The Reunited Judds To Kick Off CMA Music Festival

This makes it official: The Judds are back. CMA had this announcement: Country Music's legendary duo The Judds will kick off 2010 CMA Music Festival and Fan Fair with the opening daily concert on the Riverfront Park Stage on Thursday, June 10 (10:00 AM/CT).

"The Judds performing on the Riverfront Park Stage – THAT is something worth waking up for!" said Steve Moore, CMA Chairman of the Board. "We are so excited to have Naomi and Wynonna reunite at CMA Music Festival and kick off all the festivities. We know this will be a one-of-a-kind performance as only The Judds can do."

American Idol: Season 9 Album Announced

This season of American Idol isn't even over yet but you'll be able to buy an album of highlights next month. Here is the announcement: 19 Recordings/RCA Records spotlights this year's fierce competition with American Idol: Season 9 available May 11 on CD, the new compilation includes performances by 10 of this season's top contestants.

New judge Ellen DeGeneres and the talented Idol contenders exceeded already high expectations, delivering one of the competition's best seasons. American Idol: Season 9 captures many of 2010's signature performances, including Crystal Bowersox's rocking rendition of Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee," teen heartthrob Aaron Kelly's soaring cover of Aerosmith's classic "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and Siobhan Magnus's electric version of The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black." Taking pages from the legendary Lennon/McCartney songbook, Casey James delivered a stunning performance of "Jealous Guy," while 17-year old Katie Stevens provided one of the season's brightest moments with the fan favorite "Let It Be."

American Idol's Kris Allen Inks New Deal

American Idol winner Kris Allen signed an exclusive world-wide publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG). The publishing deal encompasses Kris Allen's self-titled album as well as future works during the term of the agreement.

Jason Reeves Spring Tour and Late Night

Singer and songwriter Jason Reeves will hit the road in April for a month-long spring tour throughout the East Coast and the Midwest. He will also perform "Terrified," a song he co-wrote with Warner Bros. Records' Senior Vice President of A&R and current American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, on George Lopez's TBS show Lopez Tonight on April 19th. Reeves sings a duet of the song with Katharine McPhee, who has included it on her current album Unbroken. The track was also performed multiple times on American Idol by contestant Didi Benami, who received rave reviews from the judges and fans.

Reeves, a 25-year-old Iowa City native who was signed by DioGuardi, is completing his first album for Warner Bros. Records. His independent album, The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other Frightening Tales), was re-released by Warner Bros. Records after selling briskly as an independent release in 2007. The album's hook-filled songs of love, hope, heartbreak, and renewal, matched with Reeves' engaging tenor voice, led iTunes to name Reeves one of the Top Indie Singer-Songwriters of 2007.

Music fans may also know Reeves through his songwriting collaborations with singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat. Reeves co-wrote 10 tracks on Caillat's platinum debut album Coco, including the smash hit singles "Bubbly" and "Realize," as well as 10 tracks on her new album Breakthrough. That album's current single, "I Never Told You", was co-written by Reeves, Caillat and DioGuardi. Reeves also co-wrote the international No. 1 hit "The Show" on singer-songwriter Lenka's debut album, and has several other collaborations to be released in 2010. - more on this story

Punch Brothers Return With New Album and Tour

Punch Brothers return with their second album, Antifogmatic, June 15 on Nonesuch. The record is the follow-up to the band's highly praised 2008 debut, Punch.
