioneers like Slayer, Snoop Dogg and the Descendents alongside more recent musical trailblazers including Death Grips and MGMT.

Sparks, Cut Copy, Jurassic 5, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and FLAG (the Black Flag reunion fronted by Keith Morris and Dez Cadena) are also among the marquee acts at the fest scheduled for the weekend of November 8-10.

"Pound for pound, this is probably our most powerful lineup in our eight-year history," James Moody, co-owner of Fun Fun Fun Fest, said in a release. "We are staying true to our roots, while still pushing the limit on new ideas, discoveries and experiences for our fans."

The panoramic line-up also includes early punk icons Television, politically-charged rapper Lupe Fiasco and electro bands the Chromatics and Glass Candy, both part of the Italians Do It Better label in Portland. Ice-T will hit the stage solo as well as play a set with his incendiary '90s rock outfit, Body Count.

Electronic music will be well represented, with Simian Mobile Disco (DJ set), XXYYXX, Bonobo and Tycho all scheduled to perform. more on this story

Daft Punk Releasing Get Lucky Condoms
(Radio.com) Daft Punk not only want you to get lucky this summer, but want to make sure you stay safe doing it. The French electronic duo has teamed up with condom brand Durex to release a "Get Lucky" brand of prophylactics, according to NME.

The box features the "Get Lucky" single art of Daft Punk, Nile Rodgers and Pharrell standing in front of the sun, which is a shot from the song's video.

There's no word yet on when the condoms will go on sale to the general public, but in a slick advertising move, Durex has been sending DJs free samples.

And it seems they've got a fan in Diplo, who posted a photo of the opened box to Instagram with the message, "Thank god I had those Daft Punk condoms last night." He might have just come up with the perfect tagline.

Along with their new condoms, the guys are also hawking a line of action figures. more on this story

Timbaland Explains Beef With Jay-Z
(Radio.com) In this week's episode of Rewind, Radio.com goes inside the quiet beef between Jay-Z and Timbaland, which many didn't even know existed.

In a recent interview with Diddy's new music channel, Revolt TV, longtime Jay-Z producer Timbaland explained how he came to reconnect with Jigga to work on his new album, Magna Carta… Holy Grail.

"Me and Jay fell out," Timbaland explained. "I missed his 40th [birthday]. It was over petty stuff. It was more personal stuff and disagreements. It was not industry related, it was more personal and I was wrong."

Rahman Dukes of Revolt TV, who conducted the interview with Timbaland, weighed in on the beef, which he could sense before he sat down with the superstar producer.

"I was pretty much aware that something had existed," Dukes explained. "Something happened in between the time when The Blueprint 3 came out and when Timbaland dropped that 'We Off That' track producing Drake. He alluded that it might have something to do with his own personal behavior and a dark place he was in at the time." more on this story

Matthew Morrison Critiques Curly-Haired Singers, From JT to Kenny G
(Radio.com) Matthew Morrison didn't always have curly hair. The Glee star, who on the show is often teased for his overly gelled 'do, was born with stick straight hair, and super blond at that. But when puberty hit, it hit hard.

"Those are very awkward years to begin with," Morrison said. "So match that with getting new hair, you're kind of like, 'What's going on?'"

While visiting the Radio.com offices, Morrison shared how he went from hating his curly fro to learning to love his hair, cowlicks and all. In the video, Morrison gives a few styling tips for other guys with curly locks. And even shares his secret styling tip. Hint: Lubriderm isn't just for dry elbows anymore.

Morrison also critiqued the looks of other curly-haired singers like Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Kenny G and Michael Bolton. He's on board with JT's slick 20/20 Experience look, but isn't quite sure what to make of Kenny G.

For Morrison, style and music are one in the same. For his new album, Where It All Began, a collection of standards and Broadway hits, he adopted an old school retro look that matches the album's feel. more on this story

Singled Out: Deep Forest's Tiko
Today Eric Mouquet of Deep Forest tells us about the song "Tiko" from their brand new album "Deep Africa," which was released this week. Here is the story:

I was working in the studio with Blick Bassy, preparing the recording session and the sounds of the synth to get started. Blick was warming up his vocal chords in the a corner when suddenly and almost sublimely i heard his voice singing the melody, he was improvising without realising I was making note and creating the harmony I was hearing. This is how "Tiko" was born a sweet melody with a little melancholy feel. During the recording of the track, Alune Wade the bass player sung an incredible line towards the end which gives a real boost to the song, right away i had the inspiration to add some dubstep sounds.....an intriguing and attractive mix in this song which combine traditional vocals and dark electronic, in fact it's all I like an unlikely mixture.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
