Justin Bieber Causes Controversy With Anne Frank House Visit
(Radio.com) Justin Bieber made a stop at the Anne Frank House on Friday, April 12, during his European tour and left a message in their guest book that has caused an outpouring of unhappiness on the Internet.

The museum, located in Amsterdam, posted to their Facebook page a transcription of Bieber's message: "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber."

It has generated hundreds of replies, most of them negative and addressing Bieber's perceived sense of self-importance in the face of a giant figure in history.

The Anne Frank House elaborated on Bieber's visit, saying he "visited the Anne Frank House, together with his friends and guards" and that the pop singer "stayed more than an hour in the museum." more on this story

R. Kelly Joins Phoenix On Stage At Coachella
(Radio.com) It was a moment so surreal that "unexpected" doesn't even begin to describe it. While many in the packed field in front of Coachella's main stage on the festival's second night were hoping to see Phoenix use their headlining slot to repeat the magical moment in 2010 when Daft Punk joined them onstage at New York's Madison Square Garden, what they got was something far more inspired than a mere (albeit desirable) rerun.

Toward the end of Phoenix's crowd-pleasing set, out strolled none other than R&B mega-star R. Kelly, wearing a bejeweled baseball cap and motocross gear, to sing his hits "Ignition (Remix)" and "I'm a Flirt" over the band performing the melody of their own hit, 2008 single "1901″ and new song "Chloroform."

While some in the crowd seemed legitimately confused at what was occurring onstage in front of them, a majority of the masses gathered for Phoenix's set were excited by the surprise pairing, lustily singing along to R. Kelly's lyrics.

No one appeared more excited by the proceedings than Phoenix themselves, who flashed huge grins throughout the song, with Kelly exchanging hugs with frontman Thomas Mars and guitarist Laurent Brancowitz on his way offstage. more on this story

Rick Ross Apologizes For Rape Lyrics
(Radio.com) After being dropped by Reebok, Rick Ross is finally speaking out about the lyrics that critics have said glorify rape. In a statement released by Ross on Friday (April 12), he apologizes for his verse on Rocko's single "U.O.E.N.O." in which he raps about slipping a girl a "Molly" (MDMA) tab without her knowledge and later having sex with her.

"Before I am an artist, I am a father, a son, and a brother to some of the most cherished women in the world," he writes. "So for me to suggest in any way that harm and violation be brought to a woman is one of my biggest mistakes and regrets."

In the statement, Ross goes on to say: "As an artist, one of the most liberating things is being able to paint pictures with my words. But with that comes a great responsibility. And most recently, my choice of words was not only offensive, it does not reflect my true heart. And for this, I apologize."

He speaks directly to any woman who "felt the sting of abuse, I apologize. I recognize that as an artist I have a voice and with that, the power of influence." more on this story

Kelly Rowland Wants To Team Up With Nas
(Radio.com) Kelly Rowland has secured the ladies of Destiny's Child for a track on her forthcoming album, Talk a Good Game, but she still has some outstanding collabos to lock down. With a nod to a Mariah Carey song that features Nas, she has big plans for a record she has yet to record.

"I have something I want [Nas] to be on right now," she told Radio.com in a recent interview. "I just have to ask him."

She went on to explain how Mariah inspired her ideal collaboration. "[I heard] an incredible collaboration [he did] with Joe and Mariah and it felt good."

The song Rowland referenced, "Thank God I Found You (Make It Last Forever)," is a remix from Mariah's 1999 album Rainbow, in which she updated Keith Sweat's "Make It Last Forever" with a rap verse from Nas and vocals from Joe.

"I have a record and I kinda wanna do that, too," said Rowland. "Taking a page from Mariah's book, respecting her. I would love to collaborate with Nas and Joe on a song that I have." more on this story

Daft Punk Tease With Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers Clip
(Radio.com) Revered dance duo Daft Punk continued their shock-and-awe promotional campaign for the band's wildly anticipated fourth studio album Random Access Memories by debuting a music video teaser on the large screens flanking the main stage of the Coachella music festival.

Just moments before New York art-rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs took the stage, fans were shocked and delighted to see Daft Punk's distinctive logo appear on the projection screens, followed by an extended clip from the new song, "Get Lucky."

