Kenny Chesney easily beat Lil Wayne to No 1 on the album charts. Chesney's new album, Hemingway's Whiskey, moved 181,595 copies its first week in stores according to Hits Double Daily. N-Dubz drummer Aaron Fagan has been fired from the band after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting two female fans after a gig in Scotland last year. The 25 year old was convicted last month of groping the two women at a students' union in Glasgow, Scotland during an aftershow party following the British rap group's performance in the city. more

(Yahoo) An appeals court will hear arguments Wednesday on whether Michael Jackson's father should be allowed to challenge the administrators of his son's already lucrative estate. more

Demi Lovato made a surprise visit to a Los Angeles Title 1 school on October 5th on behalf of the national "A Day Made Better" school advocacy campaign.

She will be honoring a teacher with an award and $1000 in school supplies and surprising the entire school with a live concert.

Nelly Furtado Hits Revisited
Interscope Records have announced that Nelly Furtado will celebrate her first 10 years of recording with her first greatest hits compilation, The Best Of Nelly Furtado.

The album, to be released November 16th, features #1 Pop smashes, collaborations and three previously unreleased recordings and will be available in standard and double-disc deluxe editions.

Of the previously unreleased recordings, "Night Is Young," the album's first single, was co-produced by Salaam Remi (Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse) and Staybent Krunk-A-Delic, and co-written by Nelly Furtado. Massive Attack To Give Car Ad Proceeds To Gulf Cleanup Efforts
(Press Here) Massive Attack will donate their income from the upcoming Lincoln car commercial to clean up operations in the Gulf.

This is the first time in their 20+-year career that Massive Attack have permitted their music to be used in a car commercial. The band saw the offer from Lincoln as an opportunity to help environmental groups currently working to clean up after the ecological tragedy created by the BP oil spill disaster.

Dan Black Announce Fall Live Dates
Dan Black has confirmed a batch of fall headlining shows in Seattle, Reno, San Francisco and San Diego.

The British singer and songwriter will kick things off with a performance at Austin City Limits on Saturday, October 9 and then wrap with a New York City show at Highline Ballroom on Tuesday, October 19 as part of this year's CMJ Music Marathon.
