a-ha Playing the U.S. For The First Time in 20 Years on their Farewell Tour
a-ha returned to North America last week to kick off 7 shows, before heading back to Europe for the final leg of their year-long world-wide Farewell Tour. The band will perform together for the very last time in Oslo on 4 December 2010.

Following a fantastic international career spanning 25 years and over 35 million albums sold, a-ha's Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy will perform their final shows together exactly 25 years after the release of the band's multi-platinum debut album Hunting High & Low and debut single "Take On Me", which reached number 1 in 27 countries including the USA. Since that time, "Take On Me" has been played 3 million times on American radio… the equivalent of 375 times a day for 22 years!

The band would like to thank their fans and everyone who has contributed to their amazing journey and say, "We've literally lived the ultimate boy's adventure tale, through a longer, more rewarding career than anyone could hope for. Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else – and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music. We are retiring as a band, not as individuals. Change is always difficult and it is easy to get set in one's ways. Now it is time to move on." - remaining US shows

Marc Mysterio Vs Radio Station
(World Class Records) Late Friday (approx. 11:45pm) a listener called Twin-Cities-based KHTC-FM (Now 96.3fm), a Twin-Cities Top-40 station and requested Marc Mysterio's song, "One More Time," charted 24 on KHTC's Top-40, yet the presenter cut her voice to make it appear that she was requesting the Black Eyed Peas.

"I think that it's outrageous that I call a new radio station to request a charted song by Marc Mysterio, `One More Time' (cover of Daft Punk classic) yet the host (female not named on the KHTC website on from approx 11:30pm to 3am FRI-night/SAT-morning) totally manipulated me, as a caller, by splicing my actual call whereby she said, on-air, 'you wanna hear the Black Eyed Peas, right' and then took a 'yeah' from my 5 minute call with her!" said Michelle Luftus, listener of Now 96.3fm-KHTC.

"I'm disappointed in the actions of KHTC-fm host and hope this doesn't represent a change in the station's opinion of Marc whereas they play/chart his records daily!" said Luciano Ingrosso, Marc's Manager/CEO/Joia Records(SE), Founder of Swedish House Mafia(Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello). - more on this story

Dres Releases New Video
Dres of Black Sheep is releasing his Prelude Remix EP. Having announced the remix contest winners last month, the first track off the EP is the song, "Doin' It Wrong Remix," produced by Jim B.

As the video, "Doin' It Wrong," starts, the camera follows Dres into a neighborhood playground while he raps around the new beat, laden with upbeat drums, smooth chops, and vocals from the track's title paired against a range of dynamic camera angles. From Dres' perspective, he explains, "It's a feel good video and I like that. You know a song is powerful when it can point out something that's wrong, but make you feel good at the same time."

Throughout the video, there are mirror images, cut scenes, and a fisheye lens shot, yet the videography doesn't take away from Dres's ability to reach out with the thought-provoking lyrics of the song over the infectious beat. - Watch the video here

Big 'Boss' E Plans Summer Release
Big "Boss" E plans to release his debut album this summer on VIP Entertainment. After a busy 2009 (Which included the mixtape "Grape Jelly Hoe" from The Empire [The mastermind behind Lil' Wayne's "The Drought is Over" series]), Big E is using his newfound success as fuel to propel himself into the next level.

Unlike many other rappers these days, E was never subjected to being influenced by only his immediate surroundings. Growing up in Brooklyn(in a Jamaican & Puerto Rican fused household) as a child, he heard West Coast legend Snoop Dogg on the radio and subsequently realized his life's dream. He completely submerged himself in the music, working hard at his craft developing a hardcore East Coast style.

After his family made the decision to move down south to Houston, Big "Boss" E was introduced to a southern style of rap by the sound of H-Town legend Pimp C. Immediately embracing this culture shift, his lyrical style was then matched with southern dance beats, hence making him unstoppable in the Houston underground music scene gaining local exposure through shows and a word of mouth buzz.
