Clint Eastwood To Direct Beyonce in A Star is Born Remake
(Gibson) Clint Eastwood will produce and direct a new remake of the film A Star Is Born, starring Beyonce Knowles. Warner Brothers is rumored to have an interest in casting Will Smith as the male lead opposite Knowles, but that role has yet to be determined.

This will be the third remake of the classic story about an aging movie star who helps a young singer and actress find fame. The original film debuted in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March; the second film came in 1954 and starred Judy Garland and James Mason; and the most recent version was in 1976, starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

Knowles, age 29, has previously starred in the films Dreamgirls, Obsessed and Cadillac Ranch, in which she portrayed singer Etta James. Eastwood, who starred in his first film in 1955, has produced and directed dozens of films — including the more recent blockbusters Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River and Invictus. more on this story
