NKOTB Star Finished Boston Marathon Seconds Before Explosions
(Radio.com) Finishing his first Boston Marathon yesterday, Joey McIntyre of New Kids On The Block narrowly escaped the explosions that went off near the finish line, which resulted in at least 40 injuries and two deaths (as of 4:45 p.m. Monday).

CBS Boston reported that the blasts happened around 2:50 p.m. EST outside Marathon Sports on Boylston Street. At 2:58 pm, Boston resident McIntyre assured friends, family and fans via Twitter that he was okay, but was sure there were many that had been injured in the incident.

He tweeted, "There was an explosion by the finish line about 5 minutes after I finished- I'm ok but I'm sure there are many hurt."

After finding out McIntyre was okay, fellow NKOTB bandmate Donnie Wahlberg tweeted that he "would be off Twitter" and asked for people to pray for "all those impacted" by the blasts. more on this story

Bruno Mars' Family Gets Reality TV Series
(Radio.com) Fans of Bruno Mars will soon be able to get a glimpse into his family life when a new reality show premieres this fall.

The Lylas, which will air on WE tv, will center around his four musical sisters, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

The show stars Mars' sisters Tiara, Tahiti, Presley and Jamie as they record their debut album. In true Kardashian style, cameras follow the girls around as the three sisters move from Hawaii to Los Angeles to join their older sister Jamie and try their shot at making it in the music business.

The girls recently told Access Hollywood how they wanted to separate themselves from their GRAMMY-award winning brother.

"I think we want to do this as much as we can on our own. He's doing his thing and we're doing ours so as long as we have our family's love and support . . . there's a lot of other people we want to work with before we work with Bruno." Check out a video of them singing.

Madonna Vs President of Malawi
(Radio.com) Madonna is speaking out against allegations made by Malawi's President Joyce Banda over the validity of the her charity work.

On April 10, Banda wrote a press release that was published on the Malawian news website, the NYASA Times, questioning the real intentions of Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi.

"Among the many things that Madonna needs to learn as a matter of urgency is the decency of telling the truth," the statement reads. "For her to tell the whole world that she is building schools in Malawi when she has actually only contributed to the construction of classrooms is not compatible with manners of someone who thinks she deserves to be revered with state grandeur."

Banda also accused Madonna of demanding special treatment while visiting the country writing, "It is worth making [Madonna] aware that Malawi has hosted many international stars, including Chuck Norris, Bono, David James, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville who have never demanded state attention or decorum despite their equally dazzling stature."

"I'm saddened that Malawi's President Joyce [Banda] has chosen to release lies about what we've accomplished, my intentions, how I personally conducted myself while visiting Malawi and other untruths," Madonna said in a statement released on April 11. "I have no intentions of being distracted by these ridiculous allegations." The plot thickens.

Lady Antebellum Top The Charts With Downtown
Lady Antebellum's "Downtown" has given the group their seventh No. 1 single after the track topped both the Billboard and Mediabase charts this week.

The single has sold more than 500,000 digital downloads and comes from the band's forthcoming album, "Golden," which is set to be released on May 7th.

Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley had this to say about the news, "Most of what the world has seen from Hillary from a radio single standpoint is this very sweet kind of style like 'American Honey,'" said Kelley. "But, she's got a lot of sass and a lot of grit to her voice, too, so it's been really fun to bring that out of her and have this kind of support from our fans and radio."

"Downtown" has also become the group's highest charting debut at Country radio. The group have released a behind the scenes video from the making of the track that you can watch

Justin Bieber's New Video Could Be Called When Fans Attack
(Radio.com) Justin Bieber's video for his latest Believe single, "All Around the World," featuring Ludacris, could be renamed "When Fans Attack!"

Fans' shrieks punctuate the catchy euro-dance track throughout the video where viewers get a glimpse at the real-life hardships of being an internationally-recognized superstar.

Tour footage from all across the globe show screaming fans chasing the singer as he exits venues, banging on his car windows and yelling at him as he passes by.

The hostile adoration is all in the name of love, which Bieber delivers right back to his fans in the track. He backs up the song with fresh dance moves as he croons to tens of thousands of fans in live clips from stadium concerts.

He sings, "All around the world people want to be loved/All around the world they're no different than us."

Shots of the Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal in India, Big Ben in London, the Roman Colosseum and many more international landmarks back up Bieber's sentiment and give the video a global feel.

Ludacris joins the "Beauty and a Beat" singer in a clip from a New York concert, rapping his uplifting verse (which is quite a far cry from his "Money Maker" days.) more on this story

Psy Breaks YouTube Record With New Video
(Radio.com) From the moment Psy appears in his new video (unexplainably kicking over a traffic cone in the first five seconds), you know "Gentleman," the follow-up to the juggernaut that was "Gangnam Style," is going to be every bit as strange as its predecessor.

After the Korean rapper's new single leaked last Thursday (April 11), one day earlier than originally expected, Psy revealed the "Gentleman" video Saturday (April 13) to a sea of… well, reaction.

The video proceeded to break YouTube's single-day views record, racking up 22.5 million hits in its first 24 hours and over 60 million views by Monday morning.

As the introduction to Psy for many non-Koreans, the success of "Gangnam Style" was spurred on by its addictive music video, which created some interesting new dance moves on its way to becoming the most-viewed YouTube video in the site's history.

But the "Gangnam" video wasn't exactly the "these people are craaaazy" mentality many westerners copped upon first views; rather, Psy's outlandish antics, including mock-riding a horse and rapping while sitting on the toilet, were overall parodies and satire on people seeking to live the lifestyle of those in Gangnam, the supposed place-to-be district in Seoul, South Korea. (Randex) The Philadelphia Music Alliance will continue with plans to induct Vince Montana Jr. into the Philadelphia Walk of Fame that had begun just prior to his passing over the weekend.

