Gomez singer Tom Gray has soundtracked popular puppet-show adaptations of three of award-winning children's author/illustrator Polly Dunbar's books. The songs are everything great children's music should be: whimsical, goofy, musically playful, but not so simplistic or repetitive that parents can't love them too. All three shows are now available in the U.S. for the first time via the iTunes Music Store The first of Gray and Dunbar's collaborations, "Shoebaby," was based on the book written by Dunbar's mother, Joyce Dunbar, and illustrated by Polly. The puppet production of "Shoebaby" won the award for the best children's show at the Brighton Festival in 2006 and was the main children's Christmas show at the Komedia theater and cabaret venue in Brighton that year. The cast was invited to Downing Street to perform at U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown's Christmas party. The BBC's Shella Parkin wrote in a review, "Perfectly paced for its half hour duration, this puppet show's trippy story about a magical baby's adventures in a shoe is beautiful, odd, and a huge hit with its young audience.... The music for the puppet show was created by Gomez's Tom Gray -- which makes me feel slightly less embarrassed about the frequency with which I find myself humming 'Toot, toot, scoot, scoot in my magic motor shoe' in the shower.'"

(EMI) Kimberly Caldwell has released her new single, "Desperate Girls & Stupid Boys," which will be featured on her release Without Regret due out in Spring 2011. Written by Tommy Henriksen, BC Jean (Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy") and Zac Maloy, the song struck a chord with Caldwell immediately after she heard it. She explains, "I automatically connected with this song because life is so much brighter and easier when you stop trying so hard to fit in. It's important to surround yourself with the special people in your life who appreciate you for who you really are and always have your back." With lyrics like, "Drive, meet me at the corner of hope and hopeless, try to follow me I know a way out," this up tempo song could truly be inspirational to many who feel as though they don't fit in. With the recent rash of reported bullying across America, "Desperate Girls & Stupid Boys" is sure to give hope to people who may feel like outsiders.

Susan James will release her fourth full-length release Highways, Ghosts, Hearts and Home on February 15, 2011, at SusanJamesMusic.com.In the late '90s, James made a splash with her three highly-acclaimed releases, Life Between Two Worlds, Shocking Pink Banana Seat and the double-LP Fantastic Voyage. An incredible singer and an accomplished guitarist, James was hand-selected for tours with Bob Weir's Ratdog and Lindsey Buckingham. Los Angeles Times said, "James' long blond hair and folk-based songs have caused her to be compared to Joni Mitchell. The inventiveness of her eight-song set, however, showed that James is perhaps most like Mitchell because she is like no one else." Highways, Ghosts, Hearts and Home features 11 original songs by James, who has expanded her lyrical and musical reach through a psychedelic, country-folk lens, with lyrics addressing life, love, hope, colorful characters, ghost stories and good times from the viewpoint of a mature woman.
