Charlie continues, taking a shot at the show, saying, "Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB." Essentially, Charlie is saying the age group that supported him is going to tune out.

Rick Springfield Threatened To Kill Deputy Sheriff
(TMZ) Rick Springfield threatened to kill a deputy sheriff and the deputy's family the night he was arrested for drunk driving ... yet there is no mention of the incident in the arrest report -- law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Springfield was arrested in Malibu on May 1 and blew a .10 -- above the legal limit. Sources tell us ... Springfield was extremely angry after the deputy said his $200,000, 1963 Corvette Stingray would be towed away. Law enforcement sources tell us, Springfield yelled to the deputy, "If you tow my car I will f**king kill you and your family."

Law enforcement sources tell us ... back at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, the captain who runs the station asked the deputy, "Did you really feel threatened?" Our sources say some of the deputies at the station felt it was a loaded question, trying to minimize Springfield's statement. In the end, our sources say there was no mention of the threat in the arrest report -- the report merely says Springfield was "belligerent." more on this story

Gavin DeGraw Releases Single and Sets Album Release
J Records have set an August 9th, 2011 release date for Gavin DeGraw's brand-new album, Sweeter, but you can get a taste of the effort today.

The album's first single, "Not Over You," which Gavin co-wrote with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, who also produced the track, will premiere today May 16th on AOL Music, impacts radio on June 6th and will be available for purchase through iTunes and all other digital providers on June 7th.

Gavin and Ryan first met when they performed on the same bill and the two, both groove-minded piano players, decided to write together. "Not Over You," which poignantly evokes the difficulty of getting over someone, is one of two songs Gavin co-wrote with Ryan for Sweeter, which was recorded in several locations, including Ryan's studio in Denver, Blackbird Studio in Nashville, producer Butch Walker's space in Venice, CA (where Bob Dylan recorded some tracks in the '70s), and the legendary Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood. The album finds the New York native — beloved for his blue-eyed soul vocals, freewheeling melodies, and earthy charm — experimenting with new sounds, which resulted in a potent, swaggering strut, both musically and lyrically, on sexually charged songs like the R&B-infused "Sweeter" and "Radiation." The racier moments are balanced out by more emotionally transparent songs like the vigorous "Not Over You," and the uplifting "Soldier" and "You Know Where I'm At," which convey a vulnerability while still managing to feel distinctly masculine.

Another Twist In Celeb Herpes Case
(TMZ) Sources connected with the mystery celebrity herpes lawsuit tell TMZ ... the lawyer for the person who allegedly contracted herpes during a Las Vegas romp has been negotiating a financial settlement with the celeb. And, by the way, the incident DID NOT OCCUR ON APRIL 1.

Our sources say before the lawsuit was filed, attorney Keith Davidson contacted the celebrity's rep and began negotiating a settlement, but the amount was "way too low" for the plaintiff. We're told Davidson then decided to file the lawsuit "as a warning shot across the bow."

After the suit was filed, our sources say negotiations have continued and the celeb has upped the settlement ante, although the parties are still far apart. more on this story
