Lauryn Hill Ordered To Pay $504,000 Or Face Jail
(Radio.com) Lauryn Hill was scheduled to appear in court yesterday (April 22) for failing to file taxes on $1.8 million in past income. According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, her sentencing was postponed to May 6.

This doesn't mean Hill is off the hook just yet, though. While U.S. Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo postponed the hearing, she gave Hill two weeks to pay $504,000 in back taxes. If Hill doesn't pay the back taxes before her next court hearing, she could face between 24-30 months in jail.

"At sentencing, we will be seeking lenience from the judge based on who Ms. Hill is, what she has done positively in the past, what she does in the present, and what we hope she will be doing in the future," Hill's attorney Nathan J. Hochman previously told Radio.com. "She is fully committed to paying back all her tax obligations going forward."

Last June, Hill was charged with failing to report about $818,000 she earned in 2005; $222,000 in 2006 and $761,000 in 2007, the Star-Ledger reports. more on this story

Jay-Z Great Gatsby Song Leaks
Earlier this month, the star-studded soundtrack for The Great Gatsby was revealed, with the inclusion of a new Jay-Z track titled "100$ Bill." Now Hova has teased "100$ Bill" with a 90-second preview, which leaked online over the weekend.

Jay-Z, an executive producer on the film and the man behind the soundtrack, wrote the song "100$ Bill" specifically for the film. Rapping about 9/11, prohibition, Einstein and Taylor Swift, he even intertwines F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel into the track. A heavy beat that showcases Jay-Z's power, it's just a hint at what's to come from the film's soundtrack.

will.i.am and the xx also specifically penned new music for the summer blockbuster, while contributions from Beyonce, Fergie, Florence + the Machine, Lana Del Rey, Emeli Sande, Gotye and Jack White also made the soundtrack. A snippet of Jay-Z and Kanye West's "No Church in the Wild" could be heard in the film's first trailer, but the song does not appear on the soundtrack. Listen to the Jay-Z track here.

The X Factor Drop Khloe Kardashian
There will be one less Kardashian on TV as the X Factor has announced that they have decided to drop Khloe as co-host of the singing competition show.

A spokesperson for The X Factor reportedly had this to say to E! about the decision, "Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host 'The X Factor'. We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

Khloe's co-host Mario Lopez will be returning the show next season and taking over all hosting duties, according to Aceshowbiz. He said, "I'm looking forward to returning to 'The X Factor' team. We're coming back stronger and better than ever and I'm excited to check out all the new talent."

The show's mastermind, Simon Cowell had this to say about Lopez's return, "I'm thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of 'The X Factor'. Hosting a live show and keeping the judges - especially Demi [Lovato] - in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he's coming back."

Britney Spears and L.A. Reid will not be returning to the show as judges next season but Disney star Demi Lovato will be returning.

Katy Perry Tells Fans What To Expect From New Album
(Radio.com) Katy Perry has been hard at work on her third album. The still-untitled release, which does not yet have a date attached to it, will serve as the follow-up to 2010′s Teenage Dream, which spawned five No. 1 singles in a chart feat rivaled only by Michael Jackson's Bad.

While we know ex-husband Russell Brand won't shy away from talking of their relationship in his future autobiography, we can't help but wonder what Perry will be singing about.

During a session last week at the I Create Music Expo, Perry filled attendees in on what to expect from her new music. Here are five things we learned, via recaps from Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter as well as Perry's Twitter.

1. Expect a team of familiar collaborators. Perry has been in the studio with many of the writers and producers from her 2010 release Teenage Dream, including Max Martin ("Teenage Dream," "The One That Got Away"), Dr. Luke and Greg Wells ("Pearl," "Not Like he Movies") as well as Bonnie McKee ("Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), "California Gurls"), Sia and Greg Kurstin.

With Greg Kurstin being the producer behind Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" and Sia having worked with everyone from David Guetta to Christina Aguilera, we're thinking there are some major power ballads and dance anthems in the future for Perry. Read more here!

MGMT Deliver Alien Days
(Radio.com) MGMT is beaming its new single "Alien Days" to fans' headphones, first via limited-edition Record Store Day "cassingle" and now streaming on SoundCloud. The track is the first taste of the electro-rockers' upcoming self-titled third album, tentatively due out this June.

The dreamy but punchy track is punctuated with spacey sound effects and sparkling wind chimes, while frontman Andrew VanWyngarden sings, "Today we find infinite ways it could be any worse/It's a blessing and it's also a curse/Those days have taught me everything I know/How to catch a feeling/And when to let it go."

Like their enormously popular Oracular Spectacular single, 2008's "Kids," "Alien Days" ups the creep factor with samples of children's voices, this time layered behind VanWyngarden's lead vocals.

The new song is a fresh take on the psych-influenced band's sound, but remains distinctly MGMT – think The Doors and Jefferson Airplane if they had access to computers. Listen Here

Glen Campbell Revisits His Hits With New Album
Country music legend Glen Campbell has set an August 6th release date for his new album, See You There, where he revisits some of his biggest hits with new recordings of the songs.