The PMA had been making arrangements as late as last week to induct Montana, the spiritual father and the MFSB Sound of Philadelphia backing band, this fall. He now will be inducted posthumously, along with other honorees to be announced in ceremonies on Broad Street.

"In the midst of planning his October induction into the Walk of Fame, it is with deep sympathy that Philadelphia Music Alliance sends the Vincent Montana family its sincere regrets on the news of his passing," said PMA Chairman Joseph Tarsia.

"Musician, arranger, producer, and friend, Vince was an intricate part of what was known around the world as the 'Philadelphia Sound.' Vince Montana Jr. will be sorely missed by the Philadelphia music community and music lovers around the world." Philadelphia Music Alliance website.

SNL Spoof Brad Paisley And LL Cool J's 'Accidental Racist'
(Radio.com) After the real Brad Paisley and LL Cool J made the rounds of talk shows all last week, speaking about their new collaborative song "Accidental Racist," it figures that Saturday Night Live would get in on the action, too.

And sure enough, this past weekend, SNL included a skit about the song during the Weekend Update portion of the show.

Joining Weekend Update host Seth Meyers were "LL Cool J" (played by Kenan Thompson) and "Brad Paisley" (played by Jason Sudeikis).

"We did it," said "LL," wearing a black jacket, earrings, and black knit cap. "Racism's over ya'll!"

"Just took one song!" chimed in "Brad," sporting a white cowboy hat. Check it out here.

Country Thunder A Massive Hit
(Radio.com) The four-day Country Thunder Festival in Florence, Arizona near Phoenix was a rousing success this past weekend. Tickets were officially sold out, and attendance reached capacity of 25,000 patrons and filled 5100 campsites. It was the biggest crowd in the Arizona festival's 20-year history.

The festival lineup this year included Lady Antebellum, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Brantley Gilbert, Jana Kramer, Kip Moore, and Justin Moore. Phoenix station KMLE 107.9 has posted interviews and photo galleries featuring these and other artists from the weekend shows.

Among the highlights are performance photos featuring Toby, Eric, and Lady A; the 'Nearly-Wed Game' with Jana Kramer and Brantley Gilbert; and campground visits by Lee Brice and Kip Moore, who both chose to get out and meet fans face-to-face.

A second Country Thunder festival takes place July 18-21, 2013 in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Performers at that event include Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, Joe Nichols, Little Big Town, and Jake Owen. more on this story

Eric Church Explains Inspiration For Live Album
(Radio.com) During his stop in Florence, Arizona this weekend for the four-day Country Thunder festival, ACM Album of the Year winner Eric Church took time to speak on his tour bus with Phoenix station KMLE about his show and his brand-new live album, Caught In The Act.

"I'm a fan of old rock and roll, and there used to be a lot of live albums out there," he tells KMLE. "We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for our live show. There's been many times where it's carried us. Our live show we could always count on. So we thought it was the right moment to capture that, before we got too far away from it."

And, he says, "we went back to a small place to record this," at the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tenn." It wasn't an arena show" but "a 1000 seat theater."

What about the energy? "It was just rabid," Eric says. The crowd was "wild, and I like that rowdy feeling." more on this story

Ben Gibbard Talks Nostalgia As Postal Service Reunite At Coachella
(Radio.com) What's wrong with a little nostalgia if it makes you feel good? Over the weekend at Coachella, we saw a number of nostalgia-fueled reunions. A new generation of fans were introduced to '90s Britpop band Blur, who headlined Friday. The return of the Wu-Tang Clan on Sunday has been widely hailed as a victory march for the giant hip-hop collective. And, among the most anticipated, a reunion of the Postal Service finally happened on Saturday.

The group, founded by Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard and producer Jimmy Tamborello, along with Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, had the best-selling electronic album of 2003. That album, Give Up, eventually went platinum, selling over a million copies worldwide.

When Gibbard stopped in for an interview with Radio.com last fall, he spoke at length about the phenomenon of nostalgia, addressing his own and the feelings engendered by his bands.

"I only really live with this when we're playing these songs live," Gibbard said, referring to Death Cab for Cutie. "But I think it's really fascinating when we're playing a show and the kids are always, the younger kids are always up front because that's where kids go at shows, and we'll play something from the first couple of albums. You'll see a kid who isn't older than late teens, early 20s going bananas for a song that is now 12 years old."

"They have clearly discovered it outside of its contemporary time," Gibbard continued, "but their relationship to it is as if it was a new record because it's new to them. Those moments, when they happen, really mean a lot to me." more on this story

Fergie Having A Boy?
(Hollsycoop) Luckily for Fergie it's spring, a season fit for her pregnancy cravings. We caught up with the expecting star at Logo TV's NewNextNow Awards where she tells us what keeps her appetite satiated.

"Fruit," Fergie revealed to Hollyscoop. "I'm obsessed with fruit." Specifically that of the acidic variety, according to her husband Josh Duhamel, who previously shared with us that Fergie's main squeeze is "citrus, lots of citrus."

Like an unofficial round of The Newlywed Game, their double confirmation on this craving detail speaks to the father-to-be's observant eye.

Fergie tells us she can't wait to see Josh in this new fatherly light and is eager for each and every moment of it. "I'm looking forward to seeing him as a dad," she says. "I can tell he's going to be an amazing father."

As for the gender of the baby, she really could be having a boy. Hollyscoop exclusively referred to their soon-to-arrive baby as a "he" on the carpet and Fergie didn't bat an eye or offer a correction. Hollsycoop
