Shakira Performs Waka Waka For 700 Million During 2010 FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremonies

700 million in 215 countries tuned in to watch Shakira and Freshlyground perform the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)," during the closing ceremonies.

Selling over a million singles has made Waka Waka the fastest-selling single and biggest-selling World Cup single of the digital age. The song is the #1 selling single in over 15 countries including Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal.

In addition, the official video for "Waka Waka" has seen nearly 100 million YouTube views and over 150 million of additional postings making it the #13 most watched video of all time and the #9 most watched music video. - more on this story

Glee Cast Member for MLB All Stars

MLB have announced a special performance by Glee star Amber Riley as part of the pre-game ceremony honoring the 30 PEOPLE "All-Stars Among Us" prior to the 2010 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 13, which will be broadcast on FOX beginning at 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET).

Amber Riley will then perform the U.S. National Anthem prior to the All-Star Game and the Canadian Anthem will be performed by the Canadian Tenors. MLB Hall of Famer Rod Carew will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Later in the game, multi platinum singer/songwriter sensation Colbie Caillat will perform "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch. The 81st Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports, in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD and Le Reseau des Sports, and around the world by Major League Baseball International. ESPN Radio will provide exclusive national radio coverage. MLB Network, MLB.com and Sirius XM also will provide comprehensive All-Star Game coverage.

On Monday, July 12, American rock band Train will perform their worldwide smash hit single "Hey Soul Sister" from their latest album SAVE ME, SAN FRANCISCO, as well as their classic hit "Calling All Angels". MLB Network will broadcast "Calling All Angels" at 4:55 p.m. PT (7:55 p.m. ET) and ESPN will broadcast both "Hey Soul Sister" and the Home Run Derby beginning at 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET). The band features Patrick Monahan (lead vocalist), Jimmy Stafford (lead guitarist) and Scott Underwood (drummer), all of whom are avid baseball fans. Leno Snags American Idol Assoc. Musical Director

Associate Music Director for American Idol Dorian Holley, who is also Artist Development Director at Los Angeles Music Academy College of Music, has left his post at American Idol to accept the job as frontman and lead vocalist for Jay Leno's Tonight Show Band.

Holley, who in 2009 joined the school's Vocal Department chaired by multiple Grammy-award-nominee Tierney Sutton, has extensive credits singing alongside the likes of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews Band, Usher, Queen Latifah, Sugarland and Rod Stewart. Holley is reunited with longtime friend and colleague Ricky Minor, whom he worked with on Idol for five seasons and who is now the music director for the Tonight Show Band.

"It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks since Leno has been back on the air, but I'm so excited to start this great new chapter in my music career," says Holley. After a quick chuckle he says, "I've been up night and day learning hundreds of songs." Holley will continue his work at LA Music Academy where his newest courses, Stage Presence, Rehearsal Technique and Showcase, were implemented this semester and are available to all students in the diploma and degree programs. - more on this story

Joe Jonas Hot in Cleveland

Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will appear as Valerie Bertinelli's son, Will, in an upcoming episode of the TV Land series, "Hot in Cleveland."

In the episode, Will Moretti (Jonas) comes to Cleveland to visit his recently transplanted mother, Melanie (Bertinelli). Jonas will appear in the August 11 episode that will be taped in front of a live studio audience on July 17.

"Hot in Cleveland" which airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesdays stars sitcom favorites Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and 16-time Emmy-nominee Betty White. - more on this story

Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato Announced For The Arthur Ashe Kids' Day

Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato will hold court with tennis stars Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick, Kim Clijsters and Novak Djokovic at the 15th Annual Arthur Ashe Kids' Day on Saturday, August 28 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Hosted by Adrienne Bailon and Quddus, the show will feature special celebrity guests including Nick Cannon. The popular full-day tennis and music festival for children and families – including interactive games, musical entertainment and tennis clinics – will also feature performances from Allstar Weekend and School Gyrls. More musical acts and tennis stars will be announced in coming weeks. Arthur Ashe Kids' Day will kick off the 2010 US Open, which runs from August 30 - September 12.

From 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., kids and their families can experience an exciting schedule of free tennis games, live music and attractions taking place throughout the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Inside Arthur Ashe Stadium from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., the live tennis and music show will feature fun exhibition matches and skills competitions with Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick, Kim Clijsters, Novak Djokovic, and other top players and celebrities with musical performances by the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and more. Catchy Songs in Country

The Oak Ridge Boys' classic "Elvira" was named the catchiest song in country music by AOL Music's "The Boot" with the lyric, "Elvira, Elvira/My Heart's on fire, Elvira/Giddy up, oom-poppa-oom-poppa-mow-mow".

Lead singer Duane Allen comments, "When I opened up my AOL account, one of the headline stories for the day was about the 10 catchiest songs in country music history, I followed the link and started to read the top 10.

"I started at 10 and wondered what would be next as I scrolled down the page. I was thinking that we would not have a song on there, then at #1 was our huge hit Elvira. You could hear me screaming all the way from Oklahoma. Thanks to Dallas Frazier for writing such a song that bought us all a new house, and a new car." - see the top 10 list

Goldfrapp have announced the release of their next single, "Believer," which will hit on September 7th through Mute.

Kylie Minogue Charts Around The World

Kylie Minogue's new studio album, Aphrodite, debuts at No 19 on the Billboard 200 this week, marking her highest U.S. chart position since 2002's Fever.

It is top 10 in such major markets as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, DC, Seattle, Miami, Chicago and Boston. Aphrodite became Kylie's fifth #1 album in the UK, hitting the top spot a full 22 years to the week since her debut album Kylie entered the chart.

The album also made Kylie the first solo artist in the history of the UK charts to have a #1 album in four different decades. Around the globe Aphrodite debuted in the top 10 in thirteen different countries including #1 in Mexico, #2 in Australia, Switzerland and Spain, #3 in Austria, France and Germany and top 5 in Belgium, Holland, Ireland and Taiwan. - more on this story

New Flo Rida and David Guetta Video Premiere

E!'s "Daily 10" worldwide premiered Flo Rida's new video for "Club Can't Handle Me (feat. David Guetta)". The show aired Friday, July 16th at 7:30pm ET/PT.

The song is the latest single from the "Step Up 3D" Soundtrack (Atlantic Records), which arrives in stores and online July 27th. "Step Up 3D" opens in theatres nationwide on August 6th. "The video is hot," said Flo Rida. "David Guetta and I took it to the next level. The club definitely can't handle us!" The clip was shot in Los Angeles by director Marc Klasfield.

"Step Up 3D – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" gathers new and previously unreleased tracks from a stunning line up of newcomers and superstars from the hip-hop, R&B, and Latin music worlds that includes Estelle, Busta Rhymes, Roscoe Dash (featuring T-Pain), and Wisin Y Yandel. Trey Songz' contribution, "Already Taken" is already climbing the charts at Urban radio, with its companion music video already going to #1 on BET's "106th & Park Countdown."
