Jaheim Radio Hit
Atlantic recording artist Jaheim, one of R&B's most beloved and enduring voices, has kicked off 2010 by scoring yet another #1 single. "Ain't Leavin Without You," the first single off of Jaheim's forthcoming album, "Another Round" (due out February 9), is #1 in both airplay and audience this week making it Jaheim's ninth Top 10 song.

On "Another Round", Jaheim maintains the lush vocals, relatable singles and uplifting lyrics that have become his trademark since his 2001 debut, but also continues to grow into the more refined, polished version that he introduced fans to on his 2007 Atlantic Records debut, "The Makings of a Man". In a time when artists are known more for whom they're romantically linked to or whether or not they use Auto-Tune, Jaheim is just what the industry needs – a familiar but fresh breath of air.

The video for "Ain't Leavin Without You" will be shot with Jadakiss in New York on January 20. A tour is being planned for February and March.

First Set Of Fela Reissues To Be Released In February
Knitting Factory Records is very excited to announce that the first set of Fela reissues will be released on February 16, 2010.

Since the reissues are being made available in chronological order, these six CDs, that contain nine albums total, represent the earliest period of the Nigerian legend's oeuvre.

The timespan of the releases is 1969 - 1974, the era during which Fela first created the sound he was to call Afrobeat, a music he always contended was a modern form of danceable, African classical music that was created out of a cross-breeding of funk, jazz, salsa, calypso, with juju, highlife and African percussive patterns. - more on this story

Rob Swift Mixes Classical and Hip-Hop On New Album
On New LP, Rob Swift Proves That Turntablism and Classical Music Have More In Common Than Anyone Ever Thought. The Architect Drops February 23rd on Ipecac Recordings.

Master turntablist Rob Swift has strived to expand the definition of Hip Hop since his first release in the mid-90's. In an age where creating an iTunes play list is the sole prerequisite for being called a DJ, Swift's boundary-pushing new release, The Architect, is a refreshing reminder that the 1's and 2's are an instrument in themselves.

Using his newfound love of classical music as a point of inspiration, Swift's latest work has as much in common with Mozart as it does with Grandmaster Flash. The innovative album has found a perfect home on fellow experimental musician Mike Patton's label, Ipecac Recordngs (Melvins, Isis, Hella). - more on this story

No Hoe for D.Lo and Snoop
D. Lo's "No Hoe" instantly caught fire throughout the Bay Area as soon as it hit the streets back in April of last year and quickly blazed its way across the country.

Receiving an incredible amount of airplay, "No Hoe" swiftly became the latest Bay to LA anthem. Within weeks D-Lo was on everyone's radar, sparking remixes by hip-hop legends Too $hort and E-40 - not bad for a new and still relatively unknown artist. Back with version 3.0, the latest remix features hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg who drops in a new verse and straight-up takes over the hook.

Mixing hyphy with gangsta, minimal melody, heavy handclaps, and West coast swagga, this version will have you second guessing which one to be bumpin' out of your speakers next time you're rolling down the street. - Download No Hoe Remix here

Virgin Vs Vampires in I Am Legend Spoof
IMD Films and MVD Visual are pleased to announce the release of I Am Virgin for North American distribution on February 23, 2010.

I Am Virgin is a spoof of I Am Legend, the 2008 science fiction release starring Will Smith. In I Am Virgin, Portland actor Adam Davis plays Robby, the last uninfected man standing in a world ravaged by a virus that has transformed all of humanity into horny, sex-crazed vampires. And as the title suggests, Robby is a virgin.

When it came time to cast the dozens of women who would chase Robby's cherry in the film, director Sean Skelding knew he needn't look too far for able-bodied talent. "Portland has some of the most beautiful strippers in the country," says Skelding. "I never for a second considered going to L.A. or Vegas to find beautiful girls to put in this movie. I figured I could take the opportunity to show the world that Portland is full of sexy, talented women who look great on film." - more on this story

Susan Boyle To Celebrate Anniversary on Oprah
Susan Boyle will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show this Tuesday, January 19, for her first TV appearance of the New Year. The performance falls almost exactly one year after her legendary performance on Britain's Got Talent, where she immediately outdid the expectations of the judges, the audience and anyone with access to YouTube by dazzling her way through "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables.

On Oprah, Boyle will perform "Who I Was Born To Be," an original recording that was written especially for Susan and appeared on her multi-platinum debut 'I Dreamed A Dream' (Columbia Records). She'll also discuss her whirlwind success – dubbed "Boylemania" by Entertainment Weekly.

"Astounding and humbling," says Boyle of her success with 'I Dreamed A Dream.' The album monopolized the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for six consecutive weeks, broke numerous Soundscan records, and has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. - more on this story

Wu Tang Return of the Wu & Friends
Since their debut album, 1993's Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Wu-Tang has become synonymous with gritty, direct lyrics and beats that draw from classic soul, horn-blasted funk, cinematic curios, and dirty guitar licks (among many others.) With each successive album, the group solidifies their hold on hip-hop, watching over the years as rappers, trends and ephemeral styles come and go and become musical footnotes in the game.

As devoted fans clamor and salivate for anything Wu-related, Gold Dust & Nature Sounds are proud to announce the release of Return of the Wu & Friends, produced and compiled by Wu-Tang Clan producer/DJ Mathematics and including some exclusive tracks, lost gems and old time favorites featuring all nine emcees.

The 16 tracks featured on Return of the Wu & Friends were compiled from songs recorded during the group's critically acclaimed 2000 album The W through 2008, including exclusive tracks like "Steppin 2 Me" featuring GZA, Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa. The producer also offers a slew of new remixes, including "Respect Mine" and "Clap". On the former, featuring Raekwon, Method Man and Cappadonna, the sprightly piano loop found on the original (from Mathematics' 2003 solo album Love, Hell or Right) gets flipped into a slower, more ominous track anchored by a funky slap bass line.

Jason Mraz Gets His Own Signature Guitar
San Diego-based troubadour Jason Mraz has spent the past thirteen years performing everywhere from local coffee shops to stadiums with his Taylor guitars. Along the way, Mraz has released three studio albums, several EP's and live albums including the recently released Beautiful Mess - Live on Earth DVD/CD. Mraz's live shows have garnered critical acclaim around the world and his albums have earned multiple Grammy nominations. Late last year, his hit single, "I'm Yours", set a music industry record for the most weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. In early December, Mraz visited the Taylor factory to meet with the company's design team and to complete work on his own Taylor model, the Jason Mraz Signature Model (JMSM).

The JMSM is based on Mraz's go-to guitar, a Taylor nylon-string NS72ce, a guitar he says "nurtured a whole album's worth of songs" and in performances, "gave me a way to communicate with the audience without a guitar standing in my way. It felt like it was part of me, it was a part of the energy that I wanted to put out there." Crafted from a back and sides of Indian rosewood and a top of Western Red cedar, the JMSM includes key design touches provided by Mraz. The fretboard inlay, in Mexican cypress, features the phrase "Be Love" set below a design that features a triangle within a circle, which mirrors a forearm tattoo he got in July 2009. "I chose this symbol simply because I want to be whole in mind, body and soul," he explains. "I think that's a divine trinity there. What is 'Be Love' but cutting out the middle man. You don't have to have a certain someone to be loved. You don't have to have certain conditions to have love in your life. You can just be love. So, it's basically a practice of unconditional love, a practice of unabashed generosity."
