Taylor Swift On Top With Mine

It appears that an early leak hasn't hurt the success of Taylor Swift's brand-new single, "Mine."

The song debuted this week at #1 on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart and at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was rush-released last week to radio and iTunes after an on-line leak, and the chart debuts came after only 4 1/2 days of availability.

"Mine" reached #1 on the iTunes All-genre Singles Chart and #1 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart within 6 hours of its release, and sold in excess of 297,000 downloads in just 4 days. - more on this story

Tricky Releases Video of Murder Weapon

Tricky premiered his new music video for the song "Murder Weapon," on Friday the 13th.

The track comes from his forthcoming album, Mixed Race, which will be released October 5th on Domino Records.

Directed by Fleur & Manu and featuring Irish-Italian Frankey Riley on vocals, "Murder Weapon" is a reworking of the classic dancehall hit from Jamaican-born Echo Minott. After falling in love with the song, Tricky was determined to hear how it would sound with a female vocalist, in a similar fashion to his reworking of Black Steel with Martina Topley-Bird, and recruited Riley to sing on the track. Johnny Mathis Going Country Pop

Johnny Mathis is going country pop on September 21st. That's the day that Columbia Records will release of Let It Be Me: Mathis In Nashville.

For his first full album inspired by the world of country music, Mathis, whose knowledge and love of music crosses all genres, handpicked the songs for Let It Be Me: Mathis In Nashville, songs that moved him personally and came alive under the Mathis touch.

Johnny and Fred Mollin, the album's producer, assembled a group of the finest musicians in Nashville (or anywhere in the world) to record an album intentionally free of modern studio tricks. With the superb recording engineer Khyle Lenning on board to capture the sessions, Johnny recorded these songs live in the studio over the course of a week. Pretty Lights Announces Fall Tour

Pretty Lights will be hitting the road this fall, performing over 30 shows in the United States between October and December.

Pretty Lights (aka Derek Vincent Smith) self-released Spilling Over Every Side, his second (of three!) EP's of 2010, on July 29th. In the past two weeks, the EP has been downloaded 50,000 times, proving the self-release model can work- and well, at that!

Great Northern Go High Def and Aquatic

Great Northern head underwater in their new video for "New Tricks," which premiered on Friday.

A stunning underwater odyssey, the video, directed by Jason Zada, was shot in the new ultra-high-definition 4K format against the backdrop of the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.

In technological terms, the new 4K Super HD format increases the 1080p of HD TV to 4096p while upping the bitrate by 25% and pixel density 600%, with a resolution of 4096 x 1706. In layman terms, the new format creates a higher quality picture lending itself to a more cinematic feeling video with the incredible colors of the ocean water fish in "New Tricks" jumping out from your computer screen.

Jordan Galland Releases New Video

Jordan Galland has released the third in a series of music videos from his album Search Party, for the song "Someone Loves You".

The live-action video combines Galland's archival memory and appreciation for American Cinema with his trademark tongue-in-cheek outlook on society into a story about one man's obsession with an online social networking site (it rhymes with Schmacebook) and the virtual life he's built for himself.

Our main character, played by Galland, is captured by a group of scholarly rebels, who force him to watch footage of real life events, including snapshots from Galland's own childhood and a montage of images from the 1974 American thriller, The Parallax View.

Tanya Morgan Hitting The Road

Hip-hop crew Tanya Morgan will kick off their second tour of the summer season on August 20th.

They will be blazing through Texas, New Mexico, California, and the State of Washington. Tanya Morgan will also be hitting the international stage once again, making hot-stops throughout the European cities of Ipswich, Birmingham, London, and Barcelona.

Along with this latest tour, the crew has been forging other major side projects that have set fans' decks on fire. Donwill's debut solo album Don Cusack In High Fidelity, released earlier this year, and "The Sandwich Shop" by Donwill and Von Pea, have been wildly regarded as some of the highest quality music being released today. "Jersey Shore" set new series records and now has the top 3 cable telecasts of 2010 among P12-34.

Episode 203 delivered a series high 5.3 P12-34 rating and 5.5 million total viewers, making it the #1 telecast of 2010 with P12-34.

For the third straight week "Jersey Shore" was Thursday's #1 telecast of the day among P12-34, across all of television. - more on this story

A Night of Treme Benefit Concert

House of Blues in New Orleans will host A Night of Treme benefit concert on the eve of the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Saturday, August 28 at 8:00pm, which will feature the artists and music from the HBO series Treme.

All of the proceeds from the ticket sales go to benefit Make It Right's work rebuilding safe, sustainable and affordable homes for working families in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward. In addition to the general admission ticket, guests can purchase a VIP ticket, which includes admission to the show and the after-party at House of Blues' restaurant and Voodoo Garden. The after-party will include food, open-bar and special appearances by beloved New Orleans' artists and luminaries.

"Make It Right has had a singular impact on addressing the housing needs of New Orleans after Katrina, particularly in the 9th Ward. Lloyd To Lay it Down

Lloyd has set an August 16th release for his new single, Lay it Down, his first release on Polow da Don's Zone 4 joint venture with Interscope Records.

The track, produced by Awesome Jones (aka Polow da Don), will lead the release of Lloyd's fourth album but first for Zone 4/Interscope, King Of Hearts, scheduled for early 2011.
