antiMusic reports: American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert tells Details "I am gay, but I like kissing women sometimes. Women are pretty. It doesn't mean I'm necessarily sleeping with them."For some reason they sent that quote over to us along with the claim that every woman in American wants to sleep with him. We don't know any, but there probably are a few. They included this gem where he bites the hand that made him, "There's a feeling of entitlement [with the fans] because they voted to get us where we are. But you know what? I am responsible for what I created on the show you voted for what I created, and thank you, but I created it, you didn't." [He said of singing OTHER people's songs on the televised karaoke contest.] Check out Details full feature which hopefully includes coverage of more serious topics, though their November issue also includes the must read coverage of a Cougar Convention and the return of Pee-Wee Herman.

antiMusic reports: Kanye West has removed the short film he made with Spike Jonze from his blog after featuring the clip for only one day. No explanation was given for the removal aside from "Sorry I had to take it down =(". Perhaps he read Johnny Firecloud of Antiquiet's take on the clip:Kanye West has collaborated with director Spike Jonze for We Were Once A Fairytale, a bizarre short film that features an interpretive spin on the 808s And Heartbreak track See You In My Nightmares. The film, which was originally intended to debut on iTunes in early September, finally hit the internet over the weekend via KanyeLive. The 11-minute journey finds Kanye acting drunk (not very well) in a club and making new strides in his quest to be the world's biggest asshole (he managed that part pretty well). This happens before he has sex with a ghost, commits seppuku with a large knife and pulls a gnome/furry demon/teddy bear out of his stomach. Right. Weird.
- Check it out for yourself.

J Records reports: Rod Stewart will be releasing Soulbook a day earlier than its scheduled release day on October 26th (J Records). Soulbook is a collection of classic Sixties/Seventies-era soul favorites, all newly recorded by the quintessential "blue eyed soul" singer of our generation. Rod Stewart possesses one of the most distinctive and interpretive voices in music -- his Grammy-Award winning recordings of the Great American Songbook have sold over 19 million albums and is the biggest selling ongoing series of new music recordings in history. With the same passion, Rod approaches some of the greatest soul songs ever written. The album features two stunning superstar duets, one with Mary J. Blige joining Rod on the Stylistics' 70s hit "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and the other with Jennifer Hudson on "Let It Be Me," inspired by the Jerry Butler/Betty Everett duet. In addition, soul great Smokey Robinson guests on "Tracks of My Tears" which he made famous as a member of the Miracles who recorded that track in 1965, and musical giant Stevie Wonder accompanies Rod on harmonica on his massive 1969 hit "My Cherie Amour."

Naya reports: Naya Records, an upstart indie label founded in Boston, MA and run by visionary label president and accomplished drummer/engineer/producer Nathan Sabanayagam, is proud to announce the release of two very special albums. The first, entitled "Grass Yard Productions Volume One," is the first installment of a series of compilations to be released over the next few years by Naya Records featuring the Grassyard Productions All-Stars (aka GYP All-Stars). All of the songs on the album were recorded on the front porch of legendary guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith, known for his role as lead guitarist for Bob Marley's band as well as Peter Tosh and Innter Circle, to name a very short few. The album is dedicated to the late great Jamaican Trumpeter Johnny "Dizzy" Moore, who is also featured on one of the songs. Other veteran artists who contributed to the compilation include Ken Boothe, Winston "BoPee" Bowen, as well as historic musical figures Kiddus I and Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace, who both starred in the cult classic film Rockers. The most significant aspect of this release is the collaboration of several generations of musicians from around the globe, all gathering to play in the relaxed and intimate environment known as the Grassyard (at Earl "Chinna" Smith's Jamaican residence). The end result is an album that is chalk full of instant classics. These songs capture the true essence that is musical creation in Jamaica and some of the highlights include "Fire," sung by Don I, "Shot Poor Johnny," sung by Ken Bob, and the Ken Boothe track, " Richard Cory."

Audible Treats reports: Chalie Boy's smash single "I Look Good" has already built a national presence for itself, showing up on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and gracing the entire country with its upbeat vibe. This track is now re-introducing itself with an all-new music video. This video can be summed up in two words: cars and girls, which keeps in line with the lighthearted, upbeat vibe of the track. As Chalie Boy rolls through his town in a decked out set of wheels, shouting the track's indelible hook, "I look fly, I look good!" girls wearing short dresses and high heels crowd around his low-rider and dance along, truly epitomizing what a southern hip-hop video is meant to be.

Submitted News reports: Audible Mainframe takes home the Grand Prize of AirWalk's Unsigned Hero Competition, and is headed to perform on the Spin Magazine stage at Stubbs for the 2010 South By Southwest Music Conference. The band also receives a $5000 cash award prize, tons of AirWalk gear, and an all expense paid trip to Austin, TX, where the showcase is held. The competition was strictly based on fan votes and the prestigious judges associated with competition. Thousands of bands submitted to the competition, and only 10 bands were chosen to compete in the voting frenzy, which took place over the last few months. "Hard work does pay off, and if you keep on being persistent, things will happen," says Expo, Emcee & Vocalist of AMF. "Most importantly, we want to thank all of our fans for voting for us. With the recent release of our sophomore album, Transients, becoming a finalist in Rockstar 98.7's unsigned band contest and being featured on the homepage of Purevolume.com last month, this couldn't have come at a better time. We are more than ready for SxSW next year, the question is, is SxSW ready for us?!"

From a surprise appearance with Tommy Dorsey in 1955 to a 1990 concert at Radio City Music Hall, SINATRA: NEW YORK follows the singer onstage at various iconic New York City venues, living out one of his most famous lines: "If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere." The five-disc boxed set (4-CD/1-DVD) of previously unreleased live performances will be available November 3, at all retail outlets, including www.Sinatra.com, for a suggested list price of $79.99 (physical) and $34.99 (digital). The set, produced by Charles Pignone, features deluxe packaging with rare, never-before-seen photos, tributes from Martin Scorsese, Tony Bennett, Yogi Berra, and Twyla Tharp, liner notes by Nat Hentoff, and essays by William Friedkin, director of The Exorcist and The French Connection; George Kalinsky, official photographer for Madison Square Garden for over 40 years; Tom Young, engineer for Sinatra; Joe & Sal Scognamillo, owners of Patsy's Italian Restaurant in New York City; and Frank Sinatra Jr. SINATRA: NEW YORK begins in February 1955, at the Manhattan Center, where Sinatra made a surprise appearance with Tommy Dorsey and his band during a concert celebrating the group's 20-year anniversary. Sinatra, who first became a star singing with Dorsey in the early '40s, sang a trio of his biggest hits with Dorsey: "Oh! Look At Me Now," "This Love Of Mine;" and "I'll Never Smile Again," a song that spent 12 weeks at #1 in 1940. The remainder of the first disc was recorded in September 1963, at the United Nations. To celebrate U.N. Staff Day, Sinatra sang at the organization's Manhattan offices, accompanied only by pianist Skitch Henderson, who incidentally played on Sinatra's first solo recording session in 1942. During the show, the duo performed "I Have Dreamed" and "My Heart Stood Still" from The Concert Sinatra, an album released earlier that year.
