Michael Jackson Star Maps Seller Expelled from Death Site
(TMZ) The woman who has made a bundle selling star maps near the home where Michael Jackson died has been ordered to move her operation -- folding chair and all.

Linda Welton had a booming business after MJ died, servicing a steady stream of tourists who created a perilous line on Sunset Blvd. to buy maps from her.

Welton set up shop just feet from the house where MJ passed, and the owners of the estate sued her ... claiming they couldn't sell the property because Welton had created such a nuisance and safety hazard.

A judge has now ruled Welton must move her business ... but all is not lost. The judge said Welton could sell her maps down the block, but the problem is that the new location is not visible from Sunset Blvd. .... which is how she gets much of her business.

The ruling doesn't solve all of the property owner's problems, because convoys of tour buses descend on the estate daily. more on this story

Don Cornelius' Ex-Wife Stands To Make Six Figures From Life Insurance
(TMZ) Don Cornelius died with 2 life insurance policies worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the ex-wife hated will get all the money ... TMZ has learned.

Don's breakup with Viktoria Chapman Cornelius was brutal. He was convicted of domestic abuse and, according to him, she pepper sprayed him multiple times.

During the divorce in 2009, Don said in legal docs obtained by TMZ, 'I am 72 years old. I have significant health issues. I want to finalize this divorce before I die."

The divorce was indeed finalized later that year, but there's a provision in the settlement agreement that says Don must make Viktoria the beneficiary of both of his life insurance policies -- totaling around $300,000 in benefits.

Under California law, if a policyholder commits suicide within 2 years of the time the policy is issued, the company can deny payment. But Don had the policy for more than 2 years, so Viktoria -- the woman he despised -- will get the loot. more on this story

Demi Moore Partied at Miley Cyrus Bash
(TMZ) Just 9 days before her whip-it induced medical emergency ... Demi Moore partied under the radar at Miley Cyrus' BF's birthday bash in L.A.

Multiple sources who were at Club Icon on January 14 tell us ... Demi was hanging out with her daughter Rumer and some young friends ... mostly kickin' it in the VIP section.

We're told Demi was drinking Red Bull all night ... a drink she's been obsessively sucking down for years. We're told she left with Rumer sometime after midnight.

A few days later, Demi was seen clubbing with Rumer around Hollywood ... and on January 23rd, she was hospitalized after inhaling nitrous oxide in the form of whip-its, a drug that's super popular with high school kids. more on this story

Joe Jackson Appears To Side With Perfume Co in Michael Jackson Dispute
(TMZ) Joe Jackson must have been having an out-of-body experience Friday ... the man who played the role of marionette to one of the most successful musical groups ever spent the day hocking cheap perfume at a Las Vegas mall.

Joe was the special guest at the Julian Rouas Paris kiosk, which is hocking "Jackson Perfumes." A famous sketch of Michael Jackson looms large amidst the perfumes.

And the whole operation may be illegal. As TMZ previously reported -- Bravado International -- which owns the trademark to all things Michael Jackson -- is suing Julian Rouas Paris, alleging the company never got permission to use Michael's name or image.

But that didn't stop Joe, although it appears he dozed off during the slow period.

The good news ... there's no line if you want an autograph. more on this story

James Farentino Died From A Broken Hip
(TMZ) Hollywood legend James Farentino didn't die from heart failure -- according to the actor's death certificate, obtained by TMZ, he died from every old person's worst nightmare ... a broken hip.

There were reports the actor croaked thanks to a bum ticker -- but while his heart may have been a contributing factor in his demise ... the official cause of death is listed as "sequelae of right hip fracture."

For those who don't know ... sequela is doctor-speak for a pathological condition that stems from a previous injury -- in this case, a broken hip.

According to the death cert, Farentino broke his hip in December after falling out of his bed. The nature of the complication that eventually killed him last month is unclear.

Farentino was 73. more on this story

Khloe Kardashian Claims Self Defense In Transgender Fight
(TMZ) Khloe Kardashian just launched her first counter-attack after a transgender person sued her for assault -- insisting she didn't do anything wrong during the 2009 street scuffle ... she merely acted in self-defense.

Khloe filed the response in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming Chantal Spears deserved what she got -- because she provoked Khloe into getting physical.

According to Khloe's response, the reality star's conduct "was reasonably necessary for her self-defense and safety."

As we first reported, Chantal sued Khloe in December, claiming Khloe attacked her out of nowhere outside a Hollywood nightclub in 2009 ... for telling Lamar he was "too young to be married."

So far, no word back from Chantal. more on this story

NBA Legend Bill Bridges Steamed Over Spa Injuries
(TMZ) NBA legend Bill Bridges claims he was left permanently scarred by a recent trip to a Marriott spa -- where the steam room allegedly seared his skin and eyes -- and now, he's suing the hotel for ruining his life.

Bill -- who won a championship ring with the Golden State Warriors in 1975 -- filed the lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming he visited the steam room last year at the Le Merigot Spa in the Marriott Santa Monica ... and upon entering, a cloud of steam "engulfed Mr. Bridges' face."

As a result, the 72-year-old Bridges claims he "suffered severe burns to his face and to his eyes, skin discoloration, and permanent scarring."

According to the lawsuit, Bridges has sought expensive treatments from both a dermatologist and ophthalmologist -- and has since been unable to see clearly, drive, work, and play golf.

Bridges claims he "also suffers from psychological trauma, and has been unable to go to [another] steam room."

He's suing for unspecified damages, totaling at least $250,000. Calls to the Marriott have not been returned. more on this story

Deion Sanders Source Denies Estranged Wife's Allegations
(TMZ) Deion Sanders says his estranged wife is straight up LYING ... telling friends he NEVER offered her cash for sexual favors ... and insists Pilar is simply trying to extort him for millions.

TMZ broke the story ... Pilar just filed an emergency motion in Texas, claiming Deion is holding her as a "financial hostage" ... cutting off her cash flow ... and only offering to give her cash in exchange for ass.

Sources close to Deion tell us the accusations are entirely untrue ... and claim the NFL legend recently sent her a cashier's check for $10,000 ... which Pilar REJECTED.

Pilar's lawyer, Larry Friedman, tells us she refused to accept the money because Deion presented the check as a "partial payment" towards the prenup ... a prenup she believes is invalid.

We're told Pilar was only promised $1,000,000 in the prenup ... but Friedman believes she's entitled to MILLIONS more ... saying, "The offer does not reflect the assets in the estate and does not account for the time, effort, devotion, and faithfulness Pilar has invested in the marriage."

A close adviser to Deion tells us ... "Pilar has continued to make false statements in an attempt to extort additional money, in spite of the generous pre-nup that she voluntarily signed. Deion is going to allow a judge to resolve this privately, then he looks forward to setting the record straight publicly at the appropriate time." more on this story

Mel Gibson Settles Tire Suit
(TMZ) Things are rubber ducky for Mel Gibson ... we've learned he just settled a bitter lawsuit over recyclable tires.

Gibson was sued by a dude who claims -- at the behest of Mel -- he invested his life savings in a company called Green Rubber, which developed technology to devulcanize rubber so old tires could be recycled.

Nader Sherif claimed Mel promised the guy could sell his stock back to the company at any time and get his money back, and he further claimed Mel promised to personally write him a check if the Green Rubber refused. Yes, you guessed it. Sherif wanted his jack back, the company refused and Mel told him to pound sand.

Sources tell TMZ ... Mel paid Sherif something, but we don't know exactly how much. more on this story