The album features new versions of Campbell's hits "Gentle On My Mind," "By The Time I Get To Phoenix," "Hey Little One," "Wichita Lineman," "Galveston," "True Grit" and "Rhinestone Cowboy."

The album also includes some recordings from the sessions for his 2011 album, Ghost on the Canvas, including the bonus tracks "What I Wouldn't Give" and "I Wish You Were Here," as well as the previously unreleased "Waiting on the Comin' of my Lord," and the song "There's No Me...Without You," which Campbell wrote with Julian Raymond.

The majority of the tracks were never intended for release. We were sent these details: The story behind See You There echoes that of his 1967 breakthrough album, Gentle On My Mind. Both were recordings that Campbell never intended to be released as an album, sessions that occurred simply because the songs yearned to be sung. While recording Ghost On The Canvas, Campbell found himself at a crossroads. While he forged vibrant new artistic relationships - acolytes Jakob Dylan, Paul Westerberg and Teddy Thompson penned songs for the album and it featured guest appearances by such admirers as Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan, Brian Setzer and members of the Dandy Warhols - Glen simultaneously felt a tug from some of his earliest hit singles. So he laid down new vocals for these songs - and then set the tracks aside.

Shortly after the Ghost sessions concluded, Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Undeterred, he embarked on a series of live dates that he dubbed "The Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour." more on this story

Chris Brown Pondering Making A Country Music Album
(Radio.com) In the midst of promoting his forthcoming release X, due out this summer, Chris Brown called into Charlotte radio station Power 98 to talk influences and what's next – including, potentially, a country album and Chris Brown: The Rapper.

While his new single "Fine China" recalls Michael Jackson, Brown has always openly acknowledges MJ's proverbial presence in his life.

"Michael is one of my greatest influences," he said. "The way I look at everything I approach is… I wouldn't say a Michael Jackson standpoint, but I would say, 'Would he like it? Would he approve of it?' I looked up to him as a kid for every dance, for everything."

Besides MJ, Brown explained that his musical tastes run the gamut. He's open to experimenting with a number of different musical styles, including ones Team Breezy may not expect.

"Music is for everyone," he said. "When you put genres on music, you segregate it. I want to always be able to do any kind of music I want. When I get older I might want to do a country album. Next year, I might want to do all hip-hop album or alternative album. Just making sure that anything that goes down, showing my audience or showing people that have a creative mind that you can do anything you want, it's just about believing and loving what you're doing in a positive way." more on this story

Kate Hudson Talks New Movie, Her Son and Marriage
(Extra) "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli caught up with Kate Hudson to talk about her new role in "The Reluctant Fundamentalist," and she opened up about her 1-year-old son with fiancι Matthew Bellamy.

Hudson gushed that Bingham is beautiful. "He is a gem. He is talking up a storm. I'll ask, 'What do you want for breakfast, honey?' He says, 'Bolognese.'" The mom added he also loves bikes and dribbles around a soccer ball.

The actress is also planning on tying the knot with Bellamy at some point. "Eventually, yes. I look forward to it... we'll both figure it out. We've been both very busy, but it will happen."

As for "The Reluctant Fundamentalist," Hudson plays an American who falls in love with a Princeton graduate from Pakistan, who has extremist ties.

Kate revealed how the release of her film feels very timely, especially in view of the Boston bombings. "As a mom and a daughter, you look at these families suffering, it's unimaginable." more on this story

Chief Keef Posts Firearm Photos Despite Past Gun Issues
(Radio.com) Since his entrance into the collective public mindset, teenage rapper Chief Keef has had repeated run-ins with the law, mostly stemming from his apparent love of firearms.

But multiple stints in juvenile detention centers haven't stopped the Chicago rapper from posting a series of photos to his Instagram account, one of which featured Keef pointing a gun straight at the camera. Another pic shows a large gun in an unknown person's lap, presumably Keef's. A third photo features a masked man pointing two guns at the camera, with the caption "#squad."

The rapper has been in Paris, where he posted other pictures to his Instagram, including a photo of him in front of the Eiffel Tower. more on this story

Hunter Hayes Profiled In Esquire
(Radio.com) In a profile that runs in the May, 2013 issue of Esquire, Hunter Hayes reveals a few things about himself, his musical preferences, and his background.

He also sits for a picture in a parking lot, playing guitar and wearing a few thousand bucks worth of clothes and shoes (this is a "music and style" feature, after all).

So what did we learn about Hunter from Esquire? 1) He loves mandolins and resonator (Dobro) guitars. "Every demo I do has a mandolin or resonator on it — some element of the bluegrass or classic country world that I grew up listening to and that first drew me in."

2) He is not nervous when playing live. "The stage is my comfort zone, and playing live is what I've always wanted to do. It's why I want to do two hundred dates a year. I wouldn't feel that way if I were nervous onstage. Read more.