Already notorious for being the song loop used in the first Random Access Memories TV commercials that debuted during Saturday Night Live, the Coachella video revealed even more of the tune, with N*E*R*D frontman/Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams on lead vocals and studio legend Nile Rodgers of disco pioneers CHIC on guitar, with the robots (Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo) on drums and bass.

According to Rolling Stone, the members of Daft Punk were at Coachella with Pharrell Williams and watched the fans wild reactions from the side of the main stage. In an interview today with Phoenix, Stryker asked the band if they'd spoken

"We were drawing a parallel between the brain and the hard drive – the random way that memories are stored," Bangalter said in regards to the new album title. more on this story

LL Cool J Elaborates On Accidental Racist With Brad Paisley
(Radio.com) LL Cool J appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday night, and he spent the first half of his interview discussing the song that's been getting loads of attention this week- his collaboration with Brad Paisley, "Accidental Racist."

"The song wasn't perfect," LL admits right upfront. "You can't fit 300 or 400 years of history into a three or four minute song."

Written by Paisley with songwriter Lee Miller, and featuring LL on guest vocals, "Accidental Racist" has been criticized by multiple media sources this week (Brad's album hit stores Tuesday), mostly for its lyrics. In one passage, for instance, LL sings that "If you don't judge my do-rag, I won't judge your red flag," refering to the Confederate flag. Many felt that wasn't a balance comparison.

LL clarifies that line to Leno. "I in no way would ever compare the history of the Confederate flag–when you think about the rapes, tortures, murders, lynching, all of the things associated with the Confederate flag–with a do rag."

LL emphasizes, "I would never, ever suggest that we should forget slavery and act like that didn't happen. But you know what, if the playing field is unlevel, and you feel it's unfair, then putting down some of that baggage will help you make up that hill a little easier." more on this story

Ed Sheeran Remakes 'Lego House' Video With Real Legos
(Radio.com) Ed Sheeran's hit song gets a brand new video, featuring enough building blocks to fill a life-sized "Lego House." The new version of Sheeran's "Lego House" video features a shot-for-shot remake of the official video using the titular Lego toys in the place of real-life actors.

This remake is painstakingly accurate to the original, following a plastic version of actor Rupert Grint as he mopes about a Lego brick world until encountering the Lego-style Sheeran himself.

The two videos are displayed on a split screen with the live action on the right and the Lego stop motion animation on the left. The result is as uncanny as the resemblance between Ed and Rupert themselves.

From the costumes to the set pieces, this new Lego-style "Lego House" nails the original, and the use of a Harry Potter Ron Weasley Lego figure as Ruper Grint's character from the video is particularly inspired toy casting. Watch it here.

Kelly Clarkson Recording Christmas Album
Kelly Clarkson is reportedly recording a Christmas album with "Stronger" producer Greg Kurtin, according to various reports. But a planned release date is not known.

Clarkson told CMT Radio Live with Cody Allan "I've been dying to make a Christmas record for more than a decade and I'm finally making one," according to HitFix.

They report that Clarkson said that the new festival album will probably be her favorite record that she has made because she loves Christmas.

Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn recently let the cat out of the bag on Facebook posting that he is singing on Clarkson's Christmas album.

She also shared why she made the "From Justin To Kelly" movie and who she would like to co-star with in a sequel. You can read about that here.

Joe Jonas Asks Fan Out With Awkwardly Hilarious Video
(Radio.com) Joe Jonas might not have been able to take one female fan to her college formal, but he found a pretty great way to decline.

On April 2, Pepperdine University senior Shaina Kohli shot a homemade video asking her favorite Jonas Brother to attend her one last college dance on April 13. Since it was uploaded, the video has been viewed over 158,000 times.

Two days before the big event, Jo Bro released his own little clip. Though he unfortunately cannot attend her formal, Jonas offered up an even better consolation prize.

Lying down in front of the fire (well, a screen of the Yule log) with George Michael's "Careless Whisper" playing in the background, Jonas plays the role of a suave gentleman, sipping wine and reading the Idiot's Guide to Sailing.

Coming to her straight from a undisclosed cabin, Joe lays his cards on the table, "except the Joker." Though he declines Kohli's original invitation, he offers to escort her to the kickoff of his band's tour in Chicago, IL on July 10.

"I want you front row, or onstage," he says. "Your choice." Watch it and read more here.
