M83's Morgan Kibby Launches White Sea
M83's Morgan Kibby sets sail as White Sea, who's debut ep, This Frontier, will hit on October 5th.

Morgan Kibby captured hearts and eardrums as the beautiful, spectral voice on M83's near universally acclaimed LP, Saturdays = Youth. White Sea emerges out of Kibby's creative endeavors with French electronic-pop guru M83. Having started as a co-writer, including the runaway anthem "Kim & Jessie," Kibby went on to contribute vocals and synthesizers on stage, stepping into a more collaborative role and soaking in all there was to learn in her rousing setting.

"While on tour with M83, I was exposed to so many new things," Kibby explains. "When I returned home, I sat down and taught myself Pro Tools, and how to produce. I've really spent the last year figuring out what music I'm excited about making." - more on this story

Alicia Keys Explains Alicia's Keys
Did you know that Alicia Keys has her very own software? Guitar Center sent over this 411: Guitar Center has featured Alicia Keys on the cover of their September "Hi-Tech Guide" issue to discuss the creative need and use of her Native Instruments piano software, "Alicia's Keys."

Keys' collaboration with Native Instruments in designing a virtual piano software is a first of its kind. The new and innovative software emulates Keys' Yamaha C3 Neo Grand Piano and allows musicians of all levels to recreate the rich sounds that embody her soulful music. Together with her Engineer, Ann Mincieli, Sample Specialist Thomas Skarbee, and Impuse Response Specialist Ernest Cholakis, Keys created a virtual piano software that would also simplify her recording process.

In her interview with Guitar Center Magazine, Keys says, "I wanted to be able to take my piano sound on the road with me as well as have it any time I wanted to record." Keys continues, "We all got together in my studio and started to create it by going through this long process of sampling, recording every note, sound and expressive nuance. We ended up with my entire piano in virtual form."

Roach Gigz Mix and Matching
Roach Gigz is mix and matching. Roach has combined two amusing songs, "Goomba Pimpin" and "Kirplunk", from off his latest project, the Roachy Balboa mixtape.

The concept and tone of this quirky video is the brainchild of Gigz, creating the entire video treatment for the first time himself and shooting the video with longtime collaborator, filmmaker Aris Jerome.

"I want people to have fun and live life as good as they can. Life is too serious to be serious all the time," says Gigz. He conveys this outlook with creative, straightforward, yet comical lyrics that provide the scenes in this video with amusing commentary like, "Ok/ I want my funnel long/ forget the short cake/ I'm on a tour date/ Tryna fill mine go work on your plate/I said hey whore like her name was jorge/ this rap s*** really make girls adore me." The songs are easy and upbeat, with Gigz flowing over them with a seemingly effortless skill and light attitude that shows how much fun Gigz had in creating the songs and the video. With heavy themes in tracks like "Magic Gas" and "Pop Off", both also previously released from off the Roachy Balboa mixtape, the "Goomba Pimpin/Kirplunk" video is a welcomed change of pace that does its job, it entertains and inspires a chuckle or two...or three. - watch the video here

Special Chilly Gonzales Shows and New Video
Chilly Gonzales has announced two special live shows in the U.S. which will also be film screenings and gives out some details about his new video.

The new video for the song "Bittersuite", from the new Chilly Gonzales album Ivory Tower (Sept. 14; Arts & Crafts), is comprised of scenes from the film of the same name, produced/written/starring the maestro himself, along with a cast of characters played by cohorts Peaches, Tiga, and Feist.

In this video we find a flashback of the egomaniacal Hershell (Gonzales) missing the performance of his girlfriend, Marsha Thirteen (Peaches), as she presents her new work, "Violinstillation." It's an amazing track, and another sneak peek into the film -- and the crazy world of Chilly Gonzales! - more on this story

Audio Bullys To Go Higher in November
The End Records have set a November 9th release date for Audio Bullys new album Higher Than The Eiffel.

The release follows a four year gap since the pair's second album, Generation, and sees Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale recapture the energy and dance floor instincts that made Audio Bullys one of the most successful UK dance acts of the previous decade. Mixing their love of house and breaks with an expansive cast list of musical collaborators, switching across dance's myriad genres and throwing away the rule book has led Audio Bullys to make their finest record to date, a worthy successor to breakthrough debut Ego War and follow up Generation, which spawned the massive worldwide hit, "Shot You Down."

Audio Bullys make no secret of the fact that the long gap between Generation and Higher Than The Eiffel was in part down to that massive success. Having lost their way following the release of the last album, Higher Than The Eiffel sees the pair return to top form after a few false starts. Recorded in a six month burst through 2009 and made with the express intent of creating an album for their mates rather than a record company, to be 'respected by the people that you want to respect you' as Si puts it, the fourteen tracks range from the full on club stomp of lead single, "Only Man" and rave anthemics of "Kiss The Sky," to the psychedelic come down of "Daisy Chains," the Chic guitar disco of "Dynamite" and the ska stylings of "Goodbye." The bangers are still here but this is a complete album, a journey through various dance musics, all held together by Si's conversational lyrics and the little production twists and turns that are the hallmark of Audio Bullys sound. - more on this story

Paris Hilton, Soulja Boy, So You Think You Can Dance Can't Escape Ed Lover's Watchful Eye
What do Paris Hilton, Soulja Boy, So You Think You Can Dance, an online rap star and porn star turned rapper have in common? They are all targets on the new episode of Ed Lover's web series. Here is the 411:

Ed Lover strikes again as he wrestles with some of the ridiculous things going on in American pop culture. On his 17th episode of "C'mon Son," Ed blows off Paris Hilton and dusts Soulja Boy from his shoulder over the latest thing to go up their noses. Ed then puts on his So You Think You Can Dance judge hat on to eloquently critique Glen Davis and Brandon Jennings's "suspect" Dougie and Gaga dance moves and then sinks his teeth into the online rap-phenomenon 50-Tyson. Ed then proceeds to clown pornstar-turned-rapper Brian Pumper, declaring that Pumper is "the worst rapper I've ever heard."

Finally, Fabolous steps in to show off his Home Shopping Network worthy line of "Brian Pumper Jewels." Find out how you, too, can construct your own custom line of Brian Pumper Jewels within the comforts of your office's supply closet. - watch it here
