Drake and Justin Timberlake To Help Kick Off New MTV Show

This coming Monday, Drake and the cast of the film, "The Social Network" (Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake) will help MTV kick off their new show "The Seven". Here is the official scoop:

MTV today announced the launch of The Seven, a daily, half-hour, live studio based show that counts down the seven must-know pop culture-driven stories of the day, along with live interviews and performances. Hosted by former Chicago radio personality Kevin Manno and former "Mets Weekly" host Julie Alexandria, the show will be presented live in front of a studio audience in New York's entertainment hub, Times Square.

The show will debut on September 27th at 5pm ET/PT. Each episode of "The Seven" will give MTV viewers an edge up on the seven things that will most impact their world including celebrity, music, movies, and television news, as well as a myriad of other topics including sex, dating and fashion. Fast-paced with a fun vibe, the program will originate from Times Square, but its content will span the globe. - more on this story

Hannah Montana Forever Soundtrack Announced

Disney is releasing Hannah Montana Forever, the fourth season soundtrack for the Miley Cyrus show, on October 19th.

The album features Miley Cyrus collaborating with Iyaz, Sheryl Crow and Billy Ray Cyrus.

The Hannah Montana Forever soundtrack will have its broadcast debut on Radio Disney's Planet Premiere feature with host Ernie D on Sunday, October 17 (7:00 p.m., ET/ 4:00 p.m., PT) with a rebroadcast on Monday, October 18 (12:00 p.m., ET/ 9:00 a.m., PT). - more on this story

Gary Wright is set to perform "Dream Weaver" during this upcoming PBS Great Performances taping of "David Foster and Friends" at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (show to air in March 2011).

David Foster played Hammond organ / Fender Rhodes on the entire 1975 Dream Weaver album. Here is the announcement about the event:

The Roots Dare 2 Dream

Dare 2 Dream, a benefit concert and silent auction that will be featuring The Roots, will be at The House Of Blues Chicago on December 4, 2010 with proceeds going to The People's Music School to help bring funding and awareness to music education within the community.

Disco icon Gloria "I Will Survive" Gaynor will be the headline performer for the opening ceremonies of the Huntsman World Senior Games on October 5th to raise awareness of knee osteoarthritis(OA), including her own experience with the pain of this potentially debilitating condition.

The Huntsman World Senior Games is an international sports competition scheduled for October 4-16 in St. George, Utah. More than 10,000 athletes will participate in this year's Games, the highest number in the event's history.

"I know all too well the overwhelming nature of pain resulting from knee osteoarthritis, and its impact on daily activities," said Ms. Gaynor. "For me, climbing steps to the stage, dancing and exercising were all affected. Sharing my experience to help others means the world. Rare and unreleased material from Bing Crosby is coming on November 9th including a 19 song CD of Christmas rarities, two disc collection of Bing's Christmas television specials, all making their DVD debut and a 7" vinyl single release of the classic Crosby/Bowie duet The Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth.

Geoffrey Armes Revisits Iron Curtain Era Berlin on New Album

Geoffrey Armes' next album, "Inside a Wall," is slated to be released on October 28th, 2010. Now a resident of NYC, the British musician spent the majority of his adult life globe trotting, picking up a wide array of musical and cultural influences, evident in his music. Armes' work has been described as an enticing fusion of jazz, ambient, electro-acoustic, and world music.

As a young man living in West Berlin in the 1980s, Armes kept a journal chronicling his experiences. When he left Germany to continue his world journey, the journal lay hidden, unnoticed, and unopened for almost 20 years. Upon finding the notebook, Armes was taken aback by the stories of his former life in "a city that no longer exists." Once the Berlin Wall came down, the East and West sides quickly reunited to create a whole greater than the former sum of their parts. These stories became the lyrics of ARMES' new album, "Inside a Wall."

The title was inspired by what Armes describes as "the strange experience of literally living inside the walls of West Berlin, the only area in East Germany not occupied by the USSR in the 1980s." A keen observer of human nature, ARMES insight into the rapid changes experienced by the city's residents makes for a unique and moving story set to his original music. - more on this story
