Michael Jackson Doctor Will Be Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter
The LAPD investigation into the cause of Michael Jackson's death has reportedly been completed and the case will now be turned over to the district attorney with Jackson's doctor reportedly facing charges, according to reports.

FMQB reported on Friday, "Now that the LAPD has completed a thorough report, the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney within the next few weeks." The Associated Press contradicted the report that the case is closed but they reported on the expected outcome: Prosecutors are prepared to seek an indictment of Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray , on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death, the Associated Press has learned.

A law enforcement source who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation remains open said Friday that Murray would be prosecuted on a theory of gross negligence alleging that his treatment of Jackson was an extreme departure from the standard of care normally followed by physicians. - more on this story

Conan O'Brien Vs NBC
Conan O'Brien has issued a statement about the chaos over at NBC over plans to shuffle their late night lineup after their Leno in primetime experiment failed miserably (keeping in character with the rest of the NoBody Cares network's lineup). Here is what he had to say: People of Earth:

In the last few days, I've been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I've been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I've been absurdly lucky. That said, I've been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both. - more on this story

David Copperfield Attorney Addresses False Rape Claim
The Smoking Gun Reports: A two-year FBI probe into a Seattle woman's claim that she was raped by David Copperfield was closed this week, shortly after federal investigators learned that the alleged victim is being investigated for prostitution and lying to cops about a sexual assault that purportedly occurred last month, police records show. more

A PR company sent us the following statement by David Copperfield's attorney, Angelo Calfo of Yarmuth, Wilsdon, Calfo PLLC in response to the FBI's announcement: "David Copperfield, his family and friends are relieved that federal prosecutors finally closed their investigation without bringing a single charge, after Bellevue police recommended that the so-called victim be charged as a criminal for making a false rape claim last month against a Seattle-area man," Calfo said.

"Her lies to Bellevue police support what David has said all along: her two-year old claims against him are patently false, absurd and contradicted by each and every witness and by documentary evidence. - more on this story

The Who's Greatest Hits Live
The debate over which of the three greatest rock bands--Beatles, Stones and Who--is the greatest has raged for decades. But there has never been any argument over which of the three has been the greatest band in concert. The Who has reigned o'er them all.

Now, 22 recordings of the band's biggest and best-known hits--most of them never widely available or unreleased and 20 of them newly mixed by the band and its production team--have been collected on Greatest Hits Live (Geffen/UMe), released exclusively on the iTunes Store on January 19, 2010. Just a few weeks later, on February 7, The Who will take the stage once again when the group headlines the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show at Dolphin Stadium in South Florida.

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder has said that "The Who quite possibly remain the greatest live band ever" (Rolling Stone, 2004) and Greatest Hits Live justifies that statement with scintillating tracks ranging from 1965 to 2009, from London's Royal Albert Hall to the San Francisco Civic Auditorium. - more on this story
