He is charged with being a felon with a gun and carrying a concealed, stolen weapon. more (ASB) Another track from Kanye West has just been released. Called Good Friday, the song is a star-studded affair with the likes of Kid Cudi, Common, Big Sean, Pusha T and Charlie Wilson on the line-up. more (Hollywood Reporter) A Garth Brooks song is becoming a two-hour Lifetime TV movie. Inspired by the country singer's 1990 No. 1 hit "Unanswered Prayers," Lifetime has cast Samantha Mathis and Eric Close in the lead roles. more (Yahoo) Take That's Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow performed live together for the first time in 15 years on Sunday, singing their new single "Shame" at a charity concert in London to raise money for British soldiers more (ASB) Simon Cowell has lashed out at Lou Reed for allegedly refusing permission for Scottish singer Susan Boyle to perform his "Perfect Day" anthem - branding the decision "pathetic". One night a year MTV returns to their roots and actually features music when they put on the MTV Video Music Awards. This year's event took place on Sunday night. Here is the official wrap-up and winner list: Lady Gaga dominated the 2010 MTV VMAs, adding eight to her collection of Moonmen with awards including "Video Of The Year," "Best Dance Video," "Best Pop Video" and "Best Female Video." Eminem, who opened this year's Awards with a triumphant performance, walked away with two statues for "Best Male Video" and "Best Hip Hop Video." VMA newcomers 30 Seconds To Mars and Florence + The Machine took home their first wins for "Best Rock Video" and "Best Art Direction," respectively. Justin Bieber was voted "Best New Artist." A year after Taylor Swift's first VMA win was interrupted by Kanye West, the two returned to musically play out last year's drama, once again on the VMA stage. For an exclusive live performance, Taylor sang "Innocence," an emotional song she wrote about how she felt after last year's incident. Later in the evening and this year as an official performer, Kanye debuted "Runaway" (featuring Pusha T from Clipse), a personal statement on the turbulence of the last year.

Robert Francis returned to the U.S. for a run of headlining dates and shows supporting Jason Mraz which kick off this past weekend. The four week jaunt includes a performance at this year's FarmAid concert on October 2 in Milwaukee, where he'll also share the stage with the likes of legends Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp as well as noteworthy acts like Jeff Tweedy, Band of Horses, and more. Last fall saw the release of Robert's label debut, Before Nightfall. Produced by Grammy award winner D. Sardy, the album has a warmth and organic vibe that showcases Robert's take on timeless American rock.

Shunda K reunites with Yo! Majesty's Shon B on "I'm Da Best" single which is due out on October 25th. The song, "I'm Da Best" marks the first time that the two ladies have appeared on record together since the legendary track "Club Action" that started the Yo! Majesty phenomenon in the first place. Shunda explains, "I created da name and vision of Yo! Majesty in January, 1998. I made it a group when I met Shon B in 2000." A decade later, the pair and is back and the message is intact. According to Shunda K, "I'm Da Best" is "
dedicated to all my ladies out there dat felt you had to sacrifice your bodies for a place in dis world." The track will be officially released on October 26th, 2010 as part of a nearly hour-long maxi-single featuring the album version along with remixes by a host of up and coming producers including The Superions, Pumpsta, The Surecut Kids, ConeyGurl and others.

Playing For Change have announced some additional dates to their North American Fall tour. The 29-city tour follows a successful summer run, and kicks off with a newly added 10/9 show at The Eccles Center for the Performing Arts in Park City, UT. Also added to the initial tour announcement are shows at The Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara (10/28), ParkWest in Chicago (11/10), and Stage One in Fairfield, CT (11/20). The tour will close on 11/22 in Alexandria, VA.

The Board and Overseers of the Boston Landmarks Orchestra announced today that its founder and conductor, Charles Ansbacher, died on September 12, 2010 at 7:55 p.m. at his home in Cambridge. Although knowing for the past 13 months that he had an incurable brain tumor, he courageously continued his life's mission of bringing free orchestral music to diverse audiences.Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 5, 1942, Ansbacher found his love for music at a young age, encouraged by his parentsnoted Adlerian psychologists Drs. Heinz Ludwig and Rowena Ripin Ansbacher. He majored in physics at Brown University, but he switched to music after creating a successful chamber orchestra with his classmates. His musical studies also included the University of Cincinnati and the Mozarteum in Austria. Ansbacher moved to Colorado, where he helped build the Colorado Springs Symphony and the Pikes Peak Performing Center. In 1976, Ansbacher went to Washington, D.C. as a White House Fellow. He was influential in pushing forward a bill allowing a percentage of federal funds for mass transit projects to be spent on arts.
