Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years Television Special

A beloved, universally known icon of American entertainment will be performing at the event of his lifetime this spring. It is without question that Kenny Rogers is a living legend and this evening in Nashville, TN at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in front of the assembled media, the first details were announced for an upcoming television special worthy of his musical legacy – Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years.

However, this upcoming event is far more than just a music special, Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years, will be as star studded as any award show. It will be a rollicking celebration, filled with music and comedy from some of the biggest stars in the entertainment world performing, appearing and sharing stories about Kenny Rogers and his music.

Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Alison Krauss, Wynonna and The Oak Ridge Boys are just some of the early names already slated to appear on the show. Back To Back Nick Cannon Premieres on Nickelodeon

TeenNick Chairman Nick Cannon takes the helm behind and in front of the camera as Nickelodeon presents two back-to-back movie premieres featuring the multi-talented entertainer, on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Cannon makes his movie directorial debut with School Gyrls, a new hour-long original musical comedy, which he also penned, premiering at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) and stars in the network's premiere of the popular theatrical film Drumline, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

"School Gyrls introduces the multi-talented Mandy Rain, Jacque and Monica to the teen audience," said Nick Cannon, Chairman, TeenNick. Vinyl Life Remakes Joey Beltram's Rave Classic 'Energy Flash'

In their latest tribute, Vinyl Life remakes the Techno Classic "Energy Flash" by Brooklyn's own Joey Beltram with new lyrics by Phaze Future. This was made from the ground-up with no samples.

Boog Brown entices fans with The Grind Season Vol. 1 Mixtape

Newly signed Mello Music artist Boog Brown and producer Apollo Brown join forces to form UPS with their forthcoming album The Brown Study LP, due for release in the summer of 2010. In anticipation of their debut Boog Brown is releasing a mixtape entitled The Grind Season Vol. 1.

The Brown Study LP will be the debut release from UPS, comprising Atlanta-based emcee Boog Brown and hip-hop producer Apollo Brown. Recently signed to Mello Music Group, the two artists joined forces to create an album that Boog describes as "the most vulnerable" she has ever been musically. Due for release in the summer of 2010, The Brown Study LP will showcase the truth, confidence, style, and strong sense of hip-hop integrity that UPS represent.

In anticipation of the UPS album, Boog Brown entices fans with a taste of things to come on her latest mixtape The Grind Season Vol. 1. A collection of music from the Atlanta-based artist, this latest project features production from Illastrate, Lex Boogie, 14KT and appearances from staHHr, Fluxwonda of Binkis Recs, and Mojo Swagger. "Grind Season is a state of being," says Boog on the meaning behind the mixtape's title. "Every day you must grind for your vision. Mine is making honest music." Tracks on the mixtape, including "Grind Season," "Anymode," and "The Essence" serve as perfect examples of Boog's smooth flow and propensity for delivering strong rhymes over laid-back beats. DaVinci Presents Real N*ggaz

As DaVinci continues to prepare for the March 9th release of his official debut album, The Day The Turf Stood Still, the rising Fillmore talent is dropping another pre-album song, "Real N*ggaz."

Featuring a guest verse Kaz Kyzah, formerly one half of the duo The Team along with Clyde Carson, as well as production from up-and-coming Gary, Indiana beatsmith Kris Styles and singer ROD.

The message of the song, drawing from the track's title, finds DaVinci and his fellow artists speaking on character issues. But rather than petty finger-pointing, in DaVinci's own style, he spends his verses in lyrical confrontation against, as he calls it, "The saturation of superficial, dishonest, and redundant content in the streets, media, and politics." - more on this story

Jason Derulo Debut Set For Release

Jason Derulo, the first artist signed to Warner Bros. Records' joint venture with multi-platinum songwriter and producer J.R. Rotem's label Beluga Heights, will release his self-titled debut album on Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records on March 2nd, 2010.

A gifted, genre-hopping songwriter who has created tracks for a multitude of artists such as Lil Wayne, Sean Kingston, Pitbull, P. Diddy, Danity Kane, and Iyaz (the five-week No. 1 "Replay"), Derulo's album reflects his love for all different types of music with an uncategorizable blend of pop, rock, electronic, and R&B elements that showcases this exciting newcomer's many talents. "It's definitely a music lover's album," the Miami-born 20-year-old says. "It reflects all my different influences, but it's deeply rooted in pop."

"My vision for the album was to make music that would impact the world," Derulo says. "And by that I mean that music is a healing thing. When you play your favorite song, you can forget all your troubles for three minutes. I want to provide those getaway moments for people." To that end, Derulo spent eight months in the studio, often working 20-hour days, to record more than 300 songs that he narrowed down to the nine that appear on the album. Frazey Ford Plans Solo Album Release and Lilith Tour This Summer

Beloved East Vancouver alt folk trio The Be Good Tanyas have achieved cult status since their inception in the late 90's. With classic albums Blue Horse, Chinatown and Hello Love, the three young women were met with ever growing critical and fan acclaim, appearing on countless Top 10 lists, selling out concert halls across North American and Europe and performing on such revered shows as Austin City Limits and Live with Jools Holland.Their music has also been a favorite amongst film and TV music supervisors, having been featured in numerous shows including Weeds, The L Word, Brothers & Sisters and the popular children's movie Because of Winn Dixie.

Now lead singer Frazey Ford has put the finishing touches on her long awaited solo debut.
